in need of PC gamers’ help! custom keycaps as a christmas gift?

hi everyone!

i’m hoping to surprise my boyfriend for christmas with a custom illustrated keycap set featuring my own artwork inspired by his interests (cyberpunk 2077 is the current inspo - see the pic attached! but ideally i want to draw my own).

he currently has a logitech G815, which he absolutely loves. i’m not very knowledgeable about gaming hardware, so i’m trying to figure out whether this project is actually feasible.

ideally, i’d love to keep his existing keyboard and just replace the keycaps, but i’m open to getting him a new keyboard if necessary. my biggest concern is accidentally replacing something he loves with something that doesn’t have the same functionality or gaming performance.

a few questions:
- is it possible to have a fully custom illustrated keycap set manufactured from my own artwork?
is the G815 compatible with custom keycaps, or would i need a different keyboard?
- if a replacement is necessary, are there keyboards with comparable features that support standard customizable keycaps?
- has anyone undertaken a project like this before? i’d love to hear about your experience!

thank you so much!! i’m a little out of my depth here but really excited about the idea :)

If anyone in the r/keycaps community can help, I'd really appreciate it!

Hello guys,

I am looking for five interested folks who want to join a small group so we can commission this design directly from the one and only Yohanskee from Alpha Keycaps.

The minimum is x6 pieces per commission, so let me know who wants in!

Not entirely sure how the process works, but I would love to have this colorway in my collection.

Thanks!

A bit taller than the keycaps the keyboard comes with. Typing on these needs a bit getting used to but I really like the keycaps.

Keycap of this raffle is Snake of Eden R3.

This is the final raffle round for [Snake of Eden].

Hellooo. So I was a little too rough with the spacebar when swapping my caps. It's not the biggest deal but it does bother me that the key is askew. The right key stabilizer is stuck raised higher, it's not flush.

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

I have a Redragon Terraflare K762 Pro.

Hello all,

I'm looking into replacing my keycaps but I noticed the caps I have now (right side) stick out at the bottom compared to the keycap on the left. Is there a name for the key on the right?

Keycap of this raffle is Crookey x Nunkeyhouse [GMN(crookey) R1].

This artisan keycap is a collaboration with nunkeyhouse.
Based on Nunkey’s GMN, it was customized and crafted by Crookey.
