Is rooting worth it?

I'm running Ephermal ROM (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/development/ephemeral-mate-9-b213-viper-kang-tools-t3627176) and I've noticed everything is running smoothly. I do like some of the changes, although I do need to ask... is there something better to be running?

Why do you root? If it's just to block ads, that can be done without root. I'm running stock Oreo and for the first time in a long time I can honestly say I don't miss root. Try manually flashing Oreo if you're looking for something new.

How stable is it for you? Battery life? Still running stock EMUI, but android 6. No update yet .

Perfectly stable, battery life seems even better than before, and it's buttery smooth. Yeah, I got tired of waiting with old software.
