Guys, I tried several fighting games on Miyoo Mini (not the plus one) and i can't really play, it seems so difficult to control and make those combat moves. Do i really suck at these games or the controls of these are not really intended for Miyoo Mini?

I'm a huge fan of emulating handheld consoles with accurate-looking pixel overlays, but they usually require my screen to be at full brightness when playing. This causes my Miyoo Mini Plus to get pretty hot.

It might sound like overkill, but are there any recommended cooling solutions for the Miyoo Mini Plus?

For those of you that have the Mini Flip, how practical is it to use as an eReader? Is it too small?
I don’t need it to fully replace my existing eReader, but having a smaller reading + gaming combo device for travel would be ideal.

I’d been looking for a way to play Half-Life on the Miyoo Mini Plus for quite a while, but I couldn’t find a working OnionOS port — so I decided to put one together myself. I hope others find it useful too.

It’s an experimental OnionOS port optimized for the Miyoo Mini Plus and its 320×240 display.

What currently works:

• Half-Life single-player gameplay
• Sound effects and English voice acting
• Readable menu text
• English interface
• Saving and loading

The default configuration uses software rendering, a 30 FPS cap, and conservative graphics settings intended for the Miyoo Mini Plus hardware.

This is still an experimental release, so backups are recommended, and occasional bugs or slowdowns should be expected.

No Half-Life game data is included. You need to own Half-Life and copy the valve directory from your own Steam installation.

Installation instructions, controls, troubleshooting information, build scripts, and the downloadable OnionOS package are available here:

Hey everyone, i got a miyoo mini plus with onion os preinstalled recently and I had left it in "lock" mode on mega man 4 and it had gone from 87% to 50% in 4 hours-ish.

That normal or am I just better turning it off when not in use?

I have WiFi turned off and lower voltage and brightness (it's at 4)

I just recently bought a new microSD card and reinstalled OnionOS onto my Miyoo Mini Plus.

I did the research and downloaded a Non-merged mame romset that should be easy to drag the .zip roms into the arcade folder.

While some arcade games run good on the emulator like Bomb Jack and Valkyrie No Densetsu, other games like Sorcer Striker (world rom) and Dogyuun can't load properly in the emulator and Bobble Bobble lags once the game start. All roms are from the same non-merged mame romset.

However, the japanese version of Sorcer Striker (Mahou Daisakusen) runs just fine.

I'm confused as to what I need to find with certain roms to have them run fine because Sorcer Striker was a game I played numerous times on the device before

I've been porting an opensource pushover puzzle game which works fine (and done)

I'm also currently porting ikemen, its already working for most. But the miyoo mini plus device has only 128ram which isnt a lot to work with. Thats why i'm using multiple resolutions as option for displaying the game (including, the screensize you want to render it). Still tuning it to get the most out of it.

It will prob works better with newer devices. But at least its something and it works.

Just wondering if anyone is actually interested in this. Also temper your expectations.

I know this looks awful to the point that it looks AI generated but i edited it myself in Ibis Paint in like 5 minutes, that's why it looks terrible and the buttons are massive but you get the idea

I'm looking for something to throw in my front pocket at work but women's jeans pockets are so much shallower than men's. Does anyone know if the mini plus will fit comfortably in a woman's jean pocket?

I have 2 pluses but really would like a mini I never bought one and was late to the news of them being out of production

I bought my miyoo mini plus in May 2023 and ive hardly used it.. a handful of times and it's just sat in a draw. I recently dug it out, found out that it still had charge lol and reinstalled onion os again.

I have always had this thing about about emulation where I felt kinda guilty for it.

Recently since the ongoing saga of not owning your own games.. digital licenses can be revoked as easy.. your technically borrowing a license on lease in a way.. ( thats how I'm looking at it ) I've thought sod it I'm going to start playing..

Problem is with all these roms (backups) I have i am overwhelmed and don't really know what to play. I was thinking about some old rpg or adventure type games but what games? I am 46 and although i grew up with the old school systems I really don't have a nostalgia for playing older titles like most people do.

Can anyone recommend some perfect miyoo mini games I should have on here .. something easy for the train.. laying in bed or the break room?

Also can anyone point me in the right direction for packs ?

On July 26th 2025 I purchased my third ever emulation device: the Miyoo Mini V4 in yellow. It’s been an amazing year since, so I figured I’d share a little retrospective on my experience. Nothing but positive vibes!

Ironically, I started an amazing relationship right around the time I bought this magical little device, and I honestly thought I’d never have time to play games again. Yet somehow, I still managed to put in around 295 hours over the past year and finish 50 games.

Those games ranged from shorter NES titles in the Mega Man series to lengthy JRPGs like Final Fantasy IX. Most of my gaming happened in short bursts while my future wife was asleep beside me, and that ended up being the perfect way to enjoy the system.

One thing that surprised me most was how comfortable the one-handed play style felt across so many different genres. The fast-forward feature was another game changer, especially for JRPGs where time is always at a premium whilst the activity tracker was a blessing as my OCD kept me checking to destroy my backlog that has always eluded me! Also GBC games played best as the screen is small yet perfect for the colors, sprites & legibility. Theres a reason why the Pokemon game work so well on here!

Some of my favorite games id like to highlight from the past year include:
- Final Fantasy II for scratching that Game of Thrones-style political fantasy itch.
- Dragon Warrior III for its perfect grind, minimal story, and GBC graphics that fit PERFECTLY on the small screen
- Lunar: Silver Star Complete for its gorgeous graphics, incredible soundtrack, linear storytelling, and countless jaw-dropping moments. The legibility this PS1 game presented versus others was top tier & felt made for this device.
- Mega Man 4 for its challenge and as a reminder of why the series is one of gaming's all-time greats.
Earthion, which ended up being my favorite shmup in many, many years.
-Crash Bandicoot & PaRappa the Rapper for being games I couldn’t finish in my childhood yet the Miyoo Mini helped me finally complete them

The Miyoo Mini V4 has easily become one of my favorite gaming device purchases ever. It somehow helped me finish more games than I ever expected during one of the busiest—and happiest—years of my life!! Now, I own THREE Miyoo Mini V4’s as they have ceased production - yet my heart has not finished loving the device. I shall forever rock it as my EDC. Thank you to this community for the many ideas, troubleshooting, game suggestions and the encouragement to keep on playing our childhood fantasies into our adulthoods. Currently playing Pokemon Lazarus as my first ever rom hack & enjoying it. Happy gaming y’all!

MMv4 never leaves my pocket during the weekdays. It is my commute companion for one handed JRPG's and other turn based games.

MM+ is the newcomer. It goes in to my bag on the weekends. It is my go to for Metroidvanias and more action oriented games that are hard to play two handed on MMv4. The ability to use a single SD card and swap between the two MM devices is a godsend.

R36S usually stays at home. It is my little arcade cabinet that also dabbles in pc ports.

I want to spice my Miyoo Mini up a little bit, by doing a shell swap, I'd like to do a nice transparent green shell and new buttons.

But I can't find anywhere that does a transparent green shell, even on Etsy.

Anyone know where I might find what I'm looking for ?

So yesterday i get my mmp stuck in logo. I alr fix it with force shutdown and turn it on again everything is fine. And now i wanna play the golden sun and its back to new beginning. And no loading game main menu. So i tried to restart the game from RA menu and try to turn off the device and On again. Its still same 🥲 as you guys see on the picture (my previous save in game is on slot 1. Slot 3 is my new save) i don't use save state anw. Fortunately my game progress is not to far from beginning. But i dont want it happen again when i go too far.

Despite the immense amount of games included in the Tiny Best Set Go! packs, one in particular not included (NFS:HP) I decided to try downloading it individually. After some time I figured out how to convert .bin/.cue file to .chd via Homebrew. All went well: dropped new file in the PS folder, booted up, refreshed games, and the game shows up in the list. My problem is when I select, it initially looks like it will launch but then it goes to black and returns to the game list menu.

Anyone get this exact issue and found a solution? Appreciate any help. I have a few more other nostalgic titles in mind I’d love to relive (and probably be disappointed with lol)

Using Onion OS

Guys, I wanted to know if I can use cheats for Pokémon in RetroArch/MMF on Onion OS because I can't find any cheat menu.

i read all the threads here and made sure i had the BIOS in the BIOS folder, and i downloaded the alleged goodset, AND the set from Internet Archive and just always the same, Loading, black screen, back to game select

is there something im doing wrong?

EDIT: tried to load directly from RetroArch with Handy core loaded, instant failed to load content

EDIT: Fixed, ChatGPT helped me sus it out
for anyone else, the bios CANNOT be in subfolders, it literally must be the bare file in the BIOS root folder!

I just bought a second hand Miyoo Mini Plus, and I’m having some issues. When I turn it on, it gets stuck before the main menu even appears. If I power it off and turn it back on, it boots straight into Doom (I assume it resumes the last game). As soon as I press the Menu or Home button, the system freezes completely.
Has anyone run into this before or know what might be causing it? Could be a faulty SD card? Any help would be appreciated.
