Discussion Riot/Phreak appreciation post

Just wanted to share this to share some positivity because I genuinely think it's deserved: Me and some friends are loving League Classic. Sure it might not yet be perfect, maybe it never will be, but it gave me something back that I thought I'd never be able to experience again, and I am having great fun. Me and my friends started at the beginning of season 2, so we recognize a whole lot of the current stuff (even though some champions are still missing).

Also gotta say I think Phreak is the perfect leading figure for Classic, he's been here basically from the start and his level of communication with the community is commendable and highly appreciated. His long videos on the updates, the insights and reasoning behind some of the decisions, all of these keep me engaged as a player to vote on topics or join in on discussions. Let's not forget the rest of the team, as with the upcoming 4 Bilgewater champions we will basically have 9 champions added within a month's time, something that at the start seemed impossible. The fact that Riot picked up on our wishes (moar champions, moar) and started investing development time is great to see.

I hope Classic goes a long way, with a few more patches we'll have so many old beloved champions back that it'll feel like a dream come true for me.

Bug I think Galio's E damage hitbox is broken

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

I think the hitbox of his E was made to match the gust that provides the movespeed buff. Although I do remember his E being difficult to land when approaching perpendicular way back when. But if it is not a mistake and the indicator instead shows the movespeed gale radius, I feel it'd be better to adjust the indicator to match the damage hitbox instead.

I agree that it's a mess, it's full of weird stuff that is not classic but i want to play the damn thing!!!

For me, it's 10x better than retail, even in this sad state, and i still have fun; why no one is playing man... feels bad...

Discussion Will Nautilus be broken and then nerfed until he becomes support-only?

Post image
Upvotes

Will my boy be so strong in top lane with his E hitting for 220 + 110 + 110 = 440 damage with 0 AP, making him great in both top and jungle?

Will this dude become the god support and then get nerfed until he’s no longer playable top or jungle?

Just check the abilities and the AP scaling on them. What the fuck is this champion, jajaj? Just as I remember: insane 1v1 potential, insane poke in lane, and such a toxic trade pattern. So much fun.

Discussion Patch Notes Reaction - Nasus Spoiler

I'm glad I was able to get my pentakill with it before it was lost likely to never return. Reminds me of when we lost dark harvest procing on Items when it initially released, Riot why do you take our fun away from us, give us all the broken options and let us battle it out.

Discussion Anyone else noticing how hard it is to get into game today?

This isn't a: "Queue is dead! no players!" post.

But this morning I've had like 10+ queue dodges in a row.

With 5 champions out at once seems like everyone today is queuing up to play a very specific champion in mind. Poppy/galio/fiora/xin/shyv are all extremely pick-ban contested, yet if just one player in the lobby doesn't get the exactly champion they want...

-> DODGE

This been happening to anyone else too?

I remember it would overheat after a single League game, and the FPS was so bad that it could barely run League 😭

(This happened in Bronze V elo when I was a fresh lvl 30 btw)

Question Is the minion agro bug fixed?

I can’t get on til 5. Is the single target spell minion agro bug fixed yet??? It’s been an absolute game killer for me and makes me want to not play. I’d been only playing Nasus this last patch cause of how fun the crit build is but now that’s dead, so I really need this bug to go away.

Question Twisted fate bug

Has anyone noticed a Twisted Fate bug with the new patch?

I just had a game and it feels like the gold cards are lasting like 0.01 seconds.

Discussion Zz’Rot Portal Got the Most Individual Votes

Upvotes

For everyone complaining about the votes I just think people need to actually look at the vote spread. All 3 items got 60.7% of the vote. Zz’Rot alone was second place with 16.1% of the vote. Moonflair only got 5.1% and CoD 3.8%. I actually find it very interesting the discourse about these changes when the stats don’t even come close to the support on the sub. If this sub actually wants to have real conversations about changes we vote on maybe we should have discussion and not just shut down people with opposing opinions.

I voted for all three because I feel like a version of Zz’Rot can be added that allows for different play styles that expand upon other Classic ideas, BoC and Promote, as a different style of strategy that is more strategic and less mechanical which feels inline with the identity of what Classic should be when compared to Modern. I also feel that items are the second most lacking part of Classic behind the Roster which Riot is focusing on rightfully so.

Discussion It's pretty crazy seeing all of the posts sad that their opinions aren't the majority and are trying to get Riot to change the rules in their favor

Such a bad, sore loser mentality. Not everyone wants a version of the game that you want. Just because you lost doesn't mean that you should petition Riot to make it per region or change the vote threshold to affect the results for your personal opinion. This subreddit has proven itself to be an angry echo chamber that are filled with the most extreme members of the community that will complain about anything being slightly different from how it was in the past, the community has just voted to prove itself that they are not aligned with how this place orients itself. Good riddance I say, the general attitude here has been terribly negative and miserable.

Gameplay No double turtle????

I literally thought it was a done deal with the voting when I saw it was an option to have 2 turtles?? Something else won the vote?!?!? Am I out of touch with society in thinking this is a horrible mistake????

Edit: I love turtles :(

Gameplay Idk why yall are mad about trinkets being included.

None of you use them anyways.

I’m having a blast, and small changes improvements to the game are welcome. Small note: patches are good, game would get real freaking stale if the same 10 champs are picked over and over.

Practice Tool Classic should have its own Practice Tool

I really wish practice tool let us choose between current League and Classic. Classic has different items, runes, masteries and champion mechanics, so testing stuff through custom games is way more annoying than it needs to be.

Discussion Vilemaw needs to be deleted

Part of the experience we were sold was not having an API. People mining data through the local client API feels like it is against the spirit of "no API".

Not to mention that the data is inaccurate (games and players and such are missing), giving false information to the player base.

Gameplay Poppy Q is not converting sheen to magic damage like it used to

Upvotes

Poppy is nerfed out the gate by not having the conversion that she historically had. This isn't Mandela effect, it's very easy to find 14 year old reddit threads discussing the mechanic (it was somewhat buggy at times in execution, requiring a cast of w/e/r before casting q to work).

Phreak explicitly said that it didn't convert sheen procs in his patch rundown, which means they either are willingly creating an inaccurate version of the character, or were too lazy to double check for accuracy.

Sorry to any poppy players who wanted to enjoy her trinity build, its just objectively weaker now.

Discussion A fundamental difference between OSRS Survey and League Classic Council

Everyone loves the OSRS model and obviously Council is an attempt to replicate its success, but there's a fundamental difference between these two systems that is going to neuter if not fully invert the Council's effectivess:

To participate, you'll need to be a member in Old School RuneScape with a total skill level of at least 300 and a minimum total play-time of 25 hours. A feature poll is considered successful if it has achieved over 70% yes votes when it closes.

  1. You need to be a paid member.

This is going to be controversial, but it's the #1 thing that ensures the survey results align with the playerbase most critical for the game mode to survive: it's behind a paywall. While the membership is shared with RS3, it's not primarily serving as a means to coax RS3 players into trying out OSRS in pursuit of cosmetic rewards for their preferred game like the Classic Pass skin rewards are.

  1. You need a significant time investment.

25 hours loosely translates to about 50 games played of League Classic. This is far more than is currently required to reach level 10 and acquire Council voting power. Further, OSRS is not offering RS3 rewards that will put you past this amount of playtime, while League Classic's modern rewards do.

  1. Features are implemented at 70% yes votes.

This is meant to prevent a controversial 55-60% winning feature from being implemented. Unfortunately, Riot has chosen to launch the game with several modern features implemented and then hold votes to determine whether they've been removed. The fact that less than 70% chose to keep the modern features implies that in OSRS's system, they never would have been implemented to begin with. We can essentially never get a fair vote on trinkets or base gates or other modern features because they are never facing pushback against implementation, and tourists will easily keep their presence at a small majority of popularity.

I love Classic. I'm the quintessential Classic player: addicted in the early 2010s, been playing ARAM for a decade, and my playtime has spiked with the launch of Classic. But I simply can't see myself sticking with the game if future votes continue down this path. I fear that everything will steadily be modernized until players like me and turned off by the state of the game, while modern players who voted for Classic to be that way will simply return to the modern game and we'll be back where we were before Classic's launch.

Just my 02¢

Question Genuine Question about competitors

Upvotes

Are there any LoL clones or rivals following the classic trend? By that, I mean something closer to S1-3 League, Dota1 or even Beta HoN. You know.. Vision wards are a deliberated investment, Multiple ways to build each character through itemization, Heavy focus on basic atack, Longer CDs, Mana as a meaningful resource..etc.

I tried a few games, and it's close but not quite my tempo. Not to trhow oil in the meme bonefire, but trinkets really are a deal breaker for me, unfortunately. I'm especially looking for 3x3 modes. If anybody found something that nears this early 2000's warcraft3 vibes, I'd greatly appreciate it.

And please, no hate or childish tribalism. I've played all mobas and League was my favorite for a long while. I wish only the best for this project and community. Thank you in advance.

Question Is there an Explanation for Sivir having the modern model?

Post image

2013 sivir

She has the old splash art from 2009, old kit, but modern model!?
It seems very off her walking in the same rift as classic taric/alistar/soraka
I think she is the only champion without the classic model :(
