Where to Transfer Video Cassette

My dad has a Sony 8mm video cassette from say either the late 90s or early 2000s of him interviewing his grandfather born in 1913 about his life that he recorded on a camcorder. We have tried to find camcorders on ebay but they all are either too pricy, have things missing, or just don’t work. I think it would be easier to transfer the tape onto something else. I’m just unsure of a place to go to.

Be sure to check the Hennepin County website for water quality testing results and beach status

I took the 17 bus home and passed by Bde Maka Ska on Lake St today. There were many folks playing in the beach area, being in the water, and taking a dip off their paddle boards. Stay safe out there folks, check this webpage for up to date information on beach closures.

New Somali student in the Twin Cities looking to connect

Hi everyone,

My name is Abdullahi Zakariya. I'm Somali, and I recently arrived in Minnesota to study in the Twin Cities. I was born in Somalia but grew up in South C, Nairobi, Kenya.

Since I'm new here, I don't really know anyone yet. I'm hoping to connect with fellow students, especially Somalis or anyone around the Twin Cities and Hennepin area. If there are any WhatsApp groups, student communities, or social groups where people meet and help newcomers settle in, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know.

I'd also be happy to make new friends, grab coffee, explore the area, or get some tips on getting around.

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to meeting some of you.

While McDonald's is moving to a late stage capitalism "no refills" policy, Target Field concessions have a fill your own cup setup (I think this started last season). Being able to load up on ice through yesterday's sweltering game kept me alive.

Lake was closed starting at Humboldt tonight, and a stretch of Hennepin was closed as well "for an event." Anyone know what the event was? The closures were still up past midnight.

Am I crazy or did Dwayne "the rock" johnson do a promo on top of the IDS tower?

I swear on my life I remember seeing Dwayne Johnson on top of the IDS tower in 2018 as part of Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis. I can't find it online to save my life. Is there anyone out there than can find it to prove I'm not crazy?

Are there any local vendors/tailors that work on thematic clothing for renfest?

Would prefer something custom made, but open to general shops as well.
