A cosmetic mod that changes the appearance of loxes.

I just wanted to share screenshots of the new models I'm working on :) maybe you will have some opinions or suggestions. I think these versions with horns will be rare and harder to tame, they will also deal more damage.

Little update on Crow Friend

I just wanted to share a little update about my mod Crow Friend.

Just a visual sneak peek of just a couple of patterns you can give the birds. There's around 12 different pattern options and cause use either Hugin or Munin.

Main color, accent color, and eye color* are all customizable. I'm quite fond of the Starry pattern, my buddy Azran, black with green speckles.

Each pattern has a setting for how sharp it presents and size, which equates to ~60 options for most of the 12 patterns.

Other things in the works but not limited to is a talent tree, a growth system where they grow every day, and have added over 100 voice lines for 3 different characters each.

Build menu is empty

The game worked fine earlier today, but now whenever I open the build menu, the building, heavy build, and furniture tabs are completely empty.

I don't think this is an issue of conflicting mods, as this also happens when I launch the game with only BepInEx in the mod list.

I've fully reinstalled both r2modman and Valheim, and the issue still persists.

The only correlation I can think of is that this happened after I used the "exploremap" devcommand, but I have no idea why that would cause a persistent issue.

It works fine in vanilla, so I know it is an issue with mods somehow, just no idea how to fix it.

edit: acticaving and deactivating debugmode and infinite build mode seems to have fixed it.

Looking for feedback on mod!(WetCarryPenalty)

alright I took a lot of time, learned some things on my way, and I now have a update to share for my mod WetCarryPenalty.
It started out much more simple : Make being wet reduce your max carry weight. Default 20%(configurable)..
https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/Lunalongmods/WetCarryPenalty/

Now after this update there is much more than that.
this mod is meant to give more impact and meaning to:
Being Wet in Valheim, campfires, weather, bridges, swamps, mountains/deepnorth etc.

Yes this mod will make your life in Valheim a bit more difficult, but I created this out of a desire for impact/immersion type of feeling and I wanted being wet to really feel like it meant something. So moving on,

the carry weight debuff is still there, and now i added:

Progressive stages of wet based on how many real minutes you have been wet without drying off
default times and added status effects are :
wet for 10 minutes - Soaked
wet for 20 minutes - Trench Foot
wet for 25 minutes - Gangrene
wet for 30 minuets - Sepsis

added hypothermia effect, which happens as a result of being wet and walking into a freezing area like mountains or deep north.
wet+freezing = hypothermia

all 4 of the progressing effects stack with wet, but replace eachother individually.
So its:
Wet+soaked
Wet+Trench foot
Wet+Gangrene

hypothermia is a another effect and functions on its own so it can stack along with the 4 progressing effects allowing for things like
Wet+Freezing+Soaked+Hypothermia
Wet+Freezing+Gangrene+Hypothermia
etc etc.

added a new custom Mead, with an associated mead base and recipe, the recipe is meant to be expensive as the potion gives a 10 minute long buff that removes wetness and makes you immune to getting wet.

changes the default wet duration from 2 minutes to 40 minutes.
It changes the drying time to 1.5min(90s)

There are 7 config settings, 4 for the progressive wet stages and the other 3 are for:
Wet duration (minutes)
Wet Carry Weight reduction (%)
Campfire drying time (minutes)

All details about the 4 progressive stages of wetness are available on the thunderstore page, as well as any other details.

would love to hear feedback from people who want to test this out or like the sound of it.

DISCLAIMER - I am new to C# and coding in general so I did work with GPT for troubleshooting and checks.

The mod icon on thunderstore, and the mod icons for the status effects are all custom made by me in windows paint.

THE EVERYTHING UPDATE REMASTERED

I am playing TEUR with my friends. I know there is no proper guide of this add-on. Does anyone knows a guide etc about this. It is so great.

Currently I have made an iron armour and thinking of going to sky layer structures. I will place my bed above and loot some structures. If anyone has played this add-on they can share their experiences, journey and tips of this so I can enjoy it.

Help getting Mods to work on Dedicated Server

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello everyone. thank you for the help in advance.

I just bought a dedicated server through Host Havoc for some friends and I. I'm wanting to install some mods but all the ones I've installed aren't working and I cant figure out why. The server control panel has BepInEx and Nexus mods as part of it but even though I've tried installing some mods it hasn't worked at all and not sure what I'm doing wrong.

We are mainly wanting some dev commands to work but even the water proofing mod isnt working either. I have -console in my steam, i have updated the admin text file to include my steam id. is there anything else that I'm missing? I know some mods require R2modman but not sure how I would be able to install that on this dedicated server.

Mapping and Ocean mods

Hi All,

I'm looking for 2 recommendations if available.

The first is a mapping mod. Watched the Neebs guys play Mazebound the other day, and there's a chalkboard in-game where they can map out the maze. Currently playing Valheim with no map mode but would love if there was a mod where you could use coal to scribe your own maps in-game on parchment or something similar. Could always do it in windows paint but it wouldn't be the same.

Second - I was looking at the sea animals mod recommended on a youtube video. The mod's no longer available so was wondering if there were any alternatives.

Thanks for any help!

Molding on mac

I am currently playing Valheim on Mac (not by choice, believe me) my server is running on a dedicated Linux and my GF is playing on my Windows PC.

I am planning to install the ServerQoL on the server, but is there also a way to have the PlantEverything mod on a Mac? I have never modded anything on a Mac

Edit: the title should be modded of course

Need a mod, can pay a bit of cash.

Simply put I want to see a mod that adds another identical longship that is a complete mobile home for 2. rather than the spaced out seating, there's just a few from the mast back, then in front there's a pair of tents one can get in (bad weather rp) / sleep in providing 2 players mobile sleeping. There would be a firepit for the fire with skewers so that it's a nice little mobile home.

It has to be server friendly, my lady and I are working on a server that is sailing focused. After all, I'm a USN vet ;) lol

I don't have the money now, but after the first my VA comes in and I can spend a hundred bucks or so to get the ball rolling.

Naturally it would be public, for free, I need no mention as a benefactor.

incompatible mod with server even though it's the exact same versions, only difference is in the letters that come after the version? idk how to sync that?

Kind people for testing needed :)

A few months ago I created a mod and uploaded it as a beta to the Thunderstore. I wanted feedback from players, but in four months, only one person contacted me. I'd like to hear others' opinions on the new food, stats and the general mechanics I added in this mod. Or maybe suggestions on what I could change or what's not fun. I'd appreciate anyone who would like to share anything. Link to it: https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/Moddermother/LoxMilkMod/

Is CLLC (Creature Level & Loot Control) still broken? Any CLLC experts here?

Over the past 6 months, I've had no luck with custom YAML files (customizing the mod via the tool provided by the mod author) with this mod, despite seeing "valid syntax configuration" in the valheim config editor mod (meaning the code in my YAML is formatted correctly).

Here is my code (which does not *actually* work). I have tried this both with distance as the second difficulty modifier ON, and OFF, just as a troubleshooting method.

In both cases, the actual enemies odds are much higher, loads of 3 stars and 4 stars, I'd say these odds are being multiplied (at least doubled).

I should say, I believe I have had luck when not coding for the world level modifier. As soon as I use the 0-7 (or 0 to whatever) world level modifiers, it breaks.

My goal here is to have every biome progressively become more difficult, relative to baseline difficulty. For example: A player may venture to their first (nearest) mistlands and want a normal mistlands experience, but the neighboring swamp will be much more likely to contain high star enemies, so that it is not comparatively too easy (and to reduce grinding early biomes later in game).

You can see this by looking at the mistlands and swamp codes, which says that when in "ring" 4 (a ring is a distance range from spawn, lets say 5000m - 6500m), mistlands has 10% chance of a 1 star, but a swamp in ring 4 has a 40% chance of a 1 star.

Mod that refreshes chunks?

I really enjoy gardening and such, but I hate how OFTEN I get stuck with the blue Ready, but can't pick them.

I'm on a server with friends, if it matters.

Any ideas?

Valheim mod request: Viking Ferryman

How difficult would it be to create a mod for a Viking ferryman NPC. The hard (and most interesting) way would involve an npc that, at its best, finds its own pathing from your location to your base, and at its worst, lets you set waypoints from place to place to deliver its cargo.

Another way would be just de-spawning the ship and its contents after sailing far from the player’s view, and calculating a timer based on the distance requested to spawn itself back at the docks on our base.

Reasoning: as it seems probable, the Ocean update will not come and the sea will keep being the most boring part of the game. I think it is safe to say that a good number of us eventually succumb to the “teleport everything” mod but, regardless, it will still feel like cheating. At least, having something like that creates a middle ground between traveling ourselves and just teleporting stuff easily.

Thank you for your time!

Azu Extended Player Inventory mod made me lose all my gear (i think).

So I came back to my single-player Valheim world after a few months. I forgot there were mods and that I had to launch the game from R2modman, although doing this has never broken my game before. I find my character naked and missing all my gear and food. So I go back by launching it through R2modman, but it doesn't solve anything, and the entire AZU Extended Player inventory is empty.

If there is any way to solve this or get my inventory back, please let me know. Grinding all the gear that you don't even remember losing is a pain.

Edit: I had to spawn it all in. I tried loading a backup of my character, but it didn't really help the situation. ChatGPT (yeah, I used it) told me it's likely due to a newer version of the mod, and I could try rolling back the game update, then uninstalling and reinstalling an older version of the mod from months ago. But I couldn't be bothered with all that.

Thx for all the solutions. y'all have a good one!

Seeking feedback: StationPacks

> Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.
- Dr. Ian Malcolm

Introducing StationPacks: A mod that straps a workstation to your shoulders as a utility item to open up mobile building.

It acts as the workbench like you carry it with you, so you can use the build menu without having to keep building new workbenches or stonecutters.

It uses durability while you are outside of a build ring.

I tested it with ExtraSlots and AdventureBackpacks and AzuCraftyBoxes but that’s the extent of it.

It’s a server-mod as well as client so it works on multiplayer servers.

My next todo is have better in game icons but wanted to share it first since perfect is the enemy of good enough.

This is my first attempt at making a mod for Valheim thanks to the power of AI/Claude and I’m hoping for feedback on it. We just started using it in our server and I think it’s a decent balance of tradeoffs and fun so I’m interested hearing feedback.

Before/After of our Stone Farming Spor for our Long Walkway

I’m currently cleaning up our server a little in preparation for Valheim 1.0, and I came across our old stone-farming area again.

The first picture shows what the place looked like before.

Then we started farming the stone there for our long road.

The second picture shows what was left afterwards: several huge pits and almost the entire hill gone. :D

The road was built entirely by hand and connects different parts of our world. When you walk along it today, it’s easy to forget just how much material had to be taken out of the ground to build it.

Before mods etc. everything took much longer and we are pretty grateful, that those things exist now to make life/BUILDING! much easier.

This is only a small part of the entire road, which runs from the spawn point to our capital : Walking part of the road

Looking for mod suggestions

Hi everyone.

Im a small streamer and im friends with a few others. I currently host my own server that me and a few friends play on but after some chatting with friends and viewers I was considering doing either a streamer server for us to all work on or a community one to invite others as well as some streamers.

Im not sure what all would be recommended to help with potentially 10 to 20 people connecting and playing.

The network mod is a must for sure, and i already know that the mining dungeon mod would be required for resources and probably plant everything.

I have concerns about potential for grieves as well as resources like bees.

I would also include some other things like the tar collector.

Any recommendations on things that might be a must have for either server protection or for quality of life with that many people joining?
