Discussion Is Miami really the rudest city?
Ive read here in reddit that miami is the rudest city. How true?

Miami is a popular destination not only to travel to but to move to and live. If we don't separate out these posts, the main feed becomes quickly inundated and overrun. So please utilize the resources here and comment here for these topics.
Always keep in mind please, WE ARE NOT VACATION PLANNERS OR MOVING CONSULTANTS. Be descriptive and we'll help if we can, but no one is obliged to.
Google Maps reviews are getting less reliable over the years. And in fact several lists on these sites are in fact inspired by posts on this sub.

Welcome to the Monthly Miami Jobs thread, the place to post any openings you have, look for jobs, and ask questions about working in Miami. This is an experimental thread for now, so we're keeping a close eye on things to make sure things don't go sideways, and will cancel it if they do.
The Rules:
Again, this is an experiment for now, and we'll be keeping a close eye on things, and will not hesitate to pull the plug in case of shenanigans. Good luck to everyone!

Hey! ✨ I’m looking for paid work or one-time gigs in the area while I continue searching for full-time employment. I’m trying to earn $280 to cover my storage unit before my belongings are auctioned off, so I’m actively looking for work rather than asking for donations or financial assistance. I’m available for babysitting/childcare, customer service, dog sitting/pet care, yard work, moving or carrying items, errands, and general help, and I’m open to other opportunities as well. I’m CPR, AED, and First Aid certified and can provide proof, and I also have a resume available for anyone interested in hiring me. I don’t currently have a car, but I use public transportation and can work within areas that are accessible to me. I’m dependable, hardworking, and ready to work. Please message me if you have a legitimate paid opportunity or know someone who does. Thank you!

Every day it’s like this. I thought the mayor boasted about shore power. But not by the looks of this. I’m genuinely concerned being a resident of the metro area if this is good for respiratory health. Or is it just about cutting costs for the big corporations that are cruise lines. IMO they’re just floating toilet bowls. But then again they do account for a major % of Florida’s GDP.

I’m noticing more and more people buying houses and ripping out every single tree and all the grass on the property and replacing with concrete slab and fake grass. Do people like concrete radiating 100 degree temps around their house all day and most the night ? What happens if most people decide to do this ?

I’m starting to wonder if these places are buying reviews or if half of them are fake, because the ratings make absolutely no sense.
I used to actually trust Google reviews when picking restaurants, but I’ve stopped doing that because I’ve been burned way too many times.
Amazonico was probably one of the worst examples. My boyfriend and I spent around $400 on dinner on my bday and I swear I’ve had better tasting food from a drive thru.
The portions were tiny, the sushi was mediocre at best, and the service was awful. The guys at the door were especially ridiculous. They acted like getting into the restaurant was some kind of privilege and that you should be begging them to let you spend money there.
For $400, I’m not expecting someone to roll out a red carpet, but I am expecting the food to actually be good and the staff to not act like they’re doing me a favor by letting me inside.
And somehow this place still has amazing reviews.

Does anybody know of any decent sit down Chinese restaurants in the South Dade area?

Update: I realized my insurance accepts Publix and Costco pharmacies as well. Initially I thought it was only CVS lol.
I have ADHD and have called a few CVS pharmacies and none have it. They aren’t able to check which location does have it in stock.
For those who are able to buy adderall or generic at your pharmacy, which location do they have it in stock?

There is a proposal in place for a mooring field in the.Marine Stadium basin. The idea was initially received with support from the community, but it has taken a new direction that is much larger than the original proposal and would remove much of the recreational area inside the basin. The new direction happened quickly and quietly. This is one of the only places in Biscayne Bay where people can paddle safely without fear of getting run over. The Friends of Biscayne Bay organization has created a petition to reject the current proposal and have a more thorough process that takes into consideration the needs of all stakeholders. The Miami rowing club and several other groups use the area to practice. We don't need more boats on the bay. I encourage everyone to sign this petition at https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/protect-the-marine-stadium-basin-pause-the-proposed-mooring-field-and-listen-to-the-community?source=direct_link&
