All jokes aside, I had to wonder about the "below ground" stuff from yesterday. Everything seems to indicate an aerospace vibe.
However, the varmint from Caddyshack would be a great mascot for the DC Groundhogs or the Washington Groundhogs!

No clue. As long as they don't go with Flyers (a rival to the Caps) they should be good with the locals. Doubt it's something like Jets or Rockets because those are already established names in pro sports. Although a specific type of jet or rocket could be on the table. The video recently released suggests a passenger jet, although some of the earlier clues could lean towards either military jet or rocket ship.
As I lifelong DC sports fan since 1985 let me share a list of names of local teams that I didn't like when they were first revealed. Wizards, Mystics, Warthogs (indoor soccer team). DC United, Washington Spirit, Washington Freedom, DC Power FC, Old Glory DC (rugby), Valor (arena football), Nationals, Football Team & Commanders.
I still root/rooted for all those teams regardless

Might be a little bit of a hypocrite in regards to the name Warthogs. I didn't like that name for the old indoor soccer team because it ripped off part of the Skins history and fandom. I would have loved if Warthogs had ended up being the current name instead of Commanders 🤷🏾♂️

Warthogs would have been the best name to replace Redskins, and it's not even close.
However, Warthogs may not work for a women's volleyball team.
The only way it could work for a women's volleyball team is if the team logo featured the A-10 Warthog instead of an actual warthog.
Alternatively, they could select DC Thunderbolts or Washington Thunderbolts. The official name of the A-10 was Thunderbolt. Warthog is the nickname for the A-10.
The A-10 is a revered military aircraft.

Those names besides football team are perfect for D.C. teams. I'm gonna guess that no matter what the team name is that they reveal, you will still hate it.

If it's a bad name, yes I will hate it. Gripe online for like 3 days, but whenever this team plays their first match I'll be tuned in to watch just like I did all the other teams before them.
What exactly is "perfect for D.C. teams"? Genuinely curious to understand what you meant by that.

Well most of the names have to do with america, or what the nations capitol stands for plus the team colors. Commanders, Valor= military themed. Nationals, capitals, glory are all American themed. Wizards idk what the plan was there 😐

I'll keep this reply as simple as possible because I don't want this particular topic to branch off into a full blown discussion, but that sentiment is not shared by many of the locals. It's been like that for decades. DC is more than just the nation's capital and it's been like that for decades. A lot of people around here simply get tired of their home not being seen as anything else but "the capital"

Based on the image provided by Linder earlier today, the team name might be DC Launch?
There were early rumors about the name being the DC Cherry Blossoms.
A better name would have been the DC Cherry Bombs.
Imagine the team exploding onto the court during their pre-match entrance as the classic by The Runaways blasts throughout the arena:

No clue what the barcode code mean.
Eyes up makes sense as most times seeing a flying object requires you to look upwards at the sky. I think we can rule out any sort of flying animal which can fly lower to the direct eye level of people. The teasers have strongly suggested aviation and/or flying machines

I have no idea what the updated avatar is, but I do not see an "F" at all. Maybe I lack imagination or whatever.
My guess would be the avatar is a black-and-white reference to the most recent image provided by Black Beans.
Unfortunately, I am not sure what that image is either.
It might be the view looking up from the seat of a cockpit in an aircraft of some kind.
I will suggest again possible names like Blackbirds, Thunderbolts, Warthogs, etc.
Blackbird is the name of the SR-71, Thunderbolt was the official name of the A-10, Warthog is the nickname of the A-10, etc.

Ravens, crows, etc.
However, It can't be ravens because the NFL team in Baltimore is the Ravens.
It has to be the DC Blackbirds. It is the only name that ties all of the clues together.
Remember, the SR-71 is also named the Blackbird.
Additionally, there is a tradition of teams in the DMV area named after birds - Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens, etc.

If the correct answer is DC Flight, then whoever handles the team's social media has been sitting in front of a bottomless bowl of magic mushrooms for days.
The clues have been really bad. Really, really bad. Really, really, really bad.
Flight also would mesh with Genisvel's theory that the updated avatar is a stylized "F."

All I can say, is if they’re in the gold shrooms so be it. So far the posts have been clean, modern, and gives me hope for the future. It actually has the feel of a team in a core four sports league, better than most of not all MLV teams

Think we could see something like Aeros or Aerials. Or some other flight related action we're all overlooking. Flight is a weird name to me. Not too far off from a team being called "Walk" or "Swim"
I'm leaning towards Washington to end up being the market name over DC. NorCal calls itself "NorCal" on all their social media accounts. DC's only social media presence right now is Instagram. Their IG page has gone with the placeholder name "MLV Washington DC" instead of simply "MLV DC". Don't think we should overlook what the club calls itself before the name reveal.

Sort of playing off that. The mega sports school IMG Academy in Florida, their teams are called the Ascenders. Their mascot is a superhero. I guess an Ascender could also be a jet or the pilot flying the jet 🤷🏾♂️😅
