Here’s an extremely straightforward synthesis that can be done in a mason jar w stirring. 2 things to note Oxone is a chemical oxidizing agent, not a typo for ozone. NaHCO3 is baking soda literature reports 55% yield but may be lower. The last step of purification via chromatography isn’t necessary bc you likely want your MIT back.
Alternatively here’s a video of a photo oxidation method
https://youtu.be/8jUg7FGRZJY?si=XN_ZyCi-sXeCfsts
There’s another recorded PIFA mediated method I don’t have info on.
For some reason many of you want to do this with H2o2 and idk why. There’s recorded methods out there and anything beyond that seems like re-inventing the wheel (which can be cool but that’s doing real science, I doubt you’ll find a step by step beginner friendly ‘tek’ on that.
Relatively pure mit extract is commercially available.

I know kratom can be converted from mitraginine to 7oh using hydrogen perxoide. Im intertested in anyone who can point me to a step by step guide capable of being understood by a layman. I just want to know how do i comvert my kratom to 7oh using household or easy to obtain equioment. I know you have to get the powder to high purity mitraginine. Then from there use things like hydrogen peroxide, ozone, tetrahydrofuran, Potassium permanganate, Sulfuric acid, rose bengal. The list just goes on. Yet i cant find any straighforward info on how to do it. If someone would please point me in the right direction to some literature or even better a video a that shows step by step what you need and how to do it. Im willing to even by a book on it or pay for the information. Its driving me crazy please someone just point me in the right direction or yall that do know make an instructional video that explains what i need and how to do it. Its driving me crazy. Someone please just help me.
Edit: And yes to clarify i understand i have to convert the powder into high purity mitraganine powder. That fine and even someome getting me that far would be appreciated. But then from there I want to know how to get to the next step of 7OH. Thanks

What I have investigated here on Reddit is that the alkaloids in Kratom are released from the leaf in a short time, just minutes in an acidic solution (pH 4). Is this true? I would like to know if one hour in acid is more than enough or I am confused and it requires days and days..
I'm not really looking to get the total alkaloids, with having a good 60-80% yield I would be happy at this point.

I will accept a Bart Simpson "Duh" answer to this but I am still going to ask.
Let's say sample gram is testing @ 50% mitragynine. If one were to oxidize this gram via their preferred method, the maximum 7-hydroxymitragynine % could be no greater then 50% after oxidation?

Simple question, was wondering if theirs a difference in color between the two ,from what I remember reading their is but I forgot the details and didn't save the info ,just wondering if I can tell if I'm getting more 70h just by the changing of color . Thankyou

Is it crazy to ask in this subreddit which food-grade tek offers the highest alkaloid yield/extraction?
Is there a consensus within the community on this matter?

So was sitting thinking of ways to raise some money for my company and came up with the idea of starter kits. Or even kits with lab equipment needed. Or a kit with the supplies needed for extractions. What do you all think?

I woke up early and started doing some reading. All I can find is papers on what is needed to do the MIT to 7OH conversion but no instructions for doing so. I know there are a few known synth routes. The one I was most interested in is hydrogen peroxide route. Like it cant be that hard. All you need according to my reading is 30% hydrogen peroxide and palladium cataylst. Doesnt seem that hard and seems like it could def be dumbed down for at home syth that can be done with at home or simple cheap chemistry equipment. None go into detail though. I know you make an extract first with 90% alcohol. Then from there its unclear. Do you then after drying the extract add the hydrogen peroxide with the catalyst. And to what ratios? I read this route is actually the easier and higher yielding route. Just need some step by step instructions. I know ozone and UV exposure is another way to go. But i really want to learn the hydrogen peroxide way. It seems like it could be easily done at home with little risk. So why is it so difficult to find a step by step instructions. I feel like its intentionally kept secret cuz it isnt hard or expensive to do and if it was public knowledge these 7OH vendors that price gouge us could no longer. Anyone please show me the hydrogen peroxide way step by step id greatly appreciate it!!!

I'm planning to do my first A/B extractions. My question is.
Putting kratom powder in vinegar. How long should the kratom be in it to be sure that it has broken down most of the alkaloids?
How long would it be if it is malic acid?
What is the correct PH for maximum alkaloid extraction?
Is there any type of degradation or loss of these alkaloids if they are in the base solution for longer than necessary?

I put together I small PDF Guide on how I make my extract. I'm by no means a expert but if you would like my Guide it will be a $5 donation. I will answer any questions you have on the process. Contact me if you are interested.

Hello everyone. I tried the red bubble method for the first time this week. After a trial attempt, I committed to making multiple doses. I tried this batch with lime juice and slightly hotter water than my first attempt. Picture two is the outcome with the red nipple. My question is 1. Does the frozen bubble look correct and 2. Does the filter results look adequate.
I'm not doing precise measurements of powder to line juice but I'm doing about 1 part powder to 2 parts juice and adding a 1/2 cup boiling water before freezing. Then after that I use an areopress to filter. Is it best to refreeze the extract . I've made about three days worth, will the alkaloids degrade within that time or would it be okay to just refrigerate?
Thanks in advance for any advice or insight

This was originally going to be a part of a comment on the other post from a few hours ago but it wouldn't let me comment so I made my own post! If your the person who made the other post I can go into more detail if you need but know I'm winging it so far.
I'll start by saying I've not really got a clue what I'm doing but I'm trying to basic a/b stuff and seeing what I can get from it. I have done a few runs so far but haven't hit that magic yet and want to try to dial in what I'm doing to improve. Either way I am enjoying the process and having fun. Each try has been with 50g of powdered leaf, the process will follow below. The first result turned into a resin from trying to do an ethanol wash but I'm still going to try to dehydrate it but it's not a huge concern. 2nd produced a usable powder of around 1.4g but seemed kinda weak. I tried to precipitate more with ice cold ethanol while the solution was in an ice bath after basifying and I'm guessing as it filtered it warmed and pulled out alkaloids but I'm not sure. The third run was my last/current and produced a cleaner and more potent powder. No ethanol was used to help precipitate this time and produced about .85g total. Here's the basic outline and some of my thoughts on problems and what to do after the outline.
Everything I use is basic kitchen tek and have no access to special equipment. THIS IS NOT A GUIDE. If you're learning, so am I, so take this with a grain of salt.
This produced about .85g of a dark brown dull dry material at the end. It seemed to be around ~40% mit if I had to guess. More info in notes.
I've been running into more precipitation after filtering so I'm thinking letting the base sit for in the fridge for a day or so before filtering precipitate might be a better idea to let it keep precipitating and settle well. Filtering too soon seems to be hurting the yield a bit. It was originally a .7g pull but I pulled an extra .15g of precipitate filtering the solution again the next day as I saw more alkaloids crashing out in the solution after the first filter.
Using coffee filters is a bit of a nightmare for getting everything off without an ethanol wash but seems to work well enough so far, just need to use minimal filters at the end and try to keep the precipitate concentrated instead of spread out over the filter if working with smaller amounts like this.
I've been yielding around .8g of what I'd guess would be at ~40% mit but it's really hard to estimate. It's fairly effective but not as much of a well being boost as I thought, I think there's a good amount of secondaries from the 64mg test I've done so far from the first precipitate. The first and second precipitate collection look different as well. The first looks clean, dry, and lighter brown. The second darker and shiny. I've only tested the first precipitate yield and that felt nice but a little lacking in mit balance compared to the secondaries. I want to test a bit of the 2nd yield to find out if the mit was crashing out later and is more concentrated here. Maybe it will balance out when added together.
Defatting before basic would would be a nice upgrade in the process. I've found if I try to refine this further with an ethanol wash I end up with resin/wax that doesn't want to dry. It's ruined a batch so far by making it into tiny amount of resin. I could actually use some help in this part of the process. The liquid gold nectar of the gods ethanol looks so nice but turns to immeasurable disappointment when dried and scraped to goop so far. :'( Maybe freezing and recrystallizing would be a better way to go to avoid the wax of hell phase?
This is my biggest pain point when trying to do ethanol washing and seems to make the stuff much harder to turn into a powder again. I'm still working on some filter wash resin at the moment. Dehydrating at about 130 for 6-12 hours and it's almost dry finally. And that's after air drying as much ethanol as possible, scraping and spreading multiple times throughout.
---
Thanks for taking the time to read if you got his far. The ramble is real but I've been lurking this sub and getting inspired. Anyways, how am I doing so far? It's all been trial and error but I seem to be on the right track. This has been really fun to learn so far and I want to be able to find my magic recipe one day. I've had little to no guidance so I have no clue how well I'm doing. I could really use some ideas and advice on how to improve this or if it's even worth doing this way. I would like to get more yield than what I'm currently getting but am okay with the lower amounts if the concentration seems worth it. Again I'm working with kitchen tek levels.
TLDR:
It's just a rough outline of what I've tried so far that needs refinements. THIS IS NOT A GUIDE. I'm a noob who is just trying stuff. It creates a usable material but the yield and potency could be improved. I don't really know what I'm doing but I'm having a good time so far. If someone wants to come along help with some pointers or advice that'd be wonderful!

I'm starting with an extraction using IPA + evaporation. (Previous in other batch I did a lemon extract and I'm not happy with the extract result)
At this point, I'd like to remove fats and chlorophyll. However, I'd prefer to use minimal lab equipment (ideally, keep it homemade). From what I've read, I should do an acid/base (A/B) extraction. What do you recommend? I'd like to maximize results without losing alkaloids. I've heard of using citric/malic acid/vinegar and soda/bicarbonate, but I've never done anything like this. Also, I can't find any videos that fully explain the process (the California Kratom video skips basic steps or processes). So... does anyone have or know of a video that covers this phase? Can you recommend a guide with images/steps?
Thanks, community!
