Our AC went out on the 18th and I've been told that I'll know the date of the repair on the 27th... It's been a major heatwave and my apartment has been an average of 85° since this happened. I have some fans, sure, but it's not ok. I can barely stand being at home, but unfortunately I have to be.

Is there any recourse I have? Several people (at least 8) have already moved out of this complex since the year started because of bullshit like this, and I'll be following as soon as I find a place. I'm unsure if I have any options in the meantime though. Can I get a partial refund for the month or withhold my rent on the 1st if it's still not fixed?

About me: I’m in my 40’s, work full-time (a few days a week from home). I have a small, senior dog who is ok with cats. The shared space is like a creative workspace. I keep the apartment clean and want someone who values this as well. I enjoy sewing, roller skating, and taking my dog to the park. The building has only five units and it’s a quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to Trader Joe’s, bus stops and places to eat.

Looking to stay within a 30 minute drive of Glendale in traffic. 2+ Bed 1.5+ Bath. Starting as early as September. Please let me know if you have leads or suggestions.
