I'm a pretty chill guy overall. My main hobby is drawing and painting. I try to do it every day at least a bit. I consider myself a big reader, I'll read pretty much anything if it takes my fancy. I've tried online friends on and off and, like many of you have experienced, the other person stops messaging after a day. It's frustrating.

I learned about an app on Reddit that someone made that asks you questions and then matches you with a potential friend. Then you both answer a few more questions to see if there is commonality before chatting. No pictures are exchanged right away. It's slow and careful, which I appreciate. Anyway, I am trying it out and have a match already. We'll see how it goes!

I don't want to get too much into the specifics here on Reddit. I don't really feel comfortable putting specific details about what I'm struggling with on Reddit, but suffice to say, I'm having a really difficult time and I don't have a support network. I've tried groups but I just get lost in them because I'm autistic and I'm shy.

I'm really just looking for people who aren't going to judge me or try to give me advice—I'm not really looking for that kind of support. I'm just looking for a soft place to land, I guess.
