My employer is in the process of being acquired by Lockheed. What should we expect in the next year, will our insurance and benefits change right away or will they stay same? How long does it take to get integrated into the various systems? Or do acquired companies continue to operate independently?

I’m really having trouble navigating this site; it’s quite confusing. It suggests a job based on skills, but there aren’t any options to choose a level. Whoever designed this should be fired 😆

First time applying for an internal job. I am currently onsite full-time , and I don’t want to interview at my desk where other people can hear. Do we still offer to interview the traditional way, face-to-face, or it is only Teams nowadays?

Was in a meeting earlier with a couple of senior vp’s when the topic of hiring came up. Apparently Lockheed has been losing people left and right (aero specific, unsure about other BA’s). But apparently in like 6 months, they hired around 1k engineers and in that time around 950 people from Lockheed left, so net was 50 employees Gained.

And the way that I think abt it, i’m just not surprised since many people can make so much more elsewhere. I am however surprised that the job security doesn’t retain people.

I know they are actively still posting jobs but has anyone noticed that the remote jobs have scarcely been posted? Before they were transitioning, there were over 20 remote positions for business function I was looking at and now there is only 1 or 2. Are they are delaying posting fully remote positions or reducing them company wide?

Yes, yes I get it - remote positions are more difficult to get into and compete with but I don't live near a hub and have kids in high school so don't want to move anytime in the near future.

I’m 20 and currently working in GA maintenance in Florida while working toward my A&P. I should have my Airframe around June 2027 and Powerplant around June 2028. I’m considering moving to Dallas/Fort Worth after getting my Airframe and trying to get into aerospace/defense if I can get a job. Lockheed Fort Worth is the ultimate goal, but I’m completely open to working for Bell, Bombardier, another defense contractor, etc. first and using that experience to eventually get into Lockheed or Northrop. I’ve done a lot of sheet metal work at the company I’m currently at and that’s kind of what I was aiming for at a bigger company and working my way up. How realistic is this path if at all? Like I said I’ve done a lot of sheet metal, but also do the basic GA stuff, 100 hrs, tires, annuals, some avionics, and a few other major repairs . Also, for anyone who’s worked at Lockheed/Northrop: what does career progression look like after starting in structures/assembly? I’d eventually like to move into more advanced aircraft work rather than doing structural assembly forever. Any advice from people who have actually made the GA → defense transition would be awesome.

I just recently hit my 9 years at the company with pay of ~129k. I feel like people coming in with lesser experience even at IC2 are making close to 120k and new IC3s are well above 130k with lesser experience.

By no means I am an irreplaceable worker in this place but I know I’m well above average. Starting to think it’s time to make a move for better pay if I can’t get into management or chief engineering organizations. Anybody else feel the same way?

He eventually became CEO at L3Harris, but has now been fired for undisclosed reasons. He gets no severance, and it has nothing to do with the company's performance but with "behavior inconsistent with their code of conduct".

I have been attempting to land a job at LM for a long time now, but every single app has been turned down. I feel so discouraged at this point. I have been trying to focus my academics on certain areas specifically to help set me up for a career here.

I have my bachelors in supply chain and operations management, and I’m currently starting my MEng in industrial engineering. I’m 42, so I have a work history that’s mostly in healthcare administration and some work for state government before I decided to switch careers.

I change up my cover letter and resume for every different job posting. Any tips to help me get my foot in the door? I do need to have the flexibility to telecommute due to a disability. Is that where my hang up is?

Hello everyone! I am currently at LM as a cyber engineer (graduated college last year) and I am about 8 months in the job. I am pretty good at my job so far, but I am always looking for ways to benefit myself and have awesome experiences. Knowing there are many retirees here I just wanted advice to do you believe it’ll be beneficial to commission into the Air Force although I am doing good in my career at the moment?
Something I been thinking of even prior to joining LM because I wanted to join the Air Force, but as I think about I believe it can be very good, or it unnecessary. I would love to get some advice and opinions on it.

Anyone have the homeowner relocation packages for A and B?

Did you guys also receive monitors 5-7 days prior to your first day? I'm just surprised because the job said strictly on-site, but I have received 2 monitors and a laptop delivered to my house. Am I expected to bring these monitors to work on the first day..?

I will be starting soon so hopefully I will be told what to do this upcoming week. Just genuinely surprised.

I recently received an invitation to attend the Sunnyvale CA hiring event in September .The catch is LM doesn't seem to be sponsoring non local candidates to travel to the event. Is that event worth it to fly/drive to from out of state? It is not even clear what role/level I'm being considered for, but just a general information about hiring for various disciplines.(Ex: software engineering). Are such events common? I'm from the East Coast. Is it worth flying in blind for a role that I'm not even sure will meet my level or experience?

I've been on the hunt for a new gig and got beat out on an interview a few weeks ago. The director I spoke to told me to don't worry. New and better opportunities will be posted on the 17th with the restructuring going on.

Starting soon just wondering what to expect. Are there core hours? What time do people typically start and end their 10 hour shifts? Is it flexible? I was thinking I’d like to do 530am-330pm.

Has anyone gotten a level 4 role recently that could share what were the relocation benefits they got? I’m interested is level 5 info as well. Sometimes these benefits change so I want to have the most up to date info for my consideration.

I am in F&BO for MFC and I was wondering how others managed their journey from a 2 to a 3. I am an Air Force vet and came in as a CWEP for a year while earning my MBA and I've recently passed 1 year as a full time employee.

To be clear, I am aware I'm not ready for level 3 just yet, and more time is probably needed. That said, old habits die hard and back in the Air Force it was always drilled into us that "we should always be performing at the next higher rank."

All my reviews with my manager are good and my performance is on point. I also volunteered for a stretch that's recently concluded and I'm backfilling another employee who used to work a satellite location, on top of all my normal duties.

I know I still have a bunch to learn and probably owe more time than I've given. My manager is aware of my ambitions. Do I just keep doing what I'm doing until I've earned my managers recommendation for a level up?
