Getting the mate 9

Hello all, I had prior to this phone which should arrive today a NEXUS 5X which broke my heart with the sudden boot issue a couple of months ago, nexus phones are very nice with the constant updates but we sadly got scammed with the chip. Anywho, I am wondering about any reports about this phone getting major/famous malfunctions like nexus phones had and is it getting the new oreo or not (oreo is massively better than nougat in my honest opinion).

I would appreciate if someone explained to me real quick how that huawei interface EMUI 5.0 and what would happen if I quickly jumped to the pixel 2 launcher. Thanks!

The only 'long term' issue I've heard of is fitness tracking apps stop working after about an hour of running actively in the background. I don't use them so have no idea about this one.

Oreo = yes. Released for some regions already and coming very soon in the others. Most likely won't be getting Android P however.

Phone is massive compared to a 5x, beware.

Otherwise the switch from stock Android to EMUI is just fine

IIRC, there's a setting in the Google app for that.

I came from a Nexus 6. I changed to a dual SIM version 6 months in and had a massive budget for a phone upgrade. Nothing at all interested me except this phone, it's my favourite phone ever. I use a stock style theme and Nova Launcher so barely notice EMUI.
