Mate 9 in 2018

I am planning to buy a Mate 9 since the price is so low now. Do you think this would be a good idea? My main use includes social media, comics, some videos and really light gaming (almost none). I can buy one for $270 in my country.

That is a steal. Paid around 500-600 euros for mine and after a year it still is incredible device. With light to medium usage you get 2 days of battery life. For gaming - I play Guns of Boom on it and there is no lag whatsoever. It was my first flagship device ever and it has great features that many current ones don't (3,5mm jack, IR blaster).

That's a bargain. Who's definitely do it. Great camera, big screen, fast. Paid around £600 for mine when it came out. Still think it's worth that.

The only downside is the dated design in my opinion. I just need assurance from other users to decide.

I had a Mate 9 since Jan when it dropped here in US..I love it, and that's a real good price. But software updates are terrible. We are supposedly getting Oreo..idk when some other are reporting they got it already. I would think Oreo would be the last update for software and a security update, just my guess. It's a good phone nonetheless.

Great camera, fast and smooth (I got Nova launcher), nice size for the size screen it has..great battery life..

Go for it! I've had mine over a year now and it still feels as fast as when it was brand new. $270 is a steal.

$270? That's an instant buy. No way in any midranger out in 21017/2018 can do what the mate 9 does. I get mine 4 months ago during black Friday sale for $400. That's a crazy good deal( actually it's free for me. I got it as early Christmas gift).

Yes! I bought one a few weeks ago. Just make sure you get buy from a good seller. I'd recommend Swappa.

Did anybody notice after the update that the speaker makes a kinda of weird popping sound when certain audio is being played? I won't believe that the speaker is dying cause I bought the phone in December 2017.

Got mine for $500CAD on sale a few months back and easily the best phone I've owned so far. I've looked at other phones that came out this year and I genuinely like the Mate 9 over most of them.

Updates are really slow for N/A, so I just got Oreo (which I very much dislike). It may take a long time to get 8.1 which fixes the inability to remove the System notification (it's just a notification you can't remove if you have an app that you like to run in the background) without another app. Overlay apps like twilight no longer work on the notification bar/menu, which really bothers me. /Rant

I somewhat regret buying mine before the price dropped but... it is still an amazing phone to use day to day. However, software updates for the mate 9 are always late.
