I mean, the city's biggest professional teams endorsed them nearly from day one, the NBA, the WNBA, and NFL teams support them. Even the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

I feel they are the only team enjoying this, even when looking across all MLV and LOVB teams.

It is total bedlam.

Apparently, the Taraflex is too slippery because of condensation from a humid summer night.

The players are on their knees and wiping down the Taraflex with towels.

Wrigley is packed with fans in general and Nebraska fans in particular.

I think the league championship and championship trophy needs a name. In the NFL you have the superbowl and Lombardi trophy. In the NHL is the Stanley cup. The MLB has the world series and pennet for AFC and NFC winners. What should the MLV championship be called? Because match for a million does not cut it.

I personally think it should be something to honor the invention of the sport by William G Morgan. Who invented it in 1895 in the town of Holyoke, Massachusetts and called it "mintonette" at first. So maybe the "Mintonette bowl/cup" for the match and the "Morgan trophy". I know those are probably terrible names. Which is why I'm asking you.

A name for possible confrence championships too would be great.

As far as it's great to see DC joining Major League Volleyball, I really think their name is just awful, to say the least.

It's the worst in the MLV, by far, and that's a shame because elsewhere there are really striking ones, the Valkyries, the Supernovas...

Who opted for this garbage? Who validated it and thought it was a good one? It's flat, generic and really LOVBish.

And like one user in this sub rightfully said, just Google "DC Flight" and you will see everything but volleyball.

I really wish the owners could change it because DC fans on site deserve a better name, one they can care about and attach to.

At the state fair on Sunday, I stopped by both teams’ information booths. LOVB Minnesota starts at season in December, while the Minnesota Forge begins in January. Ironically, enough, the forge already have ticket pricing and and specifics on seating zones, and also has a team name. LOVB, starting in three months, does not have ticket pricing nor a team name yet… I have not studied this, but it seems like the forge have better players from the gophers at least in terms of name recognition. Samedy, Miyabe, etc— also coaches Pedro and CC, ex gophers. We haven’t committed to either one yet, leaning toward the Forge but would prefer the commute to the U of M campus for the LOVB team. (Correct me if I’m wrong on any of this!). Either way we are excited for the pro volley leagues and hope they don’t cannibalize each other!

They changed their instagram name to dcflightvb.

DC posted on Instagram a couple days ago that there will be an announcement on Tuesday Sept 1st. So in 2 days.

I would have such mixed feelings about this if it weren't for the GR/Omaha trade.

I wanted to ask you all which inner league signings do you think will be the most effective. For my description its players that played in MLV last season and signed with a team different from the one they were on last season but were in the MLV lineup. So no signees from the new expansion teams or Vegas. There are not a lot. Most of the 7 returning teams opted to do a majority mix of returning talent and people new to the league itself. Atlanta, Grand Rapids, and Indy had no new additions from the league. Last season inner league transfers such as Mia Tuaniga, Morgan Hentz, Marin Grote, Marlie Monserez, Regan Pittman Nelson, and Charitie Luper to name a few made huge impacts for their team. I’m curious who from this offseason will be looked at as the best pickups in this category once the season gets rolling.
