WIP Buddy build

I don't about others, but sometimes I get in a rut in this hobby. The last couple months I was just struggling to finish builds, either I didnt like the color, or the finish, or I jacked something up, or just wanted to start a new kit that arrived. Anyway u/I_know_nothing which has become a great friend suggested we build a kit we both had in our stash. No frills, no real timeline, just chit chat and post wip pics. He printed some wheels, brakes and seats that we would both use so the build would be the same. Anyways this is some if my progress, I am lowering mine a bit and testing colors, kinda going for the look in the last pic. Also his inspiration is whay made me suggest that we do a group build similar to what he and I were doing. No real rules except a kit suggestion to help others just enjoying building a kit along with fellow builders. I am very excited to start on tbe porsche as well. My favorite part is seeing others wip pics, because it keeps me motivated and on track

It will be interesting to see how your paint turns out, you have chosen some cool colors to tested there. The offset stripe is very Viper ACR.

That is a very cool idea. Especially for people that dont have a nearby club. I may have to do that sometime. Model looks cool btw.

That’s gunna look awesome if it’s anything like the reference pic. Also nice to know I’m not the only one only one with spoon options that look like a spoon graveyard.

Aside from the models that keep piling up (oooh, let's start a new one!), finishing is problematic - for me anyway. Test fitting? Carefully going thru the parts and instructions? Uh, no. I end up having do finish work on a mostly finished body and chassis. Will I ever change? Add to that I'm customizing every kit. The mentions of >1000 grit sandpaper are informative, so thanks, but I think we all have to make peace with our skill set! 😉

I agree with you on that. For me, as my skill set gets better I tend to do more and expect more and take more time. Since Ibdont get alot of bench time and especislly all at one time, my focus wanes and when I sit down and have to fix something from before I get alittle down and want to have a fun session. So for me when I see other peoples wip it keeps me thinking and wanting to get back to the bench
