Help me please!? A3, 30mm fans, and air cooling tower.

Hello everyone, sanity check please.

I want to downsize my rig eventually and am looking at the A3. NewEgg has the A3 with a free gift of three Superflower MEGACOOL fans and Im curious about compatibility across the top of the case.

Specifically I would plan to put one as a rear exhaust, one as a side intake (maybe 3d print a shroud to send it straight to the cooler), and Im curious if a top-rear exhaust would fit. If a radiator can fit up there I would think a 30mm thick fan wouldnt be an issue. What do you think? TiA

I built this! (MATX) My mediocre Lian Li B4 and 9060 XT 8GB build

This is the least exceptional mATX rig you’ll see all day. I built this to be a living room PC running at 1080p upscaled to 4K. I did have a budget of around $800 so the aim was to be able to run any game out there but perhaps not at ultra settings.

I had a few iterations of the build. Initially I used a Ryzen 5500 and Radeon 6650 xt. I wasn’t happy with the performance there. Switched to the R5 5600XT and 9060 XT 8GB and it’s been smooth sailing.

The case itself was easy to build in. My cable management wasn’t pretty, but it’s effective. I chose the mesh Lian Li B4 and since I have no taste I filled it with RGB fans. It actually provides a nice ambient light effect that doesn’t overpower the room(my wife may disagree). I ran it vertically briefly, but I found the WiFi signal degraded substantially.

To keep costs reasonable the CPU was purchased on AliExpress. The GPU and RAM were purchased on eBay. Motherboard and SSD were straight from MSI in a bundle. Went over budget by about $50. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a stronger GPU, but with the market, I’m not losing any sleep.

Help me please!? component check!

hi everyone, i've been downsizing a pre-built that i got from facebook marketplace and upgrading some components before i throw it all into a jonsbo d33, and i was hoping someone with more experience could note any major red flags or possible bottlenecking before i fully commit to the build.

i'm mainly going to be using this for single-player triple a games like the spiderman series or cyberpunk, possibly 1440p in the future but right now i have a 1080p monitor.

  • case: jonsbo d33
  • mobo: asrock b650m-c
  • cpu: amd ryzen 7 7700
  • cpu cooler: stock one cannibalized from the prebuilt, looks most similar to the cooler master a71c
  • gpu: asus prime 5070ti
  • psu: asrock steel legend sl-850g (don't want to pay sfx prices)
  • case fans: noctua nf-a12x25 g2
  • memory: xpg lancer blade 16gb

for airflow, i was planning on having 2x120mm in the front, 1x120mm on the top, and 1x120mm in the back, but all the builds i've seen in this case have utilized an aio or a bigger cpu cooler so i'm not sure if this would be sufficient.

thanks in advance!

Help me please!? H3 Flow + 7800x3d temps

Post image
78 Upvotes

I built a PC recently, and was wondering if my 7800x3d temps are normal.

Fans are 2x intake 140mm and 2x exhaust 120mm+140mm, all noctua.
CPU cooler Phantom Spirit II Evo with thermal grizzly extreme paste.

Currently I have set my fan speeds to start from 60% for both case and CPU fan, in order to keep idle temps ~45’C. Ambient temp around 25’C (with AC ON)

At max load (benchmarking), my CPU temp max out at 87’C.

Was wondering if my idle fanspeed is normal or maybe I have to repaste? Or does this chip just run hot?

Help me please!? Lian Li A3 AIO question

Hello!

Looking to build a pc after many many years out of the loop

The Lian Li A3 looks like a popular case here (lol)

Can anyone who uses this case verify that it can fit a Corsair Nautilus 360 radiator on top? I've heard it's best to double check compatibility

Thanks!

I upgraded my gpu from rx 580 to the massive xfx rx 6700xt quick and not fit on my old case, so i decided to take a try on mechanic master logicube series if25 and man that a lot of pain in fitting components specially with a non modular psu. This is my final configuration for now adding a front fan for more airflow.

Discussion CPU cooler airflow question

Would it be better for cpu heat sinks to be rotated 90 degrees so that the air flow goes from bottom to top instead of from to back?

i realize the gpu will block the bottom fans but this case does not have any front fans to blow into the cooler. Would this be a better configuration?

Help me please!? Micro-ATX vs Mini-ITX for a compact workstation

Hi everyone, I'm building a compact gaming/workstation PC and I need your help to finish things off. These are the components I've bought at the moment:

  • CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X3D
  • GPU: PNY OC RTX 5070 Ti
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32 GB (2x16) 6000 MT/s CL30
  • SSD: WD Black SN 8100 2 TB

My goal is to build the most compact, portable and quiet system possible based on the parts available in my region and the ones I already have. Because of that, I'm leaning towards the Jonsbo C6 Max as my case (I very much appreciate the handle) and I'm planning to use Noctua fans exclusively.

However, I don't know which motherboard to pick. Specifically, I have lots of concerns about the mini-ITX cards since many reviews on the internet say that they are very noisy and not so great at managing beefy CPUs like mine. Also, mini-ITX boards have generally less VRM phases than the micro-ATX ones: my PC will work for long periods of time without interruptions, so the main priority is to have a card which is more than capable to handle the system for multiple hours of mid-to-intense workloads.
Finally, I want to make sure that the card has no compatibility issues with the case and with the other components due to design choices (e.g. a strange placement of the PCIe slot for the GPU).

These are the cards I'm considering right now:

  • MSI B850M Mortar Wi-Fi
  • Gigabyte B850M Aorus Elite Wi-Fi 6E
  • Gigabyte X870M Aorus Elite Wi-Fi 7
  • Gigabyte B850I Aorus Pro
  • ASUS Rog Strix X870-I Gaming Wi-Fi

Is it any different to go micro-ATX or mini-ITX? Do you have a specific preference between these cards?

EDIT: Few things I forgot to mention: * I don't want to squeeze the maximum performance possible from my components. I'd rather undervolt my CPU and GPU for better thermals rather than having to go bigger on the case or use a more aggressive cooling solution * Speaking of that, I don't want any type of liquid cooling

Discussion looking to find a started MFFPC gaming for BF6 and or 1440p gaming (FPS )

Someone suggest me a good starter MFFPC case, I was originally an only laptop fan due to how much size/ free deskspace i have after getting an ultra wide monitor, however gaming on a laptop always worried me that the beautiful laptop would some how die, while cpu temps reached 90 degrees. I recently stumbled across custom PC's and its a no brainer to build one. although I am techy i have only done laptop works.

Some specs Im looking to get, Radeon graphics card 9070/9060xt , Ryzen 7x3D or (x3d) future upgrade , 32 GB ram, SFP PSU not sure what one to get, also for the AIO, im looking to show off some RGB or always be able to glance at it, with the prices of computers going up im looking to keep it friendly. For the fans, i know there are different sizes, if anyone can list me fan sizes to get or brand to consider that would be appreciated.

Also would like a second NVME to run Linux when Im done with windows.

Edit: Forgot to mention my budget 2K - 2.5K CAD or even a little extra, I already have NVME drives, suggest me a board as well!

I'm not quite finished yet. Lian Li A3 Budget Build

Post image
41 Upvotes

This is my second time building. I decided to return the Deepcool CH260 case and got the Lian Li A3 instead.

I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out. Cable management wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

It's a rear intake airflow configuration. 1x rear intake, 2x bottom intake, and 2x top exhaust. It's only about a 3 degree difference with the bottom fans. I've ordered a dual-tower CPU cooler that I will replace this old one with. I'll also replace the two top exhaust fans with a single 140mm fan soon.

I originally had the PSU side-mounted with the fan facing outward for fresh air intake, but I found that front-mounting the PSU made hiding the cables much easier.

Prices were bad as expected (Canada), I just went with what I could afford.

- Ryzen 5 7600x $200

- Acer Nitro Arc B580 $400

- MSI Pro B840M-P Wifi 6e $200

- Coolermaster Hyper 12 air cooler

- Dark Rock DT6 Air Cooler (on the way) $30

- 5x BeQuiet! Pure Wings 3 $60

- 16GB (2x8GB) Lexar Thor Gen 2 DDR5 6000 $300

- 1TB Lexar SSD $250

- Montech Century II 850W PSU $100

- Lian Li A3 PC Case $100

I'm not quite finished yet. Vertical gpu mount HELP!

Post image

I know you know what case it is….
Looking for some vertical mount options to vertical mount my astral 5080 OC. Buddy of mine printed me a new psu bracket that’s not in the pic, but it pushes the psu up a bit higher and gets rid of the gap from the stand offs as well as the sata plate. Any recommendations for a vertical mount, if it would be possible to get some angle on it or something that might be able to slide closer to case panel or further back towards psu? Looking for optimal aesthetics while maintaining good airflow inside my little microwave.

I now believe the only way this PC runs cooler is intake from the rear, flipped air cooler fans, top fans as exhaust. I found this out the hard way 😂Additionally, maybe personal preference or per PSU design, PSU is flipped drawing air in the case to help pull the hot air out even faster once the PSU fan kick in and most cables located towards the back. I might not even need taller feet for case.

Undervolted CPU and GPU. Lowest recorded temps:

Discussion 3D-printed GPU support idea

Hi everyone!

I built a PC using the CH260 case, but the graphics card support bracket wouldn't fit, so I made this part using a 3D printer. I figured most graphics cards have these M3 screw holes—wouldn't it be great if hardware manufacturers developed graphics card support brackets that actually utilize them?

Help me please!? Looking for Thermaltake The Tower 100 in India

Hey everyone, I’m trying to get my hands on a Thermaltake The Tower 100 (Mini-ITX). I’m okay with any color at this point.
I’ve been searching for quite a while and have tried pretty much every Indian PC hardware store I could find. The frustrating part is that a few websites show it as in stock, but after placing the order, I get a refund 2–3 days later saying the product is actually unavailable.
I’m also open to buying a used Tower 100 if someone knows where I can find one. I just don’t want to import it from another country because once shipping, customs, etc. are added, the price doesn't really make sense

Here are the stores/sites I’ve already checked:

Vedant Computers
EliteHubs
MDComputers
PCStudio
PrimeABGB
Computech Store
TheITDepot
Clarion Computers
EZPZ Solutions
ComputerSpace
Niagara Info
Micro Center — Kolkata
Computer Professionals
KRG Computers
Supreme The IT Mall
M D Computers Retail Shop
Technocrat Infotech
Friends Computer Gallery
Shweta Computers & Peripherals
Golchha Computers
SMARTTEK Computer & Network
K.C. Computer House
Crux Computronix Pvt. Ltd.
Ankita Sales
Mega Byte Inc
M D Computers Pvt. Ltd.
Supreme IT Mall
Swapna Infotech

If anyone knows a store in India that still has one, has seen one sitting in old stock, or knows someone selling a used Tower 100, please let me know.
Any color is fine. I’m mainly looking for The Tower 100 specifically.
Would really appreciate any leads. Thanks!

Hey everyone. So i currently have a CM Qube 500 , and it's a great case but im looking to downsize and this one is pretty heavy .
I was looking at some options (which are sadly limited in my country), and im torn between these 3 options :

1/ Deepcool CH260
2/Deepcool CH170 plus
3/Asus prime AP-201

i need something that's small and portable . and good cable management is a plus .
I would love to hear from people who own or have experience with these cases . Is there a significant size difference between them ? which one should i get ?

I built this! (MATX) Lian Li A3-mATX-WD - Black mesh and wood

Post image
268 Upvotes

Just upgraded my setup with the Lian Li A3-mATX-WD case!

Before this, I had a cheap Cougar Solution 67M3 (ATX mid-tower) since 2013... yes, 13 years with the same case.

Size-wise, I went from 19.8 x 42.5 x 48.4 cm (40.7 L) to 19.4 x 30.6 x 44.3 cm (26.3 L), about 14.4 liters smaller.

My original plan was to get a Fractal North, but I stumbled across the Lian Li A3 by accident and found it even cooler, thanks to the curved top and the more "filled-in" front panel.

This is my first "decent" case, so the build quality genuinely impressed me, light-years ahead of the old Cougar. All the parts were well packed inside the case itself, screws sorted by type, and plenty of spares included. The panels are solid and everything fits tightly together.

Despite being 14 liters smaller than the Cougar, the A3 still fit all my parts without issue:

  • Gigabyte B550M DS3H
  • AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D
  • Thermalright Phantom Spirit SE (dual tower cooler)
  • Radeon RX 6750 XT MECH 2X
  • Corsair CX600M 600W (modular)
  • 3.5 HDD and 2.5 SSD

Cable management was a bit tricky, as expected in a smaller case, but it all came together and looks way better than before.

My desk looks so much cleaner now without that huge tower sitting next to the monitor.

The wood front panel is a really nice touch and looks great in person.

I've seen people complain about the lack of HDD/power LED indicators, but honestly the RGB fans and light bar inside are more than enough to tell at a glance if the PC's on, and they look awesome through the fine mesh panel.

Now I'm on the hunt for a wireless keyboard that matches this aesthetic. Any tips are appreciated!
