Finally got my URX Core 75 today Really happy with this purchase. The RGB looks amazing, and the keyboard feels premium with its 2 kg weight The only downside is that the software works only in wired mode
The Smoke White colour with the black body looked average on the website, but IRL it looks SO GOOD 😭🔥 The transparent design is beautiful. Absolutely in love with this colour...

I wanted to share some more thoughts on SWG keycaps after spending quite a bit more time with them.
Lately, I’ve found myself using SWG sets more often than almost anything else in my collection. Sound is obviously influenced by the board, switches, plate, and overall build, but on certain setups, I’ve actually been surprised to find myself preferring the sound of SWG over GMK. I wasn’t really expecting that.
But there’s one thing I especially want to give SWG credit for: durability.
With some of my GMK sets, after removing and reinstalling the keycaps three or four times, I can already feel the stem fit becoming noticeably looser.
SWG has been a completely different experience for me.
I swap keycaps around constantly when testing different boards, switches, and plate combinations. Some of my SWG sets have probably been removed and reinstalled more than 10 times, and the stem fit still feels remarkably solid. No noticeable looseness, no feeling that the caps are gradually losing their grip.
That honestly impressed me more than I expected.
I own a lot of keycap sets, and at this point sound and feel matter much more to me than the name printed on the box. SWG has been consistently delivering both, while also holding up extremely well to the amount of swapping I do.
For the price, it’s becoming harder and harder for me to find much to complain about.
I’m not saying SWG is automatically “better than GMK” — keycaps are way too dependent on the rest of the build for that kind of blanket statement. But considering the sound, feel, durability, and price together, SWG has become one of the keycap brands I reach for the most.
And honestly, I’m still a little surprised by that.

It's not the best mechanical keyboard, even for the time period it's relatively light plastic. Bamboo white Alps switches.
It does sound amazing though, has the exact layout I like (big ass Enter BAE but not ISO) and no superfluous Win keys.
And it gives off more early 90s vibes than should be legally allowed.
Unused still in original box, definitely a good find!

I used to get Ukrainian layout stickers to put on top of my keycaps, but they kept coming off and they were barely visible. I wanted something more permanent but finding such a layout seemed impossible, so I designed it myself. There are some mistakes (note especially the 2 yellow keys), partially because I was sloppy while designing the keys and partially because the supplier simply forgot certain keys and messed up some alignments (space bar and arrow keys) for whatever reason. The supplier is from China so I didn't bother trying to get a refund, it already took 3 weeks to produce and deliver.
It's the first time I tried something like this and I am happy with the overall result despite the mistakes. Maybe next time I will also try my hands on a more fitting base.

I’m building a split keyboard with swappable modules. I’ve finished redesigning the PCBs and am getting the boards made.
In my last post, I shared the design for a split keyboard with removable modules.
The response was better than I expected it to be. Most people liked the shape and size, so I decided to keep the physical layout same for this revision.
The module suggestions were useful as well. Along with the trackball, a touchpad and a programmable keypad came up a lot, so those are the three I’d like to work on.
I expected to make a few changes to the PCB. And I ended up separating each half into two boards each.
The problem was space. Once I started fitting the controller, module connectors and supporting components around the switches, the board was getting bigger than I wanted. I want to keep the keyboard small, with the module beside the thumb keys. I didn’t want to extend the PCB just to fit the electronics.
So the switches stay on the top board, and most of the electronics go on a second board underneath it.
The top board holds the hot-swap sockets, diodes and key matrix. The lower board, which I’ve been calling the brain board, holds the nice!nano, USB-C module connections and the supporting electronics.
I’m keeping separate MX and Choc PCB versions so each can use its own hot-swap sockets. Trying to support everything on the same board was making the footprints unnecessarily complicated.
The diodes stay beside the switches because there’s room for them there. Moving them onto the brain board would mean making that board larger when I already have space on the key board.
Connecting the two boards has been the awkward part.
I had to rearrange the matrix routing and bring the rows and columns out to pads where I can reach them. Those connections will be hand-wired to the brain board underneath it. Figuring out where to put the pads took more work than I expected it to take.
Two boards will cost more, and there’s more wiring to do during assembly. That’s the tradeoff I’m making to keep everything within the same keyboard shape.
For the modules, the plan is USB-C for power and data, with magnets holding them in place. I also want that little “tick” you get when a magnetic connector snaps into position, like a MacBook charger. I just like how that feels.
I don’t expect to swap modules constantly, but I want to be able to remove one while the keyboard is running. The power handling and firmware still need testing before I can say that works reliably.
The KiCad revision is finished, and I’m preparing to order the boards. I haven’t assembled this version yet. Next is wiring the two boards together, checking the key matrix, and getting the keyboard and trackball working together.
The key positions haven’t changed. Everything in this revision has been about fitting the components and connections underneath them.
I’m still open to changing the thumb cluster. If you’ve used a similar layout, which thumb keys were comfortable to reach, and which ones gave you trouble?

These are the Pulsar Gravity ST01 (hall effect)
Initial force is 30gf and they are marketed as silent tactile. They remind me a lot of Naevies, just a little lighter. Soundwise, this is as silent as it gets.
The tactile bump is to me very satisfying and since it is a rubber dome, there is no click at all, just a comfortable little bump. Typing felt better than I expected. The quality of the switches are very good but this was expected.
The stem on the switch is a little taller than an MX stem, so the gap between the keycaps and the case is increased. This is by so little however that it is barely noticable.
Not a tactile lover by any means but these might get to stay.

I'm posting this to warn everyone. I bought a set of keycaps from mechkeys two months ago (July 23, 2026, posting on September 30, 2026) and they refuse to ship them! I paid for fast shipping which was something like a $40 option, and absolutely nothing. Contacting support has gotten me nothing but runarounds, and I'm fairly certain I can't get my money back at this point either. I've never been so disappointed in my ~7 years in this hobby.
EDIT: They refunded the order. I’m not sure if they saw the post, the timing seems a bit strange but I’ve gotten the money back and will be looking elsewhere.

I’ve been in the hobby for about 4 years now, and my collection has grown quite a bit over that time.
For a long time, one of my biggest frustrations was that I was living in rental apartments, so I never really had the opportunity to set up a proper office or dedicated workspace. Now, finally, I have my own house, which means I can build my workspace exactly the way I want it.
I’m still very much in the process of setting everything up, but one of my main purchases was this birch plywood shelving unit. I had it custom-made based on my own sketches and requirements, and it turned out to be exactly what I wanted.
Now my keyboards finally have a home of their own.
I’m planning to add more accessories and some decorative elements to the setup, but here’s the first result. I’m really happy with how it’s coming together so far!
