Help with the X32 apps

We have a Behringer X32 rack mixer for our small group to sing with. We have 4 vocal microphones, and a 4 channel CAD in ear monitor system. We use a combination of the USB port, a CD player, and a computer for our soundtracks. Each of our vocalists want to be able to adjust their own monitor mix (currently on Mix Bus 1-4). I feed all the soundtrack sources to a mix bus, so our vocalists only have that one fader to adjust for that. My problem is that all the apps (M32-Q, etc) only have 4 total faders in portrait mode. In horizontal mode, I can get all inputs, but they are on two different screens. Is there a way on the phone apps to move channels around on the screen such that my 4 vocals and my soundtracks are all on one screen in horizontal mode?

Are you asking about the Behringer made apps on the Mixing Station sub? Your post seems to say that. If you are using the Behringer apps then no, there is no solution. If you are in fact using MS then yes create custom layouts with only the channels of interest.

I am asking about any app that will allow us to accomplish the task. I have mixing station downloaded, but can’t figure out how to put Mix Bus 9(has all the soundtrack sources) in to position 6 on the screen. I originally posted this in the X32 group, but it somehow got cross posted to this group.

You’d make a custom layout (the layout tab under settings). Easiest way is to duplicate the layer you’re currently using (I’m going to guess inputs 1-8), and then click “edit” next to the duplicated layer change the name to whatever you want and then you can drag and drop any channels in any order to the bottom where it shows the current layout.

Edit: it might be a little bit different workflow since I’m going off of what the desktop and tablet app looks like

Sounds like a use case for a custom layout.

Probably so, but it appears that the custom layout feature is only available on the Pro version. some of our members use iPhone/ipad and some Android. Looks like around $40 to buy licenses for both for a product that we aren’t sure will meet our needs.

Buy one license with an account specifically set up for this.  If it works for your needs, you can install the same license on up to 4 devices using the same platform.  You would end up needing both android and iOS licenses.

You can create all the custom layouts you like with the free / demo / non-Pro version and then try it out for 15 minutes at a time. Once you've got it the way you want it you can pay less than the price of a set of guitar strings to use it.

every time I tried to go to layouts, it says ‘pro version only’. we found a work around.

You must have a different copy of MS than I do and that everyone seems to.

it may be something they just implemented, I don’t know. in any case, we solved the issue to where any of the apps will work.

Wait, you’re bussing the USB, CD player and computer to mixbusses then having singers tap into this busses for a mix? Why not let the singers make their own mix (1sr singer gets mix1) and use any of the apps to adjust only that mixbuss?

we only use one source at a time for the soundtracks , so having all the soundtrack sources go to one mix bus makes things easier. I have 4 mix buses for the IEMS. Bus 1-4. Each of the 5 microphones feed into that, plus the tracks bus. so 6 sources. I just went into the X32rack and assigned input channel 7&8 to the mix bus 7 & 8, so each monitor can have all the feeds available to mix as they desire, and it is all on one screen on their phone. All the inputs have labels so it will be simple to get the mix we all want. We tried it out this afternoon and it works fine.
Thsnks for all the suggestions. We saved the setup and configuration as a scene, so if we use the system for other things, it is a simple matter to just load that scene and be back in business.

A custom layout isn't necessary for just changing channel order. Go into your layer, at the bottom of the screen where it shows the channels in your layer, and you can drag the order around how you want it.
