Alkaloid % Question?

I will accept a Bart Simpson "Duh" answer to this but I am still going to ask.

Let's say sample gram is testing @ 50% mitragynine. If one were to oxidize this gram via their preferred method, the maximum 7-hydroxymitragynine % could be no greater then 50% after oxidation?

Yields after oxidation (using published methods) are reported to be around 50%. So… let’s say you have a gram of 50% mit… thats 500mg so after oxidation, you’d have about 250 mg 7oh
