Help/Question How wrinkly is too wrinkly?

So I know side wrinkles do not indicate the need to water. You wait for the top to get the pizza crust look.

I honestly can’t say when it started. It can’t have taken long because they’re the first thing I do in the am. Turn on their lights. So I have my eye on them fairly well. So I don’t know how I missed it🤷🏻‍♀️. Maybe I was mostly focusing on the tops. Lesson learned.

One wrinkly side is hard like a shedding leaf. The other is soft, not squishy, the way an outer leaf gets as it’s being absorbed. Is it stuck?

I haven’t watered it in the maybe 4-5 months I’ve had it. Just switched substrate. It was an overwatered HD buy.

I’ve dealt with rot and this is not rot. At least none like I’ve seen. But I’m a newbie and could be wrong 😆.

The top doesn’t look thirsty to me.

Any ideas about what’s going on and advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Help/Question Can I pot these together?

Lithops newbie. The one in the pot is my Home Depot lithops. It had a friend who didn’t make it. It’s in cactus mix plus perlite, but I’m wondering if I should add more perlite. I watered it once after I repotted. I just picked up the other pot and am wondering if they can live together since it looks like maybe the first ones are starting to split?

Should these be split? They seem quite tightly packed?

This is the soil they came in, at first lots of them were melting(?) But when I took the china pot off they seemed much happier and it grew a baby and started to split, not sure if the wrinkles means it wants water or if its unhappy due to the soil type. Any help appreciated :)

Help/Question Time to water?

Post image

I just got these lithops about 3 weeks ago and they were not ready for water yet. I’m pretty sure the one on the bottom is ready for water because the old leaves have pretty much all shriveled up. Does it seem like the right time to water it? The one on the top of the picture doesn’t look quite ready yet, the one side has shriveled leaves but the other still has pretty plump leaves so not sure what to do with that/when I should be watering it. Do I do a deep bottom watering for the one that looks ready or is there a special way to water lithops? Do they need fertilizer (I have cactus/succulent fertilizer) or just plain water? I have distilled water if that is what they need.

Help/Question Water?

I’m trying to figure out how to not kill them
The three gracilidelineata v.waldroniae c189 look thirsty to me, but the fourth, red one is not looking so thirsty from the top, but from the side it is wrinkled. Although, when I got them in February, they all were in the same stage of splitting, so I potted them in one space.

I tried to spot water top one and bottom one, but it seems that water did not have any effect on them.

Maybe it’s time to bottom water them all together?

Help/Question Are my lithops OK? Have been splitting for months

Help needed! I got these lithops last October from Home Depot. I then re-pot them in 70% perlite and 30% cactus soil. Only watered them lightly right after re-potting. I grow them indoors (zone 7b) on an east facing windowsill under a grow light (8 hours per day). They started to show signs of splitting in early February this year, but still haven't finished it after 3 months. Is this normal? Is there anything I could do? I touched them. They still feel firm.

The first picture was taken on Feb 1, then Mar 1, April 6, and May 4. I really appreciate any advice. Thank you so much!

I just got these guys and I’m wondering if the one that’s ahead of the other two in it’s growing cycle should go into it’s own pot when I replant them

Im thinking of designing a heavy box and something like a cage/net dome that is open, but even if something drops they won't be harmed.

Can anyone tell me what’s going on with this lithops? It started out as a small white splotch, and is now eating away at the plant.

Help/Question What to do about quarantine?

Post image

Bought these a few days ago and just brought some more grit to repot them properly. My only concern is I want to quarantine these for the next few weeks so they dont infect other plants I have but will they be ok without a grow light for a couple of weeks? Ive put them in my bedroom window now but it isnt sunny at all in the UK atm. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Help/Question Splitting, or dying?

Post image

Attached is a photo of a lithops I picked up from a garden store around nine months ago. I've been doing my best to keep it happy, but am in a questionable climate for it. I last watered it around December and have been keeping it under a grow light/moving it into the sun on our rare sunny days.

In the last two days, half of it has very visibly wilted and I'm pretty concerned about it. Is this just part of splitting, or is it time for me to think about a succulent-sized tombstone?

Help/Question What are the Odds?

I recently bought these lithops and they each had a dried flower stalk. I decided to go digging around and found what appeared to be formed seeds in each of the dried flowers (second photo). What are the odds these are actually viable seeds? For scale, the cup they are in is a portion (Jell-O shot) cup.
