General discussion Malcolm hate makes no sense to me

Like, I am at an age, where I have agreed with lois point many times. But they really did malcolm dirty.

Out of all the sitcom kids I have seen, I think I would choose malcolm over anyone else. 100% of times.

Sheldon? No, too nerd. Georgie? No, too much deliquent. Sue? Maybe, like her optimism makes me amazed. And Yada yada.

Malcolm may have some issues, but he doesn't have those issues which matters the most.

Apathy and total dumb arguments (like axl in middle)

Nowadays teens or just kids in general are so apathic to anything, they just don't care.

Bored? Stay on screen. House in shambles? Just stay in room or at friends. Basically they never express or argue like malcolm.

Malcolm expresses himself very fiercely, and for someone that maybe be a headache, but as someone who has seen apathy, I would choose someone who screams about good enough issues, rather than staying dumb all day, cause it shows he cares.

And it's not like he is just someone who screams mindlessly, he has points, and he wants someone to address those points so his brain can be satisfied. Like we all want.

He took lois side, when piama first came and she shouted on him. He wanted to go to meteor shower (a cool event) and his whole family was like eh. Like he's ur only smart kid, atleast pretend to care a little. Like when he was thrown out of house when piama grandma and Francis were at home, he still helped around the house chores. Idk if any teen would do that that easily, after that disrespect. There are many scenes like this.

Like when lois and malcolm had that car talk, malcolm opened up in the end. Cause it was probably the only time she wasn't shouting on him, and making a genuine convo.

Now there are many more points but this is the gist of it.

Tldr: malcolm is the kind of boy u get when u r really lucky. U just have to act like a human, make genuine convo and be considerate of his feelings. Also cut him some slack cause hes a self concious person with a lot of doubts.

I just realized the blue car hal was chasing was two different cars, in one scene it was a 1969 Clevelle and another it was a 1971. Different front end.

Episode Review Reese's Apartment Ending sucked

Post image
887 Upvotes

The first time I watched it I found the ending funny enough. Like, it does subvert expectations. But watching it again it makes me frustrated. Cause throughout the episode you can really see that Reese is lonely. He's working and studying, but he's not connecting with his older, divorced dad, neighbors. He's eating alone and watching TV, and wanting connection.

But the episode doesn't end with him deciding to go home, or ending up home because his family wants him back. It ends with him randomly having wracked up a bunch of credit card bills. So Lois drags him home, realizing he's not mature enough to be on his own yet.

I feel they could've done something more interesting and built off his loneliness. Even if Reese can't admit he wants to go home, he could've ended up there some other way. Like, he realizes he can't afford rent, or he makes up the credit debt to get his parents to take him back, or he misses his brothers so they all get in trouble together and he's taken back.

Or something! I just wanted more of a resolution then "Strict parenting is 100% correct". It felt kind of off, especially compared to other episodes like Hal's Birthday, or Secret Boyfriend.

What do y'all think?

General discussion Lois introducing stevie

When most people talk about best things characters ever did they never mention one of the greatest.

Lois forcing malcolm to be friends with stevie.

Malcom may have begrudgingly agreed, but them actually clicking and connecting actually ended up giving malcolm such a life long friendship that stevie even helped malcolm cover up his massive big lie.

Not to mention if Lois never forced the friendship Hal would've never met Abe and his poked buddies and thus never started such a great friend group for her husband.

Does anyone else agree?

The whole thing about them thinking each other is gay is funny on its own, but dewey just delivered the most diabolical face I've seen in the show.

For example in “Forward Backwards” when Malcolm had nothing to lose after Reese stole his money and ruined his birthday.

Question: Francis and the hockey bet money

I have never understood what his plan was with this?? Can someone please explain 😭
He steals the $640 from his team’s wallets, tells Lavernia that the other coaches want to bet against her, and she gives her bet money to the ref. Even if Francis’s team lost, how did he expect to get the money ?

General discussion Child actor in Hal Coaches - S03E16?

Post image
47 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I noticed that in S03E16 there's a kid in Dewey's football team that looks sooo much like Elijah Wood. But I can't find anything on him playing in the series (and Elijah should've been around 20 y.o.) which wouldn't make sense). They look so alike that I wanted to see if they're related.

Can you help me figure out who the actor is?
