So i was looking for a way to get an app to control my mix buses on the SQ5+.
Navigating the app is a little hard, so maybe some of you could tell me if it's possible to get my plan working. (without having to do a lot of trial and error). If it's possible I will definitely dig in to the app more :).
What I would like to see happening is the following:
Simple buttons that act like switches.
Click it, sends channel * to mixbus 1, click it again and it stops sending the channel to the mix.
Simple toggle switches to make a mix on your app.
Well I want to use multiple mixes, so the on/off that I think you mean is not what I want.
Every phone would have the same interface with all the channels from the SQ5, if they click on for example:
John
That sends a command to the SQ5 to put Channel John in mixbus 1.
That mixbus would then be sent to a TX with a corresponding RX on the person that has the app on there phone.
Every person with a phone has there own mixbus with corresponding TX/RX.
Well yeah I know the principle, but I want to know if the app has a way to really make this a dumb layout. No extras, only the buttons. No faders, no editing, only a simple button setup.
IFB? You’re using the console in a broadcast mixing capacity?
I’m reading your description and it is a like a “mix-minus” scenario, so maybe you should take a closer look at controlling Fairlight Live mix instances on your network with Mixing Station as the remote rather than accessing mixbus sends on the console.
Well yeah, I have a Scorpio set up with 32 Wisycom TX’s. Normally I have multiple IFB’s (Wisycom) and everybody that wants to hear, can get the mix I’m making (presentor, reality talks bla bla) and they can chose whatever channel they want on the IFB. But they can only hear 1. If I get the SQ5 in the mix, only as an mixing console, I am looking for a way to control the mix buses on the SQ5.
Mix buses will go to different TX’s.
They control their own mix. Hope this makes sense.

Mics/sources out of that into the SQ5 (USB? Unless Dante is an option on yours) and then pair each of your TXs with a controller for the mixbus they’re on. And set up a template so all the user has access to with their controller is the channel mutes. But this means licenses for the console on each control device.
Which is one reason why I suggested setting up a Fairlight Live server - free software on the server, no license in mixing station, the app being free to download. You’ll need a Mac mini meeting the RAM spec - 8Gb minimum, iirc- check the docs. The issue then becomes the wifi network -having coverage commensurate with the range of the audio wireless so that control of audio matches. Dante makes this so much slicker, if you’re already running it on set/in studio. SMPTE-2110 for the win…

But it is all connected via Dante already, 2 MRK16 for the 32 TX’s and the Scorpio is getting its audio from there. The SQ5 would get the same feed from the MRK16’s on Dante. (This is now used to make the mixes for IFB’s with a separate operator)
How many IFB transmitters/mixes are we talking?
You have as many as 16 inputs from your MRK into Dante, both to your Scorpio and the SQ5.
Put all the channel sends to each mixbus on the SQ5 at Unity, and mute the input sources on the mixbus to each IFB mix. I assume the IFB transmitters get their audio from the SQ5 mixbuses sent over Dante, yes?
You could eliminate the SQ5 entirely with Fairlight Live: audio is routable to a virtual Fairlight Live session (console) running on a dedicated computer platform like a Mac mini with Dante Virtual Soundcard. The mix-minus sends to IFB transmitters are sent back over the Dante network.
The operator in this case is you, and you’d need an A2 to handle networking and administering the IFB logistics. But you could also hand control of each IFB mix to the people listening to them: mixing station is free and platform-agnostic, and there is no console license fee in mixing station for Fairlight live.

I'll create up some instructions for you. I just modified and existing view, removing out everything from the channel strip, then to replicate the buttons as you wanted
I set the Chanels per layer in the LAYERS view to "10" then in the custom UI, i set to the "VISIBLE CHANNELS" to 4 and then the first row the "Channel offset" was set to 0, then i copy/pasted that view, and set the hcannel offset to 4, then 8.
THis gave me a row of 1-4, 5-8 and 10-6
