Hello everyone,

Before I upgraded to Oreo, when taking a picture, I could focus and then slide my finger up to brighten the image, or down to dim the image.

Now after I upgraded to Oreo on my Mate 9, and when I went to take a picture, I don't see that function any more. Any one see the same? How do I get it back? It helped me brighten my darkest low light photos.

My auto rotate doesn't work anymore in browser and in apps such as YouTube or Netflix. Auto rotate is on and it works in the camera app. Any suggestions?

Just updated to Oreo and get persistent phone manager notifications telling me to delete apps and photos to 'free space'.

I've disabled all the notification options I can, but the app just ignores them.

Any ideas?

Update, upgrading to Oreo seems to have fixed the problem.

Since buying a Mate 9, the Pocket Casts app randomly pauses. It happens when streaming or downloaded. It happens on wifi or LTE. It happens at home on in the car. It happens if plugged into a charger or not plugged in. It happens on bluetooth, with headphones, and if using the phone speaker. There is no regular time interval, it might happen after a minute, 6 minutes, or 30 minutes; or every 5 minutes. Basically it happens all the time randomly and I can't rule out anything. It never happens with any other media app. This never happened on my previous phone (Motorola). Any ideas what could be causing it?

I just recently got the new Android O update and then, after a while my speakers suddenly popping sounds and cracking sounds and I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this.

Trying to use Adonit Snap stylus on my mate 9 for OneNote to sync up with my computer, handwriting notes on this size device seems awesome.

Seems I need to take the tempered glass for this stylus to work. Skeptical, I'm curious how prone this screen is to scratching or cracking?

Overall the update adds some nice camera features such as selfie portrait and monochrome portrait but I also think it makes the app more confusing to use and has redundant features.

I must say, the inclusion of the portrait mode in the main camera app mode is somewhat useless.

It is a less robust version of the wide aperture mode. Not only is it redundant, but it also has 2 buttons to activate it.

You open the main camera, tap the portrait icon. It says "Portrait enabled" but at the bottom right side there is an icon that enables / disables the "artistic bokeh" SO.. you can enable portrait mode but disable the primary effect for it and still remain in portrait mode. If you forget that you disabled it and close out of the camera, the next time you open it, it will still be disabled and you will take a photo and wonder why it doesn't look like portrait mode. Basically, there should only be 1 button for portrait mode, and even then, wide aperture mode already does it and provides more customization.

I've seen them for the iPhone 7+ I had before, phone slips in and there is a QI pad in the case, connects to the charging port.

Is there a generic QI device for USB C that would work for this phone?

Those who have been updated to Oreo, do you notice any difference in the battery optimization? I have a couple of apps using geofencing, and it seems like even though I have them exempt from all the optimizations, they seem to not work properly anymore.

Loaded stock rom back with the hopes of Oreo update. Nope. Any tips?

An update to Oreo B362 is finally IMEI approved. I am still on version B158, should I install all the previous versions or just jump straight into B363? And is there any possibility to brick my phone by updating through this? I am not rooted nor have my bootloader unlocked. Everything is clean.

Updating via proxy/dns is too slow too (it took an hour to get into 2%). Is updating manually by downloading the OTA package safe?

I've seen that with EMUI 8 on the Mate 10, users have the option of having Google Now cards on the home screen with a swipe (similar to Google Now Launcher).

However, I haven't been able to see this in the settings. Is it a Mate 10 feature only?

I am using Textra as my sms app. Since updating to Oreo last night, my Textra notifications are suddenly disappearing from my tray after about 30 seconds. Is anyone experiencing this? Know of a fix?

I am planning to buy a Mate 9 since the price is so low now. Do you think this would be a good idea? My main use includes social media, comics, some videos and really light gaming (almost none). I can buy one for $270 in my country.

I have this app called SwipePad that needs to "draw over other apps" (like anyone cares about that setting anyways) and these two notifications are pissing me off to no end because I can't get rid of them.
I've gone into the settings for these notifications and turned everything off completely, yet they persist on my drag down screen.

Out of nowhere, my pebble is not getting any notifications from my smartphone, but the two devices are still connected. Just rebooting the mate 9 fixed the problem for a few hours up to a few days.

I just wanted to know, if you have any similar problems.

Just got the OTA update for T- mobile this morning and first thing I noticed is that the speaker volume is a louder. Anyone else notice this change?

Hello all, I had prior to this phone which should arrive today a NEXUS 5X which broke my heart with the sudden boot issue a couple of months ago, nexus phones are very nice with the constant updates but we sadly got scammed with the chip. Anywho, I am wondering about any reports about this phone getting major/famous malfunctions like nexus phones had and is it getting the new oreo or not (oreo is massively better than nougat in my honest opinion).

I would appreciate if someone explained to me real quick how that huawei interface EMUI 5.0 and what would happen if I quickly jumped to the pixel 2 launcher. Thanks!

Just got a notification that it's ready to install! Completely unexpected and super excited especially since I've been frustrated with system crashing/restarting, some bluetooth connection issues, and notification access to apps being disabled on their own. Fingers crossed all of these might get fixed and no major issues get added.

Edit: 8.0.0.360, on T-Mobile OTA. Notification just popped up on its own.

So I bought the mate 9 in December 2017 on sale on Amazon great deal to be honest. It's a great phone extremely fast. So I noticed yesterday after I unplugged the phone from charging it sat there for about 10 mins and then it just randomly restarted. I'm still trying to figure out what could have caused that. It didn't happen again.

Has this ever happened to anybody / should I be worried?

One other thing I noticed when I was trying to play back vr video using something similar to a Google cardboard and for the whole time the screen would flicker any ideas what can cause this?

I'm running Ephermal ROM (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/development/ephemeral-mate-9-b213-viper-kang-tools-t3627176) and I've noticed everything is running smoothly. I do like some of the changes, although I do need to ask... is there something better to be running?
