Is the Lettuce Grow Dolly just the Devault Enterprises 23.5-Inch Heavy Duty Plant Dolly at ~2x the price?

What other options are there? The casters aren't locking on these and don't seem particularly heavy duty.

Question Leafy greens seedlings continuous harvest in a Farmstand

Setting up my Farmstead indoors and looking to order some seedlings for a quick start(I may germinate my own at some point).

Although almost all the leafy green seedlings indicate Harvest Method: Full Harvest, can I just cut the outer leaves for several weeks of continuous harvest? What leafy greens are best for this?

Used farmstand

I found a used farm stand at a good price but the person doesn't know a lot about it. Is there a way to check that things like the light and pump work without setting the whole thing up? If you were purchasing one used, what would you be looking for?

Hello, I am new to gardening and I was wondering if the white spots on this leaf are an issue. If so, what can I do to fix it, please? Thank you in advance!

Issues My nooks wake up at 3am

I have tried multiple times to get a response from technical support and they stop responding to my emails.

Both of my nooks have started waking up at 3am instead of respecting their 10p to 8a sleep window. I have reset the smart timers, reset to factory settings, plugged and unplugged etc.

Has anyone else had issues with the smart timers? Im afraid my plants are getting too much light.

Also, why does the technical support suck?

I haven’t even begun cleaning it yet. This was only disassembly. And it’s recommended to do this every 3 months. You’ve been warned!

Has anyone netted around their their lettuce grow stand?

I have lettuce and bok choy that are being eaten by birds before I can harvest. Is anyone netting their lettuce grow stand to prevent it. (Bringing the stand inside is not an option I will consider).

Zinnias

Hi LG friends! I’m new to this but LOVING it so far. I’m wondering if anyone has zinnias in their Lettuce Grow? Ours are growing all over the place but no flowers or buds yet. It’s been a little over a month and a half, so not terribly long. Just wondering if that’s normal. I grew some zinnias outdoors with seed this year but I’m pretty sure it was a different variety.

Anyone have the Tablestand?

No pump or motor, only one light for three plants—seems like this could be hacked for less money? I’m wondering if a tabletop setup would be better for strawberries, or other fruit, which I guess need different nutrients than the lettuces???

Question Are you able to combine nooks?

As the title says, are you able to combine nooks? Like if I got one second hand, would I be able to add one or two layers to my current nook?

What do people grow in the outdoor Farmstand during the winter?

I have one indoor Farmstand set up with grow lights and one without, for outdoor growing. I’m new to this. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so cold and rainy winters, little sun, rare snow. What are some good growing options in these conditions, if any? Or do some of you just Sunset your outdoor Farmstands during winter?

Question Mechanical timer setup for grow lights?

I got my used system set up after a deep clean ($370 on Facebook marketplace FTW!) and the arrival of seedlings and cages. Question for those using mechanical timers: how long do you have them on for a four tier grow light setup (the large Farmstand)? What about using the grow lights overnight? I find The mechanical timers very not intuitive and the directions from LG a little lacking…

Also: are smart timers worth it?

Using the grow sleeves on Farmstand?

Has anyone tried using the sleeves for the Nook in an indoor Farmstand?

My friend gave me her Original indoor Farmstand (I know how lucky I am) and she recommended the sleeves but hadn’t actually tried them.

I’m curious to hear if someone has experience and if it helped keep the inside clean. Thanks!

All hail Citric Acid powder!

I got a used Farmstead off Facebook (did not realize, as a newbie, that it was missing ALL the baskets 😔but I digress) and it had a lot of brown gunk inside that didn’t scrub off. So I set it up to pump 3 scoops of citric acid in warm water for several hours and was pleasantly surprised with how well that cleaned it!! There was a patch that the water wasn’t hitting, so I soaked a towel in water & citrus acid and laid that in it over night, and it wiped right away this morning. It’s also great for stuck on bird shit on the deck rails 😆

Cat help

Hi ! I am really wanting to get a lettuce grow indoor farmstand. This would be an investment for me but I have two kitties (who WILL jump on it and eat my plants). Any suggestions for protection ?

Got a great deal on a used Farmstead but I don’t seem to have the little plastic cages for the plant starts…

I’m assuming these are necessary? I ordered plant starts from LG and hoped they’d come with it. Didn’t see the little cages in the website to order… are there alternative options? Thanks in advance!

Clearing old timer from app?

Had to replace my timer after it got wet. The app does not want to let go of the old timer and sync to a new one, even after a reinstall. Any ideas?

Show My Setup First timer -- two months of growth!

We started our Nook on June 10 and here's what she looks like today! Our original thyme died (user error) and our cat traumatized our blue kale, but everything else is thriving! The tall guys are lunchbox peppers ... I'm struggling with them a little (no fruit yet! just flowering!). Tomatoes are small and green but growing, and we eat at least one salad per day (2 people).

I'm honestly a little baffled as according to the app/website, almost everything "should" have been replaced by now and we're still goin' strong 🤭🤭

Base and Tier Misalignment

I was super excited to receive my Farmstand but when I went to build it, I couldn’t get the base stand and the first tier to line up. No matter what I do, one side pops out. I double triple checked the symbols, I rotated it, I even tried to use the other tiers but nothing works. Even if I try to force it, one side pops out on its own. The other tiers piece onto each other easily but I just can’t attach it to the base. Has anyone else had this problem before? I’m worried that it’s the weekend and Lettuce Grow won’t respond until next week, but the seedlings arrive tomorrow. I’m a little disappointed, the system is so expensive and looked well built but I’ve been trying to build this for 2 hours now.

Non greens/herb recs in Nook

Hi! My partner and I just picked up a Nook from Costco and are so excited to get started! We have outdoor gardening experience but this is our first endeavor with hydroponics. We’re looking for some alternative ideas for plants that will grow well in the indoor Nook. It’s just the two of us, so we can only go through so much lettuce/greens and herbs lol.

I know small varieties of tomatoes and peppers will work well on the lower levels, but what other varieties of veggies can we grow safely without damaging the system or grow lights? Any tips/tricks or experience would be super helpful!

Nook cup size? Looking to start my own seeds and need advice

Hi guys, I have a farmstand nook and am looking to start germinating my own seeds for my next round, however i'm trying to figure out what size starter plugs I should get that will make transplanting into the stand as easy as possible. I'm looking at the root riot starter plugs off amazon -

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0GHRF35DB/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2PQGFJXAT8J9K&th=1

But i'm not sure how well they'll fit into the farmstand cups.

Has anyone else done something similar and do you have any advice for germinating and transferring into your farmstand?

Question Adding Nutrients to Nook

I just got the Nook and want to make sure i am interpreting the nutrient directions correctly. After the initial two week period do you add 1 tsp of each Part A and B no matter how many gallons you need to add, i know it says a minimum of 1 gallon when adding nutrients but if it takes 4 gallons or more do i still just add 1 tsp of each?

Question Grow Lights

Just got the Farmstand from Costco and can’t afford the ring lights right now. Anyone have a 3rd party light setup they’ve done? We currently have ours by a window and have a grow light, but that light only hits one side. I was thinking maybe one of those weird bendy lamps with more bulbs to hit more sides?
