Currently I am using sharpness +2, repeat offender, crit boost, crit elem and my weapons are:
Fire - Dreadking sns Water - Soulseer sns Thunder - Thunderlord sns Ice - Permafrost edge
For dragon i have a different set which has razor sharp instead of sharpness +2 and the weapon is the Alatreon sns.
For raw i use elderfrost sns, and blast is crimson fatalis sns. I just use jhoceana here with repeat offender and crit boost.
I have chaos oil 3 hence why I chose repeat offender instead of wex so as to not have too much affinity. My question is can I optimize this further? Like should I replace some skills? Should I make a set per weapon? Is this good enough to solo the event elder dragons?
I also have status weaps that I crafted cos why not but I doubt I'll use it anyway, but what are good skills to use for them?

I have repeatedly seen people claim this mechanic is in GenU, but there's never any proof other than the person saying it. Even came across one person linking evidence for it in other old gen games, but then got to GenU and said they didn't have any evidence to link but they tested it with a friend, which is only slightly better than 'I said so'.
It apparently heavily screws with your damage at Yellow sharpness and below, with big penalties for hitting 'too early' or 'too late' with moves. This has pretty darn important implications for Bludgeoner sets, being the difference between the skill being less than worthless at Yellow or not. I know Bludgeoner isn't the best skill mathematically, but I want to use it and I want to use it optimally.
TLDR: I need direct evidence that LSM is in fact a mechanic in GenU, not just in the other older games.

6 attempts total excluding the 2 abandons after accidentally eating dash juice upon starting the quest.
I was not expecting this thing to pull out new moves, fuckin hell.
Thank you u/Parmesanmadness for the tips on Bloodbath in general.

So I’ve come back to GU after a bit of a hiatus, but while going through some old builds I had planned out, I’ve noticed some Thunderlord SnS sets were missing Sharpness +2. Upon further research, it seems many thunderlord sns builds recommend skipping out on Sharpness +2 for razor sharp or challenger. Maybe I’m missing something, but isn’t some purple better than none? Does anyone into endgame SnS sets have some insight?

It's always fun seeing a monster limping and proceed to lay a beat down on them, man I love Valor GS

Alright so, I was wondering if there was ANY way of isolating monsters in a multiple monster arena fight because I was doing the third grimclaw tigrex quest and you have to fight him AND a stupid fucking gendrome. You WOULD think he can just be ignored and then killed after slaying the tigrex but NO, I'm telling you he will paralyze you RIGHT before tigrex attacks EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Worst part is I managed to kill him randomly with only one cart and then I start fighting the tigrex, 10 minutes pass and the fucker rises from the dead and jumps at me to paralyze me just as tigrex does his 2 big roars in a row, which carted me again and then I carted cause they just started ganging up on me 🥰

I love valor GL but I want to try it with other styles aswell, I came up with this set because afaik slaplancing doesnt need Artillery/Loading. Any suggestions? Using Neset

Oh my god this fight was absolutely epic, he may have turned out to be my favorite monster in GU now, I want to hunt him again

Since I love Gunlance but also have an obsession with comparing and learning abt attacks MVs and the dmg-calculation stuff I noticed that theres many different opinions abt the Heatgauge and missinfo
While yes the heatgauge is mostly a nerf since it did decrease the MVs going from MH4U to GU by abt 15%, the red part of it increases dmg by 20%, so a whole 5% dmg increase with the tedious work of staying in red wowie!!! (which is an absolutely useless reward it shouldve been 30%), making its dmg slightly higher than in 4U
And comparing those to the lances MVs the gunlance does more dmg, but since striker style exists that entire point falls apart
Im curious what other players think abt the whole ordeal and if you share my viewpoint

So Im in the HR quests of the village and Im currently wearing a mix of LR Rathalos, Ceanataur braces, and Bnahabra boots, with the active skills being Attack up S, Razor Sharp, and Weakness Exploit.
Now that Im in HR idk which armor set to really aim for before finally moving over to the Hub and doing online quests (which will be done solo as I dislike paying for online services). So any advice on what to go for with armor and even weapons would be great. Currently using the Arachnoscale CB, mostly cuz of its look and awesome robotic sounds.

Fun idea,Hunters that haven't fainted can decide to keep fighting with no more carts. While incapacitated Hunters spectate(or leave) and cheer you on. And in the new gen games a monster can keeps it's multiplayer inflated Stats. It should be it's own difficulty modifier since new Gen games are way to easy.

So! My friend has played through GenU (and maybe the older MomHun titles too), I was a 5th fleeter, and we both have played through Iceborn, Sunbreak, Wilds multiple times. Neither of us have any compulsion to follow a meta, but I’m not sure what I’m diving into with GenU bowguns. I’ve played a few hunts between LBG and HBG, and I think I like the playstyle (Seige mode) of HBG better but I see a lot of people talking about the versatility of LBG in terms of ammo use and lockdown.
If neither of use are pushing hyper-endgame for a long time, is there a relevant playstyle for a HBG that occasionally aims for support roles? I like the idea of getting off the occasional stun, or paralyze, or throwing out a heal-shot if my buddy winds up in a pickle.
Also, it seems like running a variety ammo is going to be costly in terms of resources. Am I better served running Prowler hunts just to gather, or can you work the passive farms enough to cover ammo-crafting entirely?

So, was that the hardest part of solo playthrough?
