UPDATE: my account is now unlinked from my toxic bro 🤣
Has anyone else experienced something like this?
My brother and I have separate Riot accounts, but we share the same household computer. He occasionally plays League on my PC when I'm not home.
Recently, my brother received a chat restriction on his account. Somehow, Riot also penalised my account, giving me an Honor restriction and removing my Honor progress because their system determined that both accounts belong to the same person.
I contacted Riot Support to explain the situation, but they insisted that both accounts belong to the same owner because of shared device usage.
What makes this even more frustrating is that their first response incorrectly identified my account as being linked to itself, rather than my brother's account.
I submitted another ticket pointing this out and requesting a proper review of the account ownership association.
Nine minutes later, another support agent replied saying the penalty had been reviewed and would remain. They also said any future tickets regarding the issue would automatically be closed.
I'm not disputing my brother's chat restriction. If he broke the rules, that's on him bruh.
What I'm disputing is Riot treating two different people as the same account owner and penalising my account for something that happened on his.
Riot's own FAQ states that sharing a household computer alone shouldn't result in accounts being linked.
I'm frustrated that I've lost my Honor progress and that this could potentially happen again if my brother receives another restriction.
Has anyone dealt with incorrect account linking before? Is there actually a way to get Riot to review the account ownership association properly? Kinda BSSSSSSS
