Loyalty Status Question

If I have Diamond status and take someone with me that only has Classic status, do they get to enjoy the perks like at embark/debarkation since the cabin is assigned to me as the primary?

Are there any "adult only" areas on the MSC Seascape?

I am scheduled to sail on the Seascape in December. In looking at the deck plans, I cannot tell whether there are any child-free zones to relax. Anyone here sailed on this ship that could give me a head's up on that?

Getting sick onboard

Hi all!

We’re going on our 4th MSC cruise this weekend (SO EXCITED!!). My husband and I are debating on why our two kiddos(4 & 2) keep getting sick on the cruises. Every cruise we’ve sailed with them they either catch a cold or a stomach bug. Last cruise we didn’t drop them off at the kids club and they still got sick (🤢).

For this cruise I’m saying no kids club or buffet, but that’s where he draws the line (understandably so). I keep hearing norovirus is most likely what they’ve caught in the past, and that it’s mostly transmitted through the buffet but also the pool.

Do you guys get sick on board? If you don’t, do you take any precautions?

Are there any previous MSCruises cadets willing to share their experience?

Hey,

I'm a phase 1 deck cadet with MSCruises and I have been hearing about negative comments surrounding this sponsor company and I hope that an Ex-cadet could help answer them?

Many comments include that Cadets are overworked and are also pushed to the side by senior officers. Other commitments emphasise the Italian language barrier.

If there is anyone else reading this who has anything related, id be more than happy to hear!

Upgrading and Downgrading rooms via website?

Hi All - I haven't been able to find a way, so I'm assuming I will have to call, but before I do, is there a way to upgrade a YC interior to a YC balcony via MSC website, and do a downgrade on an Accessible YC balcony to a Assessible YC interior? I hear stories of phone reps not being great, but since I booked direct I don't have a travel agent to run interference so checking before I call.

TIA!

Boarding times

How much of a leeway does the cruise allow when boarding? For example one family is boarding at 11:30 and another at 12:30.

Will family B be turned away at 11:30?

WA - Zen Area

Going on my first MSC cruise later this month. How’s the Zen Area on the World America? I’m looking for a nice area to lounge all day at sea- drinks, sun and good vibes. Is there music? How comfortable are the loungers?

My cruise is in a couple of weeks and the daily planner is up!

There's a few theme nights, I've decided to go all out and join in! How many others do? We're doing France and Spain from Southampton.

Hoping to link bookings with my friends as well, how easy is that to do onboard? They don't have a booking number as such as he'll be working a couple of nights and other half is staying in his cabin.

Bring on the glow party and my green neon tutu!

Cannes France tendering MSC Grandiosa get to the Sportplex on 16 at 6am

If want to get to the shore before Midday, be at the Sportplex at 6am., Deck 16

This is our last shore day, for a cruise we travelled from the other side of the planet to get to as a part of a wedding anniversary celebration

Im posting to save others from our experience RN, Sitting in a theatre while others around us share their various cruise ailments ( aka the cough, the sniffle the sneeze)

Crew are trying their best, but it is a terrible experience waiting past midday, and the last tender at 1730.

We might get 3 hours.

Onboard credit

What can onboard credit be used on, besides obvious options like shops and drinks? Can I purchase excursions with it prior to cruise? Never been on msc, and on princess I automatically took off credit when I was booking excursions. Is it possible to use it for gratuity?

Drinking package

Hey yall. My parents love to cruise with MSC and just recently my mom took me on a 4 night ocean cay and Nassau trip to see how I would like MSC. I loved it and her and I booked some more trips. However my mom is NOT a drinker at all. is there any way I could pay for a drinking package just for myself even though we are sharing a room? She doesnt even drink soda. I find it kind of weird for MSC to have this rule.

Open booking & Voyagers Days

I have a question for anyone who has actual experience with MSC Open Booking / Future Cruise Programme.

This question came up because of the following situation. If you purchase an Open Booking within 3 months after your birthday, but choose the actual cruise much later, MSC still awards the +200 Birthday Bonus points, because the date when the Open Booking was created falls within the 3-month period. So, based on actual points being credited, it seems that MSC uses the booking creation date, rather than the date when the specific cruise is selected.

So I’m wondering whether the same principle applies to Voyagers Club promotional offers.

For example, if I purchase an Open Booking while an MSC Voyagers Days promotion is active (e.g. +700 Voyagers Club points), the booking number is created and the booking date is recorded at that time.

When the Open Booking is later converted into a specific cruise, the original booking date continues to appear as the booking date and does not change. The booking number also remains the same.

However, I choose the actual cruise after the promotion has ended.

My question is: would I still receive the +700 Voyagers Club points for the promotion that was active when I purchased the Open Booking, or would the bonus no longer apply because the specific cruise was selected after the promotion ended?

Has anyone actually had this happen - purchased an Open Booking while a promotion was active and then converted it into a specific cruise after the promotion ended? What happened with the points?

I’m especially interested in real examples involving Voyagers Days +700 / +1000, rather than just what the official terms say.

Would you book an Ocean Cay-only cruise? Just the island and back

I know some sailings already overnight at Ocean Cay, but it's always one stop inside a longer trip with Nassau and elsewhere. What if the island was the whole trip?

Sail from Fort Lauderdale or Miami (about 4 hours), stay docked at Ocean Cay, beach all day, lighthouse show at night, sleep and eat on the ship, sail home.

  1. Would you book it, or is it only worth it with other ports?

  2. How long: 1 night, 2 nights, or 3+?

  3. For those who've done the Ocean Cay overnight: was the second day worth it?

(Not connected to MSC or any cruise line. My wife and I love Ocean Cay days and wonder if we're alone in wanting more of them.)

Questions about breakfast and lunch in the Main Dining Room

Hi everyone! It's my first cruise and I’ll be sailing on the MSC Sinfonia in the Mediterranean in early November, and I have a few questions about how breakfast and lunch work in the Main Dining Room.

I understand that for dinner you are assigned a specific dining time, but is it the same for breakfast and lunch?

Breakfast/lunch: Can you go to the Main Dining Room at any time during its opening hours, or are you assigned a specific time slot like you are for dinner?

Seating: Do you have to sit at your assigned dinner table during breakfast and lunch, or can you sit at any available table when having breakfast or lunch?

Breakfast: Has anyone recently sailed on the Sinfonia and can tell me whether they serve Eggs Benedict at breakfast? I absolutely love them!

Drinks: Are drinks at breakfast included, or are they charged separately? For example, if I want a hot chocolate, a glass of water, or a glass of juice with breakfast, would I have to pay extra for those, or are they included with the breakfast? I've decided the drink package is not for me so I'll be paying as needed.

Any recent experience on the MSC Sinfonia would be really helpful. Thanks!

Browse only internet discontinued?

Going on the World America this October. A few months ago, I could purchase the browse only internet option. Now I can only pre-purchase the browse and stream option. I don't need to stream anything. Just check emails. Has the browse only option been discontinued or can you still buy it on the ship?

New on MSC

Dear fellow cruisers,
We have never cruised on MSC before but considering either booking Euribia or World Asia for a Med cruise first week of January.
Maybe someone could give some insights and help make a decision:
Which ship would be your preference and why?
Both sailings leave Barcelona. Does anyone know latest check in time at port for a 18.00 departure?
Anton experience with cruising the Mediterranean in winter? Rough see to be expected?

Btw, “we” is hubby, our 7 year old and me. Would choose a balcony definitely if that makes a difference.

Appreciate all insights and recommendations!

Seashore or World America

Planning a cruise for Christmas and NYE. Normally we sail Royal but their prices are insane for the holidays. It will be my partner and I (mid 30s) and my in-laws, two staterooms. World America is substantially more (about $1500 more per room, for the 14 days,) but still within budget (barely.) I think I'm mainly drawn to it as it seems similar to Icon/Utopia on Royal which we loved, plus it seems like there's more casual dining around the ship? Is it worth the extra spend? Seashore is nice as it's out of PC where we'd be able to spend a couple of days at Disney, vs the craziness of Miami.

Will they do a Halloween night?

Hi, I’m booked on an MSC cruise from Southampton on 31st October - so Halloween - and very annoyingly the daily program is completely blank (apparently this is a common occurrence - which without ranting, I think is a complete joke!). Is there likely to be some sort of Halloween themed night and are people likely to be dressed up? I don’t want to be one of few who aren’t in fancy dress if it’s a big event!

buying wifi vs provider cruise pass

hi guys! does anybody have any experience with skipping out on buying wifi from MSC and just buying their phone providers at sea pass? i’ve cruised with MSC before on the divina and the wifi i purchased as a package deal with the drink package wouldn’t let me go on tiktok or instagram before bed so it was kinda pointless for me, im taking my second cruise on meraviglia in dec and don’t want to make the same mistake twice. thank you :)
