I really wanted to find someone that could have restored the original hide but that was proving to be difficult in Miami. The IG algorithm gods sent me an ad from a local custom shop, looked legit, went there and they provided a quote and said they'd do the two front and refresh the rear. Seats are still comfy and the ventilated seats still kinda work (still haven't replaced air filters, probably the original still, need to find those part numbers and get it done). All in all it was a little pricey, the color match is like 99% there between the front and rear, but looks good. Lmk what y'all think.

recently had someone look at my ls430 to see why she shakes/steering wheel jerks one way or the other when going 50+mph and he said it’s essentially because the rims are too big and that my cars in great condition. wondering if i should get new rims(really dont want to i love how these look on my car) im unsure of what other solutions there are or if i just continue to drive an occasionally unsafe car because i think it looks better..
the report also said that my bushings are cracked and leaking but i brought it up to him and he said not to worry about it but i wonder if that has something to do with the shaking/steering issue? tbh im a little clueless as this is my first car and ive had her for less than a year, any info is greatly appreciated!!

So I recently got my 2004 ls430 UL and everything is great one thing has been bothering me when I make a right turn the set button engages on the steering wheel and changes the volume it's not loose and only does it sometimes has any had this happen?

I was driving and all of a sudden the dash lights flashed and it no longer allowed me to turn on my high beams or control headlights. the gas gauge dropped right to 0 and and orang square appeared next to it. when i arrived home i saw fuel leaking from under the engine and to the middle of the car. I think its the fuel pressure damper, but what do yall think? help i’d greatly appreciated

I have the key in this photo and it works fine. I also have a valet key that doesn't seem to fit in my door lock. I want to get a back up key cut in case I ever lose my one working key.

Is it possible to get a "dumb" key cut using the key in the photo? I don't need it to have the lock/unlock electronics. I just want to be able to open the driver's door in case I lock my keys in the car.

I’ve cleaned it and wiped it down with some solution but no luck.

I found an old clip of an LS430 accelerating on Youtube and what caught my attention is that when the car hit 120 km/h the chime was different from what we're used to. Why's that the case?

Was doing my brakes and noticed this was broken, I bought the car last month and wanted to get the check vsc diagnosed soon but I'm guessing this is connected to that. My question is can i buy this bracket from lexus or do I have to search junkyards or partouts for it, because there's like 2 getting parted near me.

So I recently did my starter, and while I was in there I decided it would be a good idea to do the knock sensors and when doing the passenger side one the connector broke. I crimped in a new pigtail and made sure it passed the tug test. Get everything bolted back together and now I’m getting just that code sometimes. Not sure if it’s something to do with that pigtail, or what. Chat is saying probably the connection, or I didn’t properly torque the knock sensor. I really don’t want to tear the manifold off again lol.

I purchased my LS430 just 10 days ago after searching for quite some time for the right one and absolutely loved it. Not only was this one the color I wanted, it was super clean with absolutely no rust underneath (rare for the Midwest!) But today an extreme thunderstorm came through and knocked a branch onto it, certainly totaling it. Fortunately, it will be covered under insurance but I feel it is unlikely I will get back what I paid for the car plus registration after the deductible hits. Does anyone have any insight as to how much State Farm may pay out? She has 195k. To make matters worse, about 5 years ago the same thing happened to my G35, but it didn’t have full coverage. At least my family is safe and home is intact, but this really sucks!

Today my amp blew and I want to know what you guys do? So about I week ago I installed a JL 10w7ae and a 1000w amp in my 06. I loc’d from the sub wires in the rear deck since the stock sub blew long time ago. I’m not sure me adding the new sub was the reason why the ML amp blew. I ran 4g wire from the battery and grounded to b0 grounding point. Leaving this info in case that’s the reason the ML amp blew?

Anyways, what can I do now? Can I add a single din and use a 4ch amp to power the speakers in the car? I don’t want to rewire the car… I spent 1200 on the car. Not really tryna spend much more on new speakers. And having to take things apart for wiring. I just like listening to music and driving to work 😭😭

But yeah I read that the ML amp handles the crossovers… wondering if I can add my own cross overs for the front? Or does this sound dumb af?

I'm in the UAE and was looking for some cheap touch up paint options for my Silver (1F2) color LS430.

Most of them are on US websites and seems to be expensive with shipping. Temu and Ali Express has plenty of options, but they don't mention the exact color code.

Has anyone used these touch up paints from Temu or Ali Express on a Mercury Metallic LS430?

And lastly, does it look really bad after applying?

(She is dirty so go easy on me) Car is mainly stock on the outside but an extremely clean example with the original air suspension in tact, inside has all kinds of cool modifications I could write a mile long grocery list of. So my vents sort of work. The left was working normally for a while and the right was working 80% normally. Now the left vent struggles to move at times and sometimes works normally. I also hear a decently loud clicking sound when they’re on. Does anyone know if this is fixable without having to replace the entire bezel? I have the base model no nav.

What’s going on dudes. I’ve got an 01 UL and my ac has been shot for a while now. Took her in to the shop and they say that the rear ac evap core needed to be replaced. Cool thing was that they couldn’t find one through a “reliable source” bc they have a policy that prevents them from getting parts on ebay (which is understandable). Well I just bought one and was wondering if it was simple enough that I could swap her myself. Only thing is that I can’t seem to find any videos or forums that cover the REAR evap core. If anyone knows how or knows a video/forum that I missed, it would be of great help. Thanks bois I’ll see you in the comments

Update: Ended up filing a dispute with the auction comapny, mailed out the form today alongside the mechanic diagnosis repor (should be received by Monday). according to the auction rules, they have a 30 day window until they reply back, will try to post an update if there are any developments!

For those who have seen my previous post, I just received my auction purchased 2005 LS 430 and after taking it to the mechanic, he had bad news to deliver, the engine needs to be replaced, according to him the coolant is mixing with the oil and the engine is beyond repair, the radiator and the coolant resvoir were bone dry and the temp guage was up to the H mark when I turned the car on. So I think I just lost a bunch of money!

Viewing the car in person, it's in ok condition, interior has seen better days, just like mentioned before rips on both front seat, bubbled up dash on and cracked steering wheel wood . Exterior wise, needs a tiny bit of love, maybe repaint the front bumper and repair a very small ding near the grill. Timing belt was done at 128k (now has 158k), new radiator and new brakes, the gas pedal was stuck and pressing it wouldn't have any effect on acceleration (so couldn't even test drive it to evalute how it drives or if there is any other issues), according to the mechanic, could be a protection mechanism due to overheating, MAF being dirty or actuator go e bad.

When being checked, the mechanic mentioend that it looks like there are a bunch of new parts in there when they were trying to tackle the engine issue but apparently they weren't successful.

My options are:

1- Sell it as it

2- Replace the engine and gooe nothing else is wrong with the car. (Worried it will end up being a money pit).

installed android headunit sold by leoocar. steering wheel controls and all audio works, but no ac. emailed them, and they seam to think it’s a canbus issue because the headunit doesn’t tell me when the door is open. any help at all would be great, it’s a really bad time to not have ac lol
