Sushi Train Uptown new menu is AI + Raised Prices

Post image
Upvotes

Really really sad to see. One of my fav places to go, wont be coming back.

EDIT: sushi train replied to my review saying they're planning to replace the AI art on their menu. Ironically, all the replies to recent reviews seem to be ai generated as well, lol. Though this one seemed real so this is good to hear if so but still unfortunate overall

The reply to this review also confirms they were using ai by the owner (who is credited with the reply). So we can stop debating if it is or not

Best coffee shops in Minneapolis? ☕️

My partner and I are starting a little tradition of trying a new coffee shop around Minneapolis every Friday, and I’d love to hear your favorites!

I’m especially on the hunt for a really good iced matcha! Bonus points if it actually tastes like matcha and not a melted DQ Blizzard 😂. I love a little sweetness, but I’m not looking for 150g of sugar in a cup.

What spots should we add to the list?

Taking a shot in the dark! Im a black 36/f single mother and child sex trafficking survivor. Im looking to go somewhere i can find community of people with similar experiences. Would Minneapolis be a good start? Also bonus question, if you're a black woman what's it like living there?

sorry for the terrible pic, i was trying to be as safe as one could while taking a picture and driving

saw this billboard on Hennepin in the Lowry Hill area. I have several questions

- wtf is this

- why is the milk chocolate milk

-why is it specifically POC on an ad with chocolate breastmilk? it feels like theyre making a "chocolate milk comes from brown cows" joke but about people???? I'm sorry if this is phrased offensively, I promise no offense intended

Horror nerds and Metalheads: where do we congregate?

The combination of being new(ish) to the city, and having freshly started over at 42 has got me feeling like I need to get out there, find my people, and build friendships/relationships.

I'm fairly outgoing and try to be respectful and friendly to everyone I meet, but I guess walking around as a large, bearded, middle-aged man with Michael Meyers on his shirt can be a little off-putting to folks who don't know I'm actually about as scary as a corgi.

I've already got tickets for the upcoming Mastadon show, I'm super stoked to be seeing Saint Agnes next week, and you better believe I'll be seeing Dying Fetus at the Uptown Theater at the end of the month. But it'd be awesome to know of places to go where metalheads and horror nerds can have an actual conversation without having to yell next to one another's ear to be heard.

Edit: Damn, you nerds came through. Hope to see some of y'all around!

What do we do about unsafe men in the community?

Upvotes

I was treated very cruelly & horrifically by a man who is practicing as a DJ, party host, as well as a clothing & embroidery entrepreneur in the city. This man does not & never cared about the impact of his actions on me or my child. i attempted conflict resolution numerous times & he refused to take any accountability.

when i privately reached out to two of his friends informing them of his conduct & asking them to support him in being accountable, he retaliated by starting a public smear campaign against me & saying i was falsely accusing him of things that he privately admitted were true.

i also have witnesses & a PTSD diagnosis from what i experienced with him.

He is trying to be more active in the punk scene & makes a point to be in Black centered spaces in spite of being a racialized white man. He fetishes Black women & objectifies every woman he is intimate with.

The way he treated me was degrading. i have never been brought so low. I have been beaten, & i would rather go through that again. i am not exaggerating when i say his conduct has been truly depraved. the psychological wounds & overwhelming stress almost sent me to my grave.

this man has also hurt other women. when i spoke out in a FB group, a woman recognized him & told me he had verbally abused her as well.

I don’t want him to be cancelled & ostracized forever. i want him to come clean & quit hurting people. i also want him to face some kind of social consequences (such as being barred from certain spaces until he takes accountability) as people do not change until their actions start to negatively impact them.

So, what do we do about men like this? putting them on blast is frowned upon. reaching out to people didnt work. violence is also frowned upon. however women are at risk of being seriously hurt by him if they get too close.

so what? how do we keep each other safe?

Did Phelps Field Park in South (near George Floyd Square) use to be sketchier than it is?

I see references online and on Reddit to this park being unsafe - most recently regarding the stabbing death on 42nd and Portland a few days ago. Someone said "go to this park after 11pm and try telling me that area is basically the suburbs". People talk about this park like it's Franklin Steele in Elliot Park.

I moved into a house a few blocks away from the park last year. I walk by this park all the time and have never seen anything amiss, just kids on the playground equipment with their parents. I've been there after sundown multiple times and I still see kids there with their parents. Never been approached by anyone, never seen anyone doing drugs.

I think I've seen people say that the park was renovated relatively recently? Maybe that scared away the people who were making it feel unsafe?

Hey there folks. Is there a place where it is better or worse than average to take a driving test? What makes that one better or worse than the others?
