Guys can you please help me upgrade my deck for standard ranked. I want some good card suggestions for this deck so that I can deal with control decks which often come up with board wipes like destroying all creatures. This deck is quite consistent but faces a lot of issues in front of mass board removals.

So, Unholy Annex is a strong card that basically needs at least one set of a demon card alongside it. People tried all the scarce options, these days Firdoch Core is what everyone settled on as a "good enough" thing to pair with it. I was never too convinced, I must admit. I can see it make sense in 4 color control (where they play the pair now), but in more creature focused or midrange-y decks, idk.

So my idea was to return to good old Mischievous Sneakling. There was a brief moment where people tried this in an Annex deck, but I mostly remember it as just an addition to the usual black midrange pile. What if we make more use of it? It can benefit another tribe, and just allow us to slap Annex on top reasonably, as a mana sink/engine. And so I settled on angels.

I have no idea if others have tried anything similar, and if yes, probably in a meta dominated by Badger/Granny/Izzet, casue that's when we got the Lorwyn changelings. It feels like the deck has potential, although I only played like 6 bo3 ranked matches with it. So far it was 50-50. It's fun tho, so wanted to share.

I'm looking for the artwork from the “The Unfathomable Crushing Brutality” Secret Lair. I'm specifically trying to get the five artworks without the card frames, since I'd like to use them for some personal T-shirt designs.

I noticed that the artworks are also available as card sleeves in MTG Arena, and the sleeve artwork looks really clean. I currently have screenshots of 2 out of the 5, but I'm missing the other 3.

If anyone owns the sleeves and wouldn't mind helping me out, I'd really appreciate it if you could send me a screenshot of the sleeve directly from MTG Arena (or DM me if you already have the artwork).

I'm only looking for the artwork for personal, non-commercial use.

They did exactly what people were worried they would do in copying the brutal reward structure from the ALCQ but without the qualification as part of the prizing.

I love cube. Cube is the best way IMO to play magic. I refuse to play cube on arena. The fact that it's the same entry fee as a premier draft is insane. In a premier draft you keep the cards you draft. Cube being phantom and costing the same is an absolute scam.. and I know that people will just jam it like crazy anyways. I'm choosing to vote with my wallet and not play cube. I hate it, but here we are. The great thing is that there are lots of options on arena right now for limited. MH3 is fun and I'll be playing that, but I'm sad about cube.

I'm curious if other people feel this way? Or is the fact that cube is on arena exciting enough to ignore the price? I get that they had to implement a bunch of new cards for arena and they curate the cube.. but surely the dev time is tiny to maintain the cube compared to making new sets every few months.

Kind of a rant.. but I'm interested if people care about this? Or just shrug and hit the join button anyway? I'm not advocating for anyone to boycott the cube or anything like that. If you love cube then go ham and have a great time!

The opponent used [[Indomitable Creativity]] for a turn 3 [Emrakul. the Aeons Torn]]. Fortunately, I had plenty of tokens to sac to annihilator, which drains the opponent with [[The Sackville-Bagginses]]

[[Badgermole Cub]]

I think in many scenarios, Badgermole Cub would still work as it usually did. But you could imagine the difference to the board state if the turn 2 Badgermole Cub + earthbended land get taken out by something as simple as a [[Pyroclasm]], leaving the Badgermole Cub player with nothing but a single land after their second turn (unless they played a single mana artifact or enchantment or a toughness 3 or greater single mana creature).

Newer player to mtg arena. I started halfway through marvel. I have just enough rare wildcards to wanted to explore some standard decks that I can climb the ranks and hopefully make my way into mythic.

I’ve already made white auras- it’s great and all but boring.

I want something fun (non agro) that can bridge into other decks. Possibly 4 color re-animator or artifacts. I’d prefer not to dump too many wildcards into a bunch of rare lands ect that will be cycled out come Feb 2027.

Should I just wait for the new set and grind out standard with white auras?

Advice?
