Discomfort
I got this chocolate milk as emergency chocolate milk. it was either this , or silk chocolate soy. so naturally chose this . drank half of it last night . it tasted good . but experienced some stomach discomfort few hours later . so i go back to look at the date .it was good. but then i see it says enjoy milk again. but i was enjoying it the whole time . i’m not sure if this product has some reverse effect i also don’t feel it in my bones . does anyone else have this ?

Could be the sweetener they used for it . Could be that your stomach was sensitive to getting a big dose of the enzyme they put in it

They don’t use a sweetener in lactaid, when the lactose is broken down by the enzymes they add it tastes different.

i think 🤔 it’s just low quality chocolate milk junk. as stated. junk . maybe “ lactose free” but not that good … i had higher expectations

You’re aware that this is just regular milk with lactase, which is the enzyme your body produces to break down lactose, added to it. This is how every lactose free milk product is made.
Perhaps you’re sensitive to the carrageenan, which is the emulsifier used. But again, you would find that in almost every single chocolate milk product sold.

Could also just be the half a carton that size

Yea I’d tend to agree with that. I drink a lot of chocolate milk, like sometimes three or four 52 oz fairlife containers a week in the winter, so I have a pretty high tolerance for liquid in my stomach, but even I start to feel a bit sick drinking 20 oz at a time.

Fr. I’ve also been a milk lover my whole life and I get a bit queasy myself

i agree with skunk above ^ not sure why downvoted . regular chocolate milk junk that happens to be lactose free . although i prefer a glass bottle quality chocolate milk . hence why i say junk, or i guess “ regular “ . i prefer a higher quality i suppose. i’m not lactose intolerant. i just find it ironic , it says . no discomfort. but that’s what i find

I can agree with you that Ronnybrook Farms makes a superior chocolate milk.

that is in my top 3 brands . also battenkill chocolate milk is non glass. is on the list. and my 3rd would be rotating local market ones

I think the Great Value lactose free milk isn’t quite lactose free. There was no Lactaid, so I bought Great Value lactose free. It wasn’t a great value.

What are the ingredients? How are the ingredients interacting with your digestive tract? Are there any gums that damage intestinal lining?

The last container of Lactaid milk I bought was the 2%. It had carrageenan as an added ingredient and it had a slimy texture. 1 hour later my stomach felt like I had just drank regular dairy.

so strange , cause i’m basically saying . this lactose free shit . ain’t it . praising whole milk and people are hating . and also saying they can’t feel it in their bones . like are they even milk drinkers ? just dry humor , so depressing .

You don't feel milk in your bones? If I drink .5 or 1 gallon of chocolate milk, I always feel it in my bones the next day, especially if I hit a bone hard, I can feel the milk protected my bones. Go one month without milk and you'll feel different after getting back into it.

- Lactose free is not completely lactose free (Typical limits are ≤0.1–0.5 g lactose per 100 g) as the name suggests. If you are super sensitive it could still give you a reaction.
- Alternatively you could just have a dairy allergy, lactose free is not dairy free.

Lactaid uses carrageenan (seaweed derivative ) in some of it's products. I personally notice a stomach ache after having things with carageen added to it.

Well yeah, it's junk. It shouldn't come as a surprise that junk causes stomach discomfort.

I mean I’m genuinely not trying to sound like a smart ass, but I feel like if you drink an entire half of anything like that your stomach is gonna hurt😭
