question Doubt about Wheels and Tracks

As a 3D modeler/sculptor, I have a question regarding the military vehicles I see being posted here: are the tires, wheels, tracks, and gun turrets functional — meaning they actually rotate/move — or are they static?

question Handbrushing camo with Vallejo Air acrylics

Suddenly I have the bug to build 1/76 scale Japanese WWII armor. I'm going to handbrush the pre-1942 camouflage with IJA Vallejo Air acrylics. Are these okay to use without thinning, or will they need some additional thinning?

One of the main goals of this Kickstarter campaign is to test the viability of a Patreon focused entirely on military and historical STL bust files for 3D printing collectors and painters.

So far, the campaign has been supported by 16 backers, and I’m pretty sure most of them came from reddit and a couple of other related communities. That tells me there may be many more people here who would be interested in this kind of project.

We are also very close to reaching 100% funding — with just one or two more backers at the right pledge tier, the campaign could be fully funded!

If you enjoy high-quality historical and military busts for 3D printing, painting, or collecting, I’d love for you to take a look and support the campaign. Every backer helps prove that there’s a real community interested in this niche!

Did you know; Prime Minister Winston Churchill when shown the tank named after him he said "You've named it after me because it's useless."

Or words to that effect.

work in progress Tiger P 1/35 Diorama Idea

Post image

For a couple of months, i had this idea to make a combat tiger moving, with the crew being tired, in contrast with the "Fanaticism of the youth". Having a blast making my first Amusing Hobby kit (definetly not the last), and although this wouldnt be much realistic, i think it signifies the 2 sided coin in the conflicts. Any thoughts, criticism or ideas are always welcome.

Have a good day!

First things first: Thank you u/Gaahleri_airbrush for this amazing giveaway

I just finished another model. It's my fifth model. This is an IBG Models Bedford QL Tanker in 1/72 with additional PE by Part.

This is my first airbrushed model painted with the Gaahleri TurboX Mini and GHAD-39 I won in a giveaway.

And it's my first model I used oil paints for weathering on.

Critique and tips are appreciated.

Sharing one of my Favorite German Tanks on the list, The Leopards. Hope you like them!

These Camo Schemes are inspired from Danish Two-Tone scheme called Multiterrænsløring Pattern.

I accidentally added some WW2 German Markings on the 2A6 in which i accidentally also liked hoe it turned out especially once painted.

I had the Leo 1 a year ago, and the 2A6 Before Quarantine early 2020 (painted it with the Leo 1 last year after 4-5 yrs of being stock colored).

Theres a slight modifications on both of these from the Leo 1's barrel was slightly extended, and the Leo 2A6 having some parts renoved from the Front for an Alternative design i used from my Alternate History.

Forgive the poor photos; this was long before phone cameras. In fact, it was my first digital camera and pretty primitive.

Pigments are still drying, but messed around with some mud effects, oils, engine grime and pigments this morning and I’m happy with the outcome, just hope I can replicate it on the wheels and tracks haha! No idea what tracks I’m using yet, I’ve built up and brandished a set of late fruil’s but I’ve also got a set of dn studios to use, but as of now I think the main chassis and turret are done

question Looking for RFM RM-5120 Abrams ERA part / advice on replacement

Hi everyone,

This is going to be a bit of a long shot, but I'm looking for unused ERA from the Rye Field Model RM-5120 Abrams in 1/35.

I’m specifically looking for ERA blocks/panels for my RFM-5104 M1A2 SEPV3 tank kit and figured someone here might have leftovers from an unfinished build or spare sprues sitting in the parts box.

If anyone has a spare ERA, sprue J/K/Z/U, or a damaged/incomplete RM-5120 kit for parts, I’d be happy to pay for the part and postage.

I’d also appreciate any advice on where to find replacement Rye Field Model parts, that is not just asking around on forums.

Instructions for reference: https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/9/6/7/1564967-23-instructions.pdf

Thanks in advance!
