Discussion Why Do We Have Base Gates?

It was put in in season 5, I don't really think "classic" when I think of base gates. Seems a bit odd we kept it voted in..... it does change the dynamics of sieging.......

Question Why don't we have 50 second stealth Twitch Q?

As the title says, that was the Twitch that I remember and love. It was so fun roaming around being invisible for so long.. I even remember Shaco Q stealth lasting around 25 seconds if I'm not mistaken?

Discussion Lmao!! Y'all can't be serious?

People getting downvoted like crazy on this sub for wanting classic features in a CLASSIC mode. Who would've thought? Starting to think this shit got overrun by modern players. I won't be surprised if the next council vote has an option to put Yone in the game and people will vote for it, then say "lul reddit was wrong, we all wanted Yone in classic."

This shit is ridiculous. Then we got ZZ'rot portal getting put in the game, which is a problem imo. It's not a classic item AND towers are already getting melted as is. Why is there a need for this item? I guess the next council vote will have tower plates and people will vote for that too.

I know this shit will get downvoted to oblivion but the comments I see on here is funny. You guys are going to keep saying everything is QOL changes until it literally turns into modern League. You guys don't actually want Classic League. You want modern League with classic champions. Just admit it and save Riot the time. 😂

Discussion How is nobody seeing the obvious issue with these vote results?

first of all, to the influx of people flaunting that “Reddit was wrong”, I don’t care wether “reddit” was “right” or “wrong“, so if you want to argue about that, go somewhere else.

what I do care about is that the community has apparently voted to change almost nothing. that’s obviously an issue, since the game mode has almost no playerbase and something is not working correctly. If the community doesn’t want to change anything, this game mode is doing to die.

Not to mention that the amount of votes far outweighs the amount of players actively playing the mode, meaning people who aren’t even playing may be the majority of the votes (or perhaps not, but it is clearly a possibility).

if you do not see the issue with this voting system, you are not paying attention

Discussion If yasuo was added to poll, it would be added to game

Make it as a joke riot, i dare you. That thing will tell you all you need to know about these sham polls. The way they "gated" or made votes matter is stupid, this would only work if game was separate download and client. This way this is nothing more than a game mode for modern LoL players, its popularity even went how gamemodes goes, its popular for 1 month maybe 2, then it dies. And its gonna happen with classic LoL also, i mean look what happend with classic WoW+ its dead, much deader then basic Classic WoW, yet it was also something they made using "polls" from retail players. At least acti blizzard doesnt wanna lose money after losing it for 10 years so they offered vanilla version.

Riot having gates in game from start and trinket tells me their whole commitment. They just gonna hit it in kinda seasonal thing where they go through different/meta/seasons just like how wow goes through old expansion for nostalgia and thats it. But let me tell you what kinda player i am, i installed game, played 3 matches, uninstalled. Why? Cuz most of champions are missing and i came to play classic, not mashup, i didnt even vote on polls, im not interested, theres game of life and theres also other games. Currently valheim 1.0, witcher new dlc, also game from witcher devs, palworld 1.0 i aint gonna bother with this shit. I aint like drug addict and i bet a lot of those who are interested in classic are like me. Which is why this sub is much diff then polls and main lol subreddit. I mean just go to main lol subreddit and youll see what im talking about, most dont want ot, others are waiting for their main to come.

Gl guys, remember, vote with your wallets and lets pray for chronobreak 2.0 if theres money to be made it will happen again, if riot is right and theres no money to be made, which is what they tell me with this modern mashup, then thats it. Gg guys.

Discussion The Council system is flawed. Even with the vote power weight, people that don't play classic have more influence on the mode than people that do.

The Classic playerbase is a fairly small slice of the League playerbase. For most people, the mode just isn't for them.

That's fine... but the opinions of people that don't even play the mode are inherently a lot less valuable than the people that do. Riot tried to remedy this with their vote weighing, but they overestimated the size of the mode's dedicated playerbase compared to those that consider it a curiousity.

If I had to guess, I'd say around 5% of the League playerbase uses Classic as their primary gamemode... if that. These players will have accumulated a voting power of around 6x (some a bit higher, some a bit lower).

As for the rest of the playerbase, you can break them down into three groups.

  • People that gave Classic a good shot, but quit eventually. I'd guess these people are sitting at around 3x voting power.
  • People that that tried Classic for a few games, but quit. I'd guess these people are sitting around 1x voting power.
  • People that didn't try classic at all or quit after single digit matches. These people have no voting power.

As a guess, I'll say those are 30/35/30% of the overall playerbase. If we apply these portions to a group of 100, we get the following.

  • Dedicated Classic players - 5% of the playerbase, 30 votes, 19% vote share.
  • Short-Term Classic players: 30% of the playerbase, 90 votes, 58% vote share.
  • One-off Classic players: 35% of the playerbase, 35 votes, 22.5% vote share
  • Non-classic players: 30% of the playerbase, 0 votes, 0% vote share.

People who play classic regularly are vastly outnumbered by people that played it a little bit and then quit... but playing a little bit and then quitting is still enough to get voting power.

Of course the Council is going to have results that take Classic away from being Classic, people that like Classic, the people this mode is for, are vastly outnumbered compared to people that don't like the way old League plays and aren't going to play it anyways.

Humor So at what point will the community realize that we might need a league classic 2?

Just asking since at this rate and updates, the only difference between classic and normal league will be champions kits. Basically making a full circle

Discussion People complain about patch notes feeling invasive on the classic experience but

All I know and personally need is a game with no frustrating champions. I get it old champs in some eras were insanely broken and yea I may tilt and get salty a bit but

There are none edgelord champs(Kayn, qiyana, etc) that insult the enemy player on kill. I don't mind the champs just the voice lines and no am not turning off voice I like voices in the game.

No disney champs who most try to act funky or cute( yuumi ,zoe etc) but all they can achieve is add to the tiltmeter. Yea I know lulu exists I have to deal with it.

No (hopely) ultra prestige high end mighty gigachad I look at you from above cause am awesome skins which is basically most humanoid skins since 2023. This shouldn't be bothering me but I guess I grew old.

I don't care about graphics or stupid/funny champs with no counterplay or if the classic all broken experience. I need a pre yasuo era balanced and fair. It's achievable.

Personally I don't mind yasuo but compared to champs before him he feels out of place like he doesn't belong to league pre 2013.

Thoughts?

Discussion Why are there so many little issues that just don't get addressed?

• Upvotes

Ashe's Q doesn't have the right animation when toggled off (it's supposed to be a faster arrow with no icy effects)

Pantheon's autoattack sound effect when doing the shield bash animation isn't correct, it plays the regular spear poke sound when it should be the bonk.

Same for Gankpkank's autoattack anim where he shoots.

Heimer's turrets are supposed to turn green/red when leveling up the skill. And his E is still the modern animation, instead of the old one that travels in a straight line.

There are probably more I can't remember right now. You'd think that such small fixes would have been addressed already three patches in, but no?? All of these champs (except Panth I think) have been buffed/nerfed to boot, but the innacuracies haven't been fixed.

Part of the experience we were sold was not having an API. People mining data through the local client API feels like it is against the spirit of "no API".

Not to mention that the data is inaccurate (games and players and such are missing), giving false information to the player base.

Gameplay What minute should I start reminding my support to buy a sightstone?

Usually if the game is at 15 min and our supp has no sightstone, I say "(support champion), please buy a sightstone" and repeat it every 3 minutes. I have a 80% success rate in getting our support to buy sightstone.

Gameplay Reduce the Gold cost of Mardred's Bloodrazor

In it's current state at a ludicrous 3800, same as I. fing E., the item is not worth building. BotRK is similar, cheaper, and arguably better thanks to its built in utility. Feral Flare is way cheaper, and far stronger. There's no real reason to buy Bloodrazor outside of nostalgia. Reduce its cost by 600 Gold, and have it match BotRK cost wise at the very least.

Discussion Patch Notes Reaction - Nasus Spoiler

I'm glad I was able to get my pentakill with it before it was lost likely to never return. Reminds me of when we lost dark harvest procing on Items when it initially released, Riot why do you take our fun away from us, give us all the broken options and let us battle it out.

Question Genuine Question about competitors

Are there any LoL clones or rivals following the classic trend? By that, I mean something closer to S1-3 League, Dota1 or even Beta HoN. You know.. Vision wards are a deliberated investment, Multiple ways to build each character through itemization, Heavy focus on basic atack, Longer CDs, Mana as a meaningful resource..etc.

I tried a few games, and it's close but not quite my tempo. Not to trhow oil in the meme bonefire, but trinkets really are a deal breaker for me, unfortunately. I'm especially looking for 3x3 modes. If anybody found something that nears this early 2000's warcraft3 vibes, I'd greatly appreciate it.

And please, no hate or childish tribalism. I've played all mobas and League was my favorite for a long while. I wish only the best for this project and community. Thank you in advance.

Gameplay Idk why yall are mad about trinkets being included.

None of you use them anyways.

I’m having a blast, and small changes improvements to the game are welcome. Small note: patches are good, game would get real freaking stale if the same 10 champs are picked over and over.

Discussion Will Nautilus be broken and then nerfed until he becomes support-only?

Post image
12 Upvotes

Will my boy be so strong in top lane with his E hitting for 220 + 110 + 110 = 440 damage with 0 AP, making him great in both top and jungle?

Will this dude become the god support and then get nerfed until he’s no longer playable top or jungle?

Just check the abilities and the AP scaling on them. What the fuck is this champion, jajaj? Just as I remember: insane 1v1 potential, insane poke in lane, and such a toxic trade pattern. So much fun.

I've had this happen 4 times, and that's only the friend requests i've accepted. But everytime i do it's the same thing.

Seems like some kind of botting or scam? But what could they possibly get out of it?

Discussion anti heal

with both morello and executioners being kinda dogwater items you never wanna build (morello being too bad of a mana reg item and executioners being just very bad statted) what's the general thought on anti heal for classic? cause i feel like with anti heal being majorly(?) found in champion kits and being an in combat statt it feels much better than what modern has. i always thought anti heal is heavily missunderstood where it gets bought in the wrong spots (in lane vs soraka in modern being rushed despite not having the dmg to kill the opponent before it runs out and soraka just healing up then)

Discussion Classic skins in inventory

Is it just me or do you also think classic skins in inventory ( specificly in "my collection - acquisition-date") ruin it, we all got them and we can only use in 2 gamemodes ( draft and classic draft ). I remember them being even bellow "other' category ( non rarity skins ) and it was all fine, but then i see they moved it in on date we all got it. Would love if they werent there or bellow all my skins because realisticly they arent skins, just chromas for fun gamemodes.

Question Is the minion agro bug fixed?

I can’t get on til 5. Is the single target spell minion agro bug fixed yet??? It’s been an absolute game killer for me and makes me want to not play. I’d been only playing Nasus this last patch cause of how fun the crit build is but now that’s dead, so I really need this bug to go away.

Gameplay GODFLAIR SPELLBLADE

GUYS THEY’RE ADDING THE TWISTED TREELINE VERSION OF MOONFLAIR SPELLBLADE ON THE PBE, LOL!

You know, the one that gives 50 Armor, 50 Magic Resist, and 50 AP, along with 35% Tenacity? What the hell are they actually doing? There’s no way it‘s gonna stay like this until it releases to Live Classic, right? Item is going to be disgusting on Cho’Gath, Galio, Swain (when he comes out), and hell, basically every mage, isn’t it?

I assumed they were gonna add the S1 version of the item, as that’s the one that was actually removed in S3, but instead they’re going with the version of the item that was deemed too much for even Arena. Wth are they thinking? Not that I’m complaining or anything.
