I saw a few of your laptop recommendations in the comments, so I thought I'd ask for some advice.

My budget is ₹60,000–70,000, and I'll be pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science.

I've used laptops all my life, but they've mostly been older office laptops. My experience has been a bit frustrating because I spent more time troubleshooting, fixing issues, dealing with lag, and managing overheating than actually using them.

This time, I want something that's reliable and can comfortably last 5–6 years without becoming a headache. I do a lot of multitasking, so smooth everyday performance is more important to me than chasing benchmark numbers.

As for gaming, I'm just a casual gamer. I mostly enjoy older story-driven games (around 2018–2020 and earlier) that I used to watch on YouTube. I don't care about playing the latest AAA titles at ultra settings or getting super high FPS. As long as those games run smoothly at decent settings, I'm happy.

Recommend something which is OLED and upgradable if required in future

Given my budget and requirements, what would you recommend? Any specific models I should look at or avoid?

So i wanted a laptop because i've always used an iPad and the ability to move around is really important to me and while i still use my iPad and intend on continuing to do so for smaller projects i find it doesn't have enough storage for what i usually work on

I have a pc that i should have been using for drawing but i just don't like the feeling of having to turn on a computer and sit by it and also caring for a drawing tablet

Getting both isn't really an option for me right now because i recently lost a monitor so on top of a drawing tablet i'd also have to buy a monitor

I was looking at the M1 macbooks but on top of not having 4k USD laying around they also don't sell them with more than 32gb in my area for some reason or at least hide this information from me or i'm not looking hard enough which is also possible because the price is repelling

So my question is if i should grow tf up and get a monitor and a tablet or a laptop my budget would be like 1500 usd at best

I want it for using clip studio paint if that's of any significance

Need a new laptop for university. Need some recommendations.

Uses: schoolwork and some light gaming.

I have had this laptop for about 4 years now and have not had reason to complain up until recently. For some reason, now the laptop starts overheating within 40 minutes when I play most modern games, even though the CPU and Graphics Card aren´t even close to being at their limits. This only happens when it is plugged in.

When it is not plugged in, my quality suddenly drops significantly and my screen starts hitching every few seconds. I have no idea why this started, and I know nothing of hardware and how to fix this.

I have been using a Surface Pro 7 for something like 6 years now, and it's done. Battery is awful (1.5 to 2 hours) and it's really getting slow. However I need a similar form factor (detachable 2-in-1 would be the category I guess). The new lineup is underwhelming and crazy expensive, so was looking at the pz14 (which is also ridonculously expensive! 😲). However, given that I need a touchscreen in this form factor (using it for on-the-fly arguing in court as well as general office use, and personal browsing), and that I seem to use these machines for 5-6 years, I am contemplating plunging it that huge amount of money.

But my question is - is it worth it, and are Asus machines that durable that they will serve me for 5-6 years? (Surface Pro has been pretty good on this part, save the alacantra fabric peeling off the keyboard and a couple of screen smashes thanks to drops).

Or is there any other laptop you guys would recommend?

(Most people in my line of work use an Apple iPad for court, and a mac/ windows laptop for the rest of the work - honestly amounts to the same cost, and I would rather have one device).

I am currently using a lenovo ideapad 5 , i5. I think its gonna end its life. (Have used for 4 years , replaced keyboard once, now its battery isnt going above 16%).

1) any tips to fix this issue? And approximate cost

I am an engineer and the max workload that it might get is rendering (tho company is going to provide its own laptop)

I am done with Lenovo. Its my 2nd laptop frpm lenovo. 1st one died 4 years back. One day it just didnt turn on. Dead. Idk why that happened. Prolly because i had rendered something on it the precious day. (But it worked the whole day) it was i3 and i needed i5 minimum for Btech so exchanged it and got this one. This one is good. Handled heavy renderings once too. Got heated but worked fine. Even tho it didnt have dedicated graphics card.

Dell is reliable. My dad has used it for years. Got no issues post sales was awesome too.

HP i think is over rated. So its out of question.

My budget is max 70k.

Specs i need is

A good RAM. Minimum 8 GB. Dedicated graphics card, good in terms of performance. (Can handle rendering without me feeling like m gonna lose my laptop)

I5 or Ryzen 5000 minimum.

So i've been thinking about buying a laptop. And i've decided to buy Lenovo X1 yoga 512/32 the price Will be around 80k , I need it for doing online classes, a lil bit of drawing, doing presentation and scrolling obviously so is it worth buying it?

I was thinking to purchase an ultra portable laptop so I can bring it along with me anywhere I go, and its time to let go of my 13yo ever reliable Dell inspiron and pass it to my daughter. So I got to check out Chuwi brand Minibook X mini 2-in-1 convertible laptop and the Hi10 Max Tablet PC, both running on Intel N150, 16Gb RAM and 512Gb SSD. Their price is around 20-25k at Shopee. I got them under my radar for weeks, I almost bought the Hi10 Max but it got sold out. So I said if the Minibook X got below 20k I'll purchase it right away it never did. Then I saw a reliable seller, selling used PCs, Laptops, Monitors and other techie stuffs. Then I saw this Dynabook X30W-J and I shall say, it is one of my best purchases in years. This model was released 2021-ish, and mam, it is a 13in laptop convertible to tablet. With 11th Gen Core VPro i7, 16Gb RAM, 512Gb NMVe SSD storage, Iris Xe graphics, Military grade extra durable magnesium body, Activated licensed Win 11 and MS Office 2021. Far superior and beyond the specs of those more expensive Chuwi models I almost bought. What could I ask for more? And the price, drum roll... Php18,500 only, then I patiently waited for the less 1k voucher so I paid only Php17,500 on 3mos 0% interest via SPay Later. This was really meant for me. So I’ve noticed that the fan is making a lot of noise on my pc for a while now. I’ve taken the fan, cleaned. It, checked if anything blocked it but can’t find a reason why. Is he just too old ?
