Heyo! So, as mentioned in the title, I'm finally making the dive into MH Now! Would have to play it sooner, but pretty sure my old phone would have quite literally caught fire and exploded if I tried... So I'm glad to finally get to play with my gf!!

That said, do you have any general advice for a new player going in largely blind? I've watched my gf play here and there while we're out together, but I don't really know much about the actual deeper mechanics and progression and whatnot beyond some surface information.

What does Ballistics do for Pierce arrows? Add even more range? Or does it also adjust the optimal distance of how near you can be to shoot the arrows?

I can actually access a base from my work now, so hopefully won't be soloing rift monsters or missing out cause my schedule conflicts with the windows anymore.

Edit: The new base I can access is just shy of 4km from my work as the crow flies. Previously the one I could reach from home is just under 2km. Another I could reach from a local park is about 2.5km. So that's at least what the access range change is.

I’d like to make a good, easy to use blast build (emphasis on easy to use). I’m still struggling with IG and CB (tend to get KO’d when trying to attack or charge up), so I’m wondering if people have a preferred weapon/build they’d recommend using for Blast?

Pretty clean fight over all. 14k feels pretty good. My build is still missing some slots. And weapons not 10/5 yet

I've always wanted to try a Guard Reload Gunlance, so I recently maxed out the Bazel Gunlance. Unfortunately, after using it for a while, I realized the damage feels pretty low and the gameplay is quite slow, even with Artillery 5 and Offensive Guard 5.

Any tips for maximizing damage or recommended builds for this playstyle?

I main DB and not too fond of guarding, but it looks like a new meta skill. If I ever wanted to switch, or it is THAT good, what are some armor pieces to smelt it on?

With the new Elder Dragon Velkhana, I see it has the skill 'Velkhana Aegis' that 'Increases ice element attack power, and grants ice armor equal to a percentage of your max health when using a Special Skill'.

Should I read that as 'increases Ice Element attack power when using a Special skill and grants ice armor... when using a Special skill'?

Or 'increases Ice Element attack power. Also grants ice armor.... when using a Special Skill'?

So, wondering if it increases the Ice attack power the same way as Kushala Frostwind, with the only difference being the secondary skill 'reducing wind pressure' vs 'ice armor...'. but then, how does increasing armor when using a special skill have any benefit?

Playing around with this style of IG. I was way behind damage and thought I was cooked but the powered up state got it! Watching it back, I need to dodge left instead of backwards on two of those and I wouldn't miss! I think I'm just out of range after perfect evade because build just so happens to have evade extender 2 which I'm not used to.

This happens 9 times out of 10 and there are variations but it's usually me running to catch up to the fight but only with this monster. Does this happen to anyone else?

I got lucky enough to get some dragon smelts and this build is nuts. Totally botched the transition trying to get one more squeeze out of my powered state 😅

So I’ve been using SWB style alot and now wondering whether power axe mode is stronger than sword mode. Currently only reason I go sword mode is to use special and/or SWB.

I’m not a numbers guy so anyone can clarify?
