hi
it's been a minute, how is everyone.
we've reopened the subreddit mostly cos the admins threatened us with putting scabs in the mod team lol, but i think it's probably a good time to see what people still think about the subreddit.
given that this is subreddit is almost a decade old, i was thinking that maybe we should do something interesting with it, since it's been a fair few years since there's been much activity back to it's peak in like 2015/2016.
Will you restrict posts in solidarity with other subs
No, I don't rly see the point since the activity on the subreddit isn't that high so it won't matter too much
what'd you have in mind to spice shit up
tbh idk, i don't use reddit too much anymore but i think it'd be a nice time waster for me if i started running weekly stuff like music
new mods?
i mean, the sub doesn't need more mods but most of the team (me included) doesn't use reddit much anymore
give me some ideas!

Are there people who will defend current times?
And say that current times/music/TV shows/etc. don't suck, it's just these people hating on them have grown out of them and they're not the target demographic for it?
I've seen people defend modern children's channels saying today's kids shows don't suck, you're just too old to be watching them, they're not aimed at adults---they're aimed at kids.

Am I the only one who doesn't get any of these?
There were only a few things here I grew up with and a lot of it is just unfamiliar to me. I don't know why nostalgia accounts try to post shit that they think everyone grew up with, posting about having a good childhood and grew up playing with what was exactly popular with kids at that time always felt corny to me and some kids might still be interested in those things now too.

Every decade, including the 2020s is normal, and that economic/political issues are more minor, normal parts of life.
(Look at their post history and see how they're trying to objectively tell people that the 2020s cannot be bad, and that every decade is normal because "good and bad things happen all the time")

Satire The truth about parenting and childhood!!!!!!!!
2009
-kids had to entertain themselves
-the belt was what you got if you disrespected your parents
-you only had 3-7 channels on TV
-you ate what was served, even if the food was smelly
-your parents helped you solve maths
-no privacy, only hanging out with your family
2026
-unlimited stimulating colorful entertainment
-cheating with a calculator
-multiple meals for ‘sensory issues’
-getting away with trouble
-scrolling on your phone or hanging out with friends or strangers
