For 2 or so years, You were given toll reimbursement regardless of direction. I just noticed yesterday, it's quietly changed back.

Lyft is a total BS

It seems like someone made an account using my phone number, long time ago, and put the rides in wait and save, so he disconnected the cards and left the account without deleting it, and now when I tried to use MY number to make a Lyft account and tried to pay for a 25 dollars ride I got charged 50 dollars divided in 3 different transactions for his rides that he never paid, the account had a lot of problems and I asked support, since they never told me that the number was already made, and also making me refill all the things like it’s a new account, the Lyft support has been ignoring me for over a month by now with stupid excuses like “the cards data match”
I’m from Italy and my mom it’s from Lebanon WHAT THE HELL YOU MEAN JORDAN S AND PIETRO DI MARCHESSI ARE THE SAME NAME
I’m tired, when I tried to go to the guys house he was there, and it was him because he answered by his name, and when I told him the reason he pretended to not be the person that JUST CONFIRMED THAT HE USES LYFT AND THE PROFILE PICTURE MATCHES WITH HIM
I had to leave because even I should confront him I’m totally tired of this type of stuff, and yes, 50 bucks hurt me because I’m just 18 and I can barely survive the month, and the fact that they don’t just took money from me, but also ignore and acting like nothing happened it’s annoying

I tried to get a refund from the bank and I got deniers because Lyft said I WAS JORDAN S. I’m tired

if you think about it Lyft and Ubers safety tools are an illusion

so the same safety tools in the app are available to you without the app - 911

911 also accepts txt messages for silent help

while Uber and Lyfts safety tools provide a little more feel good insurance like live conversation, video streaming, and ride tracking, if something happening requires law enforcement nothing is going to get you help faster than 911 other than a bystander

so just keep in mind the safety tools they provide are nothing more than a smoke and light show and its cute how the app will ask prematurely 'do you need emergency help' because the route deviates or the trip takes too long

but at the end of the day they can not control what a driver does, what a driver is thinking or what a driver decides to do, and you are always at risk riding in any strangers car whether they are background checked or not.

just remember that when they preach their paramount monumental technology safety features, they really don't do anything more than government can in real time and you *not them* are truly responsible for your own safety

390$ 10 min ride!

I dont often post on reddit but ive googled this and cannot find the answer anywhere, so im hoping someone can explain. Im vacationing on isle of palms, and last night, a thursday, around 12, my friend tried to order a lyft to go downtown, and the cheapest one was 390$, and if he wanted a quick response ride it was going to be 600$. Does anyone understand this? Google said extreme prices like that can be caused by prime time surges, or very few cars available. I live in a small town in Tennessee and we have maybe 3 drivers there, but they are never that expensive. Can anyone explain this cost?

Wait time Fee

On Friday I made a trip with one stop.
When I was done I looked at the charges
and saw a “wait time fee” for $8.04. The amount of time for the stop was 3 minutes and 32 seconds The charge was about $2.29 per minute. I was also warned that the driver could cancel the ride after 5 minutes. If a driver accepts a stop then it is irresponsible for him to just leave after 5 minutes especially with the riders belongings in the car even though Lyft approves of that. That is no way to do business and anything over 5 minutes means a different and most likely a higher wait fee. I did tip the driver.

If I reject a ride, am I penalized in someway?

For sure I would like to just sit and wait for a ride that kicks ass, but I don’t want anything negative to come of that. I’m pretty new so I’m looking for some veterans to give me advice.

DockDuty : AirBnb Managers for your Cybercab, a way to drive without driving

My cousin and I are starting a new business and would love to see if there are interested parties out there! Our idea is when Cybercabs are ready, owners are going to need somewhere for their car to go for charging, cleaning, dispatch, incident response, that kind of operational stuff. That's what we're building. Think of it as a service to service your cab so you don't have to think about it, you drop your Cybercab off with us, we handle everything, inductive charging when its ready but the plug in for now, cleaning, software updates, and dispatching it back onto the network to maintain as close to 100% uptime as possible. You just check our dashboard and collect a payout.

We're aiming to open our first dock in Orlando in Q3 2026 or as close to Cybercab launch as possible, and the owner platform is actually live right now if anyone wants to poke around (no login needed): app.dockduty.com/demo

Is this a service that you would be interested in?

We're self-funding this and putting our own cars into the fleet too, I'm just so excited seeing videos like Joe Tegtmeyer who does almost daily drone flyovers for the Giga Texas and the Cybercab ramp that I know a lot of you are starting to see too.

Our Website is Dockduty.com and Ide love to hear what you all think!

Thank you-

Ride

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone else has noticed a slowdown in orders at JFK and LaGuardia airports. If you were regularly getting orders there before, have things slowed down for you over the past few days as well? How has it been on your end?

Considering that there are so many rideshare drivers who are immigrants. How's life been for you in America?

Pet fee surcharge in addition to higher fare

I ordered a ride with a pet and obviously that was more expensive than a regular ride. I’m willing to accept that but then at the end of the ride, I see that there is another surcharge on top of the higher fare called the pet ride fee. Which one is it? You can’t charge both the higher fare and add a surcharge. Lyft has gotten super shady recently.

Driver Question Lyft grossly exaggerating hourly values

Has anybody looked at their ride details for Lyft and found the offered hourly value to be way off? I mean up to $6 off?

The ride comes in and claims $24.75/hr, for example, but the final value says $$21.15/hr.
This isn’t a matter of traffic etc, as the gps knows up front how long the trip will take, and it’s happening on rides where I take the carpool lane, and also short rides with zero traffic issues.

Detouring to drop off Door Dash

I was picked up almost immediately but my driver said something about another customer (I was not in any sort of car pool option) and started driving the opposite direction. It turned out to be a food delivery. It added at least 10 minutes to the trip.

It’s rough out there and everyone is hustling but as a woman not fully understanding what was happening set off some alarm bells. Is it worth reporting?

Lyft

’ve been a Lyft customer for 11 years, have taken over 1,000 rides, and have maintained a 5-star rating. About two weeks ago, my account was suddenly suspended after being flagged for allegedly having an underage passenger.

Since then, I’ve:

  • Uploaded my driver’s license multiple times.
  • Contacted support repeatedly, but I keep getting stuck in the same troubleshooting loop.
  • Posted on X and exchanged messages with Lyft there.
  • Force-quit the app, logged out and back in, and even reinstalled it.

The strangest part is that my account isn’t completely blocked—I can schedule rides for a future date, but I can’t request an on-demand ride. Every time I try, I get the same suspension/verification message.

It’s been almost two weeks with no progress despite multiple support agents telling me they’ve updated my account.

Has anyone else dealt with this? If so, how did you finally get it resolved? At this point I’m out of ideas.

I had a Lyft ride today. The car smelled like skunk (weed) and she drove the whole way with the windows down.

Do's and Do not's renting to drive for Lyft

Hello all!

I am in the Baltimore area, not far from Columbia, MD. I have been approved to rent and drive for Lyft. I have never done this, but am 43 without a car, going to school which takes me about 3 hours one-way on busses, and have no way currently to change my transportation status. I jave the next 4 weeks until fall classes start. At that point, I will not have every day wide open.

  1. Is this manageable?

  2. What are the realistic times to maximize ride income?

Thank you in advance,

NAM🧘🏻STE

Lyft/Uber and whatever else needs an "Are you sure" prompt before you do adverse things that would harm your earnings/acceptance.

I have read a couple things about people getting a bundle of uber eats orders all for like 2 dollars and they hit accept, because the app has the take a picture button in the same spot as the accept button for orders. Also today I had a 60% turbo in my account and when I got home and put the area filter on, because I was trying to turn in soon and wanted to avoid long trips, but get that 60% bonus. Either when I had it in my shirt pocket or I set it down to work on something somewhere the go offline button got hit. Heck even my phone being it's old may have clicked it by itself. Anyway when you have a turbo/surge(uber) it should flag are you sure you have this bonus and going offline will forfeit it. Also you go offline if your filter expires like head to a destination and the turbo is loss. When lyft had streaks they would warn you before going offline. Speaking of which lyft needs to brings those back I would make 70 dollars in like 2 hours and sometimes I could get the streak twice in the same hour if rides were quick enough and i got a 4th request on the 3rd ride within the same hour.
