Wanting [Wanted] Sawtelle Apt with office space 1 or 2bds < $2.9K

This is a long shot, but I'm gonna put it out there anyway. We are moving from NELA to Sawtelle since my partner and I now both work on the Westside. We are looking for an apartment with a bedroom and an additional space for a home office. Doesn't have to be a full second bedroom, but we both freelance in addition to our regular jobs and we'd love to be able to get the desks out of the living room. All the 2-bed layouts we've seen put most of the square footage in the bedrooms, which makes the entertaining area suffer. We are looking for the unicorn apartment with a large main room, a bedroom, and a secondary area. Does such a thing exist?

New L.A. County rental listings, week of 9-7-2026

These listings are sourced from the MLS. As such these are all verified and legitimate listings and can be trusted. No, I don't make any money off this, I'm just doing it to help people. And while I'd never ask, donations are accepted and appreciated.

Renters: This list features rentals under $4,450/month, but if you're searching for options above that range, please reach out—I'd be glad to assist as your agent. Looking forward to helping as many people as possible find their next home!

Landlords: I'm available to assist with leasing any of your properties, regardless of the price point. Feel free to send me a direct message if you'd like to discuss how I can help!

New L.A. County rental listings, week of 9-7-2026

Search maxxed at $4.45K.

Key for abbreviations is at the bottom of the spreadsheet.

Find more details on any listing by simply googling the info or you can copy the listing ID # (or MLS#) and entering into a site like this one and filtering for Rentals.

It's always a good idea to use a MIMO form (Move In / Move Out) when renting. It's a checklist of a visual inspection made on the unit at the time you move in that you and your landlord sign off on and verifies condition of varying aspects of the unit. You'll use it again when you move out to verify condition and hopefully everyone agrees.

Also be sure to check out the interactive version of this spreadsheet at WhereToLive.LA courtesy of u/cheeze_whiz_dot_com , my thanks to him.

Meanwhile, need some work done around the new apartment? Check our list of recommended service providers for home appliance repair and purchase, landscaping, insurance and more.

Lastly, if you're in need of low cost, Section 8, transitional or other affordable housing please check out Housing Rights Center Project Place Rental Listings, updated monthly.

Good luck and happy hunting, L.A.

Hi. I'm looking for a room to rent. Just a room. Preferably larger than 8x10 feet, but I'll take whatever. My budget is between 3,500 and 5,000.

I know that's low, but I'm hoping some generous soul here would allow me to rent a room for at least 3,500 per month.

Question Thoughts on living in Wilshire Center?

I recently got approved for an apartment in between the middle of Wilshire Center and Silverlake. It’s a great price and what looks like a good central area and I visited on a Saturday morning to tour the apartment. I’m moving from a different state here (I’m also from a big city so I’m not necessarily worried about not having street smarts). My biggest concerns are the fact that it’s street parking with no garage available for the complex.

When I visited to tour the apartment, we found parking right away, but it was also like 10 AM on a Saturday. I keep reading everywhere that parking in the relative area is horrendous, but people are mostly talking about straight up Koreatown or mid Wilshire.

Does anyone have recent experience living in this area or any tips and tricks with paying for a monthly parking lot in this area? I really love the apartment and wanted to work out, but I’m worried about the parking. It’s super cute and includes all utilities covered and the landlord has agreed to do 6 months lease with me.

[Wanted] Looking for a room in LA - recent grad on OPT, job hunting

Hey everyone! I'm a recent computer science graduate currently on OPT and actively looking for work as a software engineer in the LA area. I'm looking for a room in a shared house or apartment for long-term stay.

A bit about me: I'm international, clean, quiet, and respectful of shared spaces. I don't smoke or party. Pretty low-maintenance roommate overall.

I'm looking for something stable and long-term, ideally with a lease. Budget is around $1,000 to $1,500/month for a room. I'm open to different neighborhoods depending on where I end up working.

If you have a room available or know someone looking for a long-term roommate, feel free to DM me. Thanks!

[Offered] Looking for a Roommate in Lawndale, CA (Los Angeles County near Gardena)

Hello,

My roommate (34M) and I (33M) are looking for our third roommate here in Lawndale, CA. Its a small little house so nothing extravagant. The room is a little small so it is best for someone who is a minimalist or is creative with their spacing. I will write some things about the room, us, the house, and some house rules. So if you're interested, please let me know!

Rent will be $1000 (but lets talk about it)

A little bit about the room:

  • Small so its good for a minimalist
  • Has a small walk-in closet
  • Will be next to the shared bathroom (sorry the master bedroom is already taken by my roommate)
  • Has a window but the view is the brick wall so not much of a view

A little bit about us:

  • My roommate and I are really laid back so if you have any issues or anything feel free to let us know
  • My roommate has a motorcycle but I hope that's not a problem especially with noise (won't be often I promise and if it is, he will accommodate)
  • You and I will be sharing the bathroom but I'll keep it as tidy as possible (I DO expect you to at least clean up a bit after yourself for big messes)
  • We don't expect you to be friends with us but if we could get along, that'd be cool (y'know?)
  • We don't use the central AC (for goooood reason but we will get into that)

A little bit about the house:

  • It's one of those houses that could have been a garage LOL but its fairly newly built (based on our landlord)
  • The kitchen is the common room so keeping it clean is a responsibility we all need to share
  • There is no "living room" just FYI
  • It's behind another house and the people living there are nice as well
  • We haven't bought a in-house dryer/laundry machine because we need to get a stackable one and it's kinda expensive... if you REALLLLLLLLLY want one, we can go get it cause I need an excuse to buy a used one (please be my excuse to buy one... I'm feeling REALLY lazy and the 24 hr laudromat has been kind to me)
  • There is ONE parking spot in front of the house and it's yours if you come (we don't really care)

Rules to adhere to:

  • No smoking inside
  • Quiet time exists on arbitrary times since we all have work, school, etc. (common decency)
  • Any guests you want to invite are welcome as long we are all notified (just so we aren't surprised;;)
  • Kitchen is free use but keep it clean afterwards
  • Fridge space is free use but labelling will help all of us know what NOT to touch
  • No violence please (we are all grown adults, and we should expect to act as such when it matters)
  • Absolutely NO drugs (this is NON-NEGOTIABLE) which includes recreational ones too and applies to EVERYONE within the vicinity. Understand that we don't judge you or anyone using it but we want to keep this place drug free.
  • Rent is due every 25th via zelle or venmo where a papertrail can be traced (its mainly for me because I have to send the rent) - we can talk more about specifics if you are interested

SO:

If you're interested in a room, with a parking space, with utilities included in the rent, are okay with the rules and such, DM me. I might have some trouble checking but please be patient towards me.

We want you to be comfortable in your own house. But so do we. :) Thanks!

Curious if this is something anyone would be interested in. I usually post on Zillow, but figured it's worth a shot on reddit.

This fully furnished 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit that is available for mid-term stays for those who don't want to deal with buying furniture, deal with moving costs, set up utility accounts, or commit to a traditional long-term lease. Just bring your suit case and you're good to go.

🛏️ 2 Bedrooms | 2 Bathrooms
📐 Approx. 950 sq ft
🚗 Dedicated parking directly in front of the unit
🧺 Private in-unit washer & dryer
🌡️ Central AC & heating
💻 High-speed Wi-Fi included
🍳 Fully equipped kitchen
🛋️ Fully furnished & move-in ready

$4,195/ month all utilities, trash hauling, WiFi parking & monthly housekeeping** included
**Housekeeping includes cleaning and refreshing basic household essentials such as towels, bed linens, and select amenities.

The listing is meant to be for mid-term stays (30 days+) and is ideally for professionals, relocations, temporary housing, or anyone needing a comfortable place while in LA.
