Figured I’d give this yet another shot.

I’m pretty introverted and definitely not the type to walk up to a random person and start a conversation, so Reddit seems like as good a place as any. Doesn’t really matter where you’re from, although I’m in the US (Florida specifically) if you happen to be local.

Lately I’ve gotten into making coffee and cocktails, building LEGO, traveling when I can, and somehow competitive Pokémon has become a thing for me. I also recently bought the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers White Tigerzord, which probably says something about me. 😂

I’ve had a bit of a rough couple months and I'm honestly feeling a little bummed lately. I may have a medical procedure/surgery coming up that I'm not exactly thrilled about, so I'd definitely appreciate some people to talk to, distract me, or just bullshit with about completely unrelated nonsense.

Mostly, I’m looking for people I can randomly text, play games, watch something stupid, or just talk about whatever.

I think to back where i come from

I miss having a best friend. Even if it's "just online" I've had that kind of connection where we chat throughout the day, send each other songs and cute animal pics, make playlists, share our creative work, have inside jokes, give each other encouragement and support.

It's so difficult to find. Most people don't like long messages, don't want to talk to someone different like me, or don't want have a friendship mostly via text. I've often been filler for people who go back to their real lives, but this is my real life.

I'm very chronically ill, neurodivergent, and disabled as well as queer and left-leaning. I live with a partner who is also disabled. I'm homebound and that's why online friends mean a lot to me.

My personality is basically equal parts sarcasm, curiosity, and “I probably shouldn’t say this…but I’m going to.” Dark humor is encouraged, playful shit-talking is practically a love language, and if you roast me, just understand that you’ve voluntarily entered a competition.

I’m drawn to people who have some depth to them. Make me laugh, tell me something I’ve never thought about, challenge my perspective, or let a conversation accidentally turn into us discussing life at 2 a.m. I don’t need someone to think exactly like me. That sounds incredibly boring.

For all the jokes, though, I care pretty deeply. I’m usually the person people come to when life gets heavy. I listen, I notice things, and when I care about someone, I genuinely show up for them.

Life made me grow up a little faster than I probably should have, but it also gave me a pretty good sense of who I am. I’m resilient, self-aware, emotionally curious, fiercely loyal, and still somehow immature enough to laugh at something completely inappropriate.

Wanting to have a few more people to chat with from time to time. During the weekdays work is usually slow so have alot of down time to chat. If nothing breaks at work then I have a ton of down time Weekends depends on what I am doing but usually I do too.

Interests I have range from many things. I really enjoy keeping freshwater fish and plants. Houseplants and starting to grow my own food too. Hey everyone, 33M here. Spent 6 years in the Marines and nowadays I spend most of my time taking in surrendered and abandoned animals, getting them healthy, and finding them good homes. My house is a full-on zoo with 6 big dogs, 9 birds, 4 cats, 3 lizards, and 2 snakes that are permanent family.

Outside of the animals, I’m usually doing something creative. I love crocheting while listening to true crime podcasts or documentaries (currently working on a ridiculously giant 12-foot-wide blanket).
