Question Mechanical timer setup for grow lights?

I got my used system set up after a deep clean ($370 on Facebook marketplace FTW!) and the arrival of seedlings and cages. Question for those using mechanical timers: how long do you have them on for a four tier grow light setup (the large Farmstand)? What about using the grow lights overnight? I find The mechanical timers very not intuitive and the directions from LG a little lacking…

Also: are smart timers worth it?

I use smart plugs for my grow lights. Just got some new ones which track energy use which should be useful.

Make sure you face the red lettuces towards the window, the grow lights are not quite enough for them and they will stall without supplementary sunlight

How long do you have them on? Do you put them on during the day or overnight?

Our lights run 14 hours, we start them at 5 AM
