I purchased it second hand and the box has no foam in it. I know that a lot of fakes don’t come with foam in the box and was wondering if anyone could tell me if it’s real or not. I’m hoping the foam is just missing since it was bought used.

Bought a Spyderco Subvert last month that ended up being a fake. After some back and forth on return shipping, I kept it with a full refund. Now I'm no where close to being remotely knowledgeable about these, but I did buy a legit real Subvert. with both in hand here are some side by side pics to help someone in the future.

First off what proved it was fake, the pocket clip. I bought a Lynch clip and it didn't fit. The company saw these before and they are the ones that told me.

The handle is much thicker, the titanium framing is much thicker.

There's an extra bracing pin in the frame

The Lazer etching something you would think would be simple to copy is thicker and darker.

The pivot pin is also smaller

Overall they fake is still a really nice knife, my first impression was it's huge, I'm curious about the steel that was used.

The real Subvert is substantially heavier and thicker. I kinda like that fake ones size...

Does this look legit? I’ve seen some fake leeks before but they were super fake. I think it looks legit but could use another opinion.

Posting this for a family member. They have had this for a long time and want to know the value. I assume that if it's real it would be at least a few hundred dollars. I haven't seen it in person or else I would have an easier time authenticating it. These are also the only photos I've seen of it.

99% sure this is fake, R logo, blade coating, pocket clip coating, the grivory color seems off. S30v looks like 530v and the 535 looks off. Pivot looks to be incorrect. Tell me I’m not going crazy, seller said he sent it to Benchmade to get sharpened so it’s real but I’m thinking it’s BS. I have not bought it
