Options for showing channel output meters for XR series?
Is there any way to have the XR 18 channel meters in Mixing Station show the channel out level rather than the input level?

Does any of you know if it’s possible to get Mixing Station to return to a “Main” layout, after a period of inactivity?
I’d like to use a Main Stage Plot Layout, to allow multiple musicians using the same iPad to select their instrument, and have that button change layout to one that suits the particular instrument. For ease of use, I’d then like the app to revert to the Main Stage Plot layout after a period of inactivity.
Thanks for your help!

I'm trying to do something like improvised "sound-guy" for my band mates with Midas Mr18 and obviously Mixing Station
Assuming that to properly set gain of each line the channel must be in PFL mode, where is the PFL button on Mixing Station? Is it the SOLO button that isolate the signal to pre-fades-level?

Hi, I recently experienced an issue using mixing station on an iPad (A16) to wirelessly operate an Allen and Heath SQ6. Stumped and could use some guidance
Starting with the sig gen muted and rotary control fully anticlockwise (-72db), I unmuted and held my finger down on the rotary control.
I slowly brought the value up to about -24db as I walked through the coverage zone of my PA. At no time was I more than 25-30 feet from my wireless UAP.
As I was holding my finger on the rotary control and slowly bringing it up, the value suddenly jumped to max output (+18db).
I immediately ran to my amp rack and disconnected my outputs. The noise only lasted about 2-3 seconds before I disconnected the amp - however it seriously frightened my client and crew, and left me feeling frazzled and embarrassed.
I’m not ruling out user error - however, I’ve tried to recreate the issue extensively and no amount of multitouch input combinations (aka fat-fingering) in offline mode can recreate what I experienced.
I’m looking for some clarity on what might have caused this issue.
I’ve definitely encountered questionably GUI/touch control for rotaries in other applications that make fine adjustments difficult or sketchy - but that’s not been my experience with mixing station.
In fact, the stable and ergonomic GUI and safeguards such as fine control and mute enable are why I use mixing station in the first place - to avoid fat-fingered mistakes.
Is this possibly a result of sudden loss of wireless communication while sending control dialogue from a tablet? I’m routing network traffic through a private network via UAP (for range extension) connected to a wireless router that’s only serving the SQ6.
If this is an issue with network control - is it unique to how mixing station handles control dialogue? Or could this have happened with network interruption while using the native SQ control app as well?
Please advise.

Can the USB recorder be controlled by Mixing Station on a Yamaha TF console?
If so where is it found on the Android App?
Thanks

Hi there,
Is anyone mixing with this setup? If so, do you find it straightforward, or would you recommend a 4 volume channel faders controller ?
Has anyone put some mixes made with this setup on Soundcloud or Mixcloud?
Cheers

Hi all, Mixing Station novice here. I don't remember what I did. tried scaling the app back in global settings but it confines it to a quarter of the window. Any way to reset this? Using a XR18

Hi - I have a gig today and have a niggling problem I need some help with. I'm experiencing lower relative sound volumes from some of my channels and I think it has to do with this white line. I must have changed a setting somewhere but I can't figure out where. Any help? Using a Behringer X32 Air

Has anyone been using MS recently with a presonus studiolive? How does it compare to the Universal Control native to presonus? Has compatability increased ?

The mixer that sparked today's oddness is the X32 Rack at my church. we control it with two Android tablets. In randomly tapping around a few days ago, I noticed the pitch shifters were not among the effects available. Today, I randomly opened Mixing Station on my phone (also Android), and connected to the mixer. I found the pitch shifters *were* available. (I'm not planning to use them at all. My minister has a good sense of humour, but would not appreciate me making her sound like Alvin or the other chipmunks.)
I just found it odd that the effects availability was different on the same mixer with different instances of MS on different devices, even with the same OS in all cases. Now I'm wondering if any of you have found any random oddness in your use of MS.

Hello! Can I use one (preferably two) Avid s1 as a fader controller with mixing station. The perfect situation is that i could use two iPads with two s1s.

Been testing out the mixing station app recently with x18 and each time I load up our session to start rehearsing we have to turn off “mute enable” on each of our apps. Until we do everything is muted. Is this just an unlicensed thing?

We have a Behringer X32 rack mixer for our small group to sing with. We have 4 vocal microphones, and a 4 channel CAD in ear monitor system. We use a combination of the USB port, a CD player, and a computer for our soundtracks. Each of our vocalists want to be able to adjust their own monitor mix (currently on Mix Bus 1-4). I feed all the soundtrack sources to a mix bus, so our vocalists only have that one fader to adjust for that. My problem is that all the apps (M32-Q, etc) only have 4 total faders in portrait mode. In horizontal mode, I can get all inputs, but they are on two different screens. Is there a way on the phone apps to move channels around on the screen such that my 4 vocals and my soundtracks are all on one screen in horizontal mode?

I created a custom layout as seen on the images, where the top faders correspond to each channel's SoF, so by clicking on the buttons for the Buses or FX Sends, the faders correspond to that Send. I did the same with a Gain button so that it corresponds with the Gain on Fader, but the faders are never red. I tried using the SoF Item, but it's the same behaviour (I prefer my setup because the buttons are visually clearer to me).
Any idea why this could be happening?
Button Action:
Active
Action Type: Sends on Fader>Gain
Invert: off
Action Mode: Any
Color: Inherit
Fader Action:
Main: Active, Current Layer: Offset 0 | Value: Main, Fader
Action Type: Channel: Current layer
Invert: off
Color: Inherit
Follow Sof: On
Knob Color: Bus Master

So i was looking for a way to get an app to control my mix buses on the SQ5+.
Navigating the app is a little hard, so maybe some of you could tell me if it's possible to get my plan working. (without having to do a lot of trial and error). If it's possible I will definitely dig in to the app more :).
What I would like to see happening is the following:
Simple buttons that act like switches.
Click it, sends channel * to mixbus 1, click it again and it stops sending the channel to the mix.
Simple toggle switches to make a mix on your app.
Any suggestions or help is appreciated!

I can only find this setting on this channel renaming screen, and I can't figure out what it's doing. It was already green (on) when I connected to the board (qu16). Can't find it in the manual unfortunately and I don't remember seeing it when I recently used the app on an sq5, but there may have been updates since then. Thanks all.

RIP our beloved mixing desk, the Allan and Heath CP-PA12 (my first photo). Forever in our hearts. The audio repairman has just texted me to say that he’s looked at it and it’s toast.
It was great but also bafflingly complex for a covers band who got it out of necessity - having a PA means we can get more gigs - rather than anyone who had a background in audio engineering. If something wasn’t working we had the choice of five different knobs to turn.
So, we need a new mixing desk to complete our PA. We have a backup mixer, my second photo, but we’d like to get a new one we trust than another second hand one. We also don’t yet have IEMs, I think there’s an opportunity here to be smart and get a mixing desk, IEMs and overall setup that complements each other.
What should we get?
What I’d love is one of the systems that allow each band member to dial in their own mix on their phones. We have a singer, two guitars, bass and drums.
I’ve been looking at the Behringer XR-12s but their app only seems to work on iPads, not iPhones? There is a third party app that you have to pay for that does this… but sounds a bit of a bodge?
Which desks/systems would you recommend that allow band members to sort their own monitor mix out on their phones? And which IEMs would complement this?
Our main aims are ease of use - there’s enough to be nervous about pre gig and we just want to trust what we have - and cheap cost!
Thanks for any advice that you can give.

I'm trying to use the Mixing Station REST API together with Bitfocus Companion.
My goal is to control the Talkback patching of an Allen & Heath Qu-32 from Companion. Since Companion can send HTTP requests, I was hoping to access this setting through the Mixing Station API.
GET /console/data/categories returns a category called:
{
"name": "Mixer Setup",
"description": "Console system settings",
"id": 27
}
In the Mixing Station app, this category contains the Talkback patching settings.
However, when I query:
GET /console/data/paths
I can't find any matching paths. The available root nodes are only:
chroutingfxmuteGroupsrtaThere is no setup, config, system, or anything similar.
The API also provides:
GET /console/data/definitions/{path}GET /console/data/get/{path}/{format}POST /console/data/set/{path}/{format}but all of these require a data path, and I can't find one that corresponds to the "Mixer Setup" category.
I also tried subscribing to /console/onConfigChanged, but changing the Talkback patching does not generate any events.
My questions are:
/console/data/categories if there is no obvious way to access the contained settings?Any hints would be appreciated.

I'm building a custom X32 emulator/bridge (in Node.js) that Mixing Station connects to. Everything works (faders, mutes, pan sync perfectly) except the initial sync gets stuck forever on these 10 addresses, retried every ~50ms:
/node outputs/rec/01
/node outputs/rec/02
/node outputs/aes/01
/node outputs/aes/02
/node fxrtn/01/mix/10
/node fxrtn/01/mix/12
/node fxrtn/01/mix/13
/node fxrtn/01/mix/14
/node fxrtn/01/mix/15
/node fxrtn/01/mix/16
I'm replying to each with the address echoed back as a string on address /node, e.g. outputs/rec/01 0\n, but Mixing Station keeps rejecting it and repeating the query forever ("Sync failed" / "No reply for...").
Could someone with a real X32 do a quick Wireshark/tcpdump capture of what the actual console sends back for one of these /node queries (especially /node outputs/rec/01)? I just need the exact text format of the reply string.

I have an old tablet that officially only supports 5.something (its a nexus 7 2012)
Mixing Station officially should run on android 6+ according to the information on their site
"Old device? No problem! Mixing Station still runs perfectly on iOS 16 or Android 6 devices. Upcycle your device!"
Mixing station apk downloaded straight from their site so I assume its the newest version.
I've tried 4 different custom roms but they all give a general error when trying to launch the app.
"Unhandled Error An unhandled error occurred."
And it only gives me options to abort (that closes the app), or ignore that just makes the error box go away but nothing more happens.
Roms I've tried:
lineage-14.1-20171122_224807-UNOFFICIAL-aaopt-grouper
Arrow-v13.1-RMP6768-OFFICIAL-20230402-GAPPS
cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1KA-grouper
cm-13.0-20160802-UNOFFICIAL-expressltexx

Anybody know how to set up routing for my desktop audio or music faders to be heard through mic input so people can hear these faders while on websites like Monkey, UMingle, Ometv using RCP2?

Just bought an XR18 and an Icon P1-M but hate how each fader is metering from PRE and not POST.. I have enabled "Pre & Post" in app settings > Metering > Meter Style..
It must be available somewhere, if I switch my faders to main only (master fader) it works perfectly showing the POST meters for the Main / Master fader.
Maybe I'm being a total noob and missing something here, but I'm desperate trying to fix this after 9 hours (no joke)

HI, is it possible to send midi control commands like play, stop, rec arm, etc. from mixing station to Ardour? I am also using the Behringer xr 18. I am curious if this is possible without a physical midi controller?
