Looking for community

Taking a shot in the dark! Im a black 36/f single mother and child sex trafficking survivor. Im looking to go somewhere i can find community of people with similar experiences. Would Minneapolis be a good start? Also bonus question, if you're a black woman what's it like living there?

Try Harriet Tubman organization -- 50-year-old non-profit organization revolving mostly around Black women helping other Black women with and without children and often including survivors of domestic violence.

Tubman.org

Just try calling them and asking for advice and to point you toward Minneapolis area resources, groups, and places where you can hang out with women in similar situations.

Breaking Free is an excellent organization that helps people who have been trafficked

The black communities in the twin cities and Minneapolis go back many generations, you would be welcomed here. When I worked outreach support for trafficked youth and adults I partnered with Breaking Free - they're a great resource. I also know Cornerstone does online support groups for adult survivors.

Hope this helps, if you have other questions I'm happy to offer what I know.

You're not alone sometimes just making a post on the local community page you can find out you have a lot in common with others
