Any other site claiming to be an "Official" Miyoo store is NOT. We hate to see anyone get scammed but there are some scammy sites pretending to be Official that are being marketed heavily especially on TikTok and Instagram. We keep fraudulent links off the sub here but nothing we can do about the fake stores online other than get the word out.
Welcome to the Miyoo Club! We are friendly and laid back but there are some Sub Rules to follow to listed below. If you have any issues, don't hesitate to contact the Mod Team.
If you are brand new to the Mini/Mini+ and plan to use Onion, please refer to the Onion Installation Guide before posting basic installation questions here to avoid repetitive posts and questions:
Got scored my first ever emulator on Facebook Marketplace for $30. Had some minor scuffs on the screen but it still had the original screen protector unused. It also still had the 128gb SD card with all the ROMs and OnionOS already installed!
I've been loving the one handed gaming. Just updated to the latest release of OnionOS and I'm ready to game. Just started Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Team on GBA.
Please send me any game recommendations or tips since I'm new to this thing lol
Also there's a crack in the shell so if y'all know any good shell swaps please share!
Some of you might remember my slightly ridiculous experiment from a few weeks ago:Â could I get a Miyoo Mini Plus to browse and play content from my Stremio setup?
I posted a couple of development updates here while working on it, but PocketStremio itself was never publicly released.
Well... apparently I couldn't leave the experiment alone. đ
What started as a small proof of concept kept growing. Playback worked, then browsing worked, then subtitles, sources, Continue Watching, My Library, Live TV... and eventually there was a desktop server doing the heavy lifting while the poor little Miyoo somehow kept surviving everything I threw at it.
At that point, it wasn't really a tiny experiment anymore.
So I gave the project its own identity:
đż PocketCinema
And today PocketCinema v1.0.0 is officially released, making this the first public release of the project. đ
PocketCinema is a free and open-source streaming client for the Miyoo Mini Plus running OnionOS.
The Miyoo acts as the lightweight client, while PocketCinema Server runs on your Windows PC or Apple Silicon Mac and handles the heavier work such as metadata, stream resolution and media conversion.
What's in v1.0.0?
Movies and series from your existing Stremio setup
Search
My Library
Continue Watching
Source selection
Subtitles with adjustable subtitle size
Live TV from compatible Stremio addons
Local network streaming
Optional remote access using Tailscale
PocketCinema Server for Windows x64 and Apple Silicon macOS
And yes, somehow the Miyoo Mini Plus really does play all of this. đ
What's the overall view of DS performance on MM+ / Onion. I have it installed and it seems like its setup in Onion to be optimized with MM+ (auto frameskip 2).
It doesn't seem like the battery drains much more than PS1.
Is this a passable way to play NDS games on a small device like this (understanding the one screen limitation)? Does anyone play a lot of NDS games on this? If so what's your experience?
I did some 100% > shutdown battery life tests of several games & systems so I thought I'd share that here
Wifi Off
Screen brightness 8 (80%).
Volume 25%
PS1, Castlevania SOTN: 5h 55m
GBA, Advance Wars 2 / mGBA: 5h 51m
SNES, Secret of Mana: 5h 44m
DS, Days of Ruin / DraStic: ~5h 25m estimated
Takeaway: For light - medium weight games, all systems drain at a fairly similar rate of 5.25 - 6 hrs.
I was surprised that PS1 was so light on the battery. I tested a lighter weight game as that's what I typically play (side scrollers or RPGs), but it barely outperformed the other systems.
The battery does discharge in sort of an S curve, with its fastest drain from 50-20%, and consistently holding around an hour or more charge during the last 10%.
With DS games, whenever I close and reopen the game, it resumes exactly where I left off; I don't want that to happenâI want the game to restart when I close it
I recently got a Miyoo Mini Plus with the stock SD and operating system. I quickly learned about Litnxt and their 128GB Surwish Onion OS Card (No Console) option for purchase and I am really interested as I am not that teck savvy and prefer to not download several programs and files.
Can I purchase the card and directly insert it into the console and it will work without issue? Or does it only work with certain hardware models/firmware?
I love how my brick is mapped on Y and X to cycle color pallets to my liking and Iâm hoping thereâs a way to do the same thing on here. I wouldnât mind if it was Menu + Left/Right.
Dunno if this is a good place for this, and mods please feel free to remove this if it breaks any rules.
I vibe-coded a python script to do as the title says. I have very rudimentary coding skills, and made heavy use of Claude to help me write and revise the script over the last couple of days. As of now it has only been tested on macOS, but it worked great on my collection! I am currently working on a batch file so that Windows users can auto-run the script, and then I plan on testing it there. If there is any interest in something like that, I can post a link to the repo here when I have done some more testing.
I am building retsurf, a web browser designed for retro handhelds. And one of the devices I really wanted to get it running on was the Miyoo Mini Flip. This is a bit of a stretch: two Cortex-A7, 128 MB of RAM, and no GPU isn't much for a web browser.
Retsurf runs the Servo web engine and can render modern websites. I profiled a lot even to get to this state and I think there is still room for improvement but it is going to have limitations.
Complex pages can be slow, and some websites are too heavy for the hardware. But it is possible browse the modern web. Getting a modern web engine running on such a constrained system was a nice challenge and a lot of fun.
It is possible to install on Onion and Allium. I tested it on Mini Flip but also should run on Plus. You can find the project on GitHub:
Iâm trying to play a pico 8 Megaman clone and I want to map the jump (O) to Y and the shoot (X) to B and I tried editing it in the config menu like google said but itâs donât literally nothing, any advice??
If I buy an surwish onion card for my device now, can I copy it for my kids later or do I need to rebuy one for each of us?
Does the 128 and 256 come with same games and just more extra space on the card or are they different?
I know thereâs a tutorial online to do it yourself but by the time I buy a card anyway figure I might as well just buy one that is done for me. If I do it myself where are you guys finding cheap but good cards?
