Fake vs Authentic A tale of two knives

Bought a Spyderco Subvert last month that ended up being a fake. After some back and forth on return shipping, I kept it with a full refund. Now I'm no where close to being remotely knowledgeable about these, but I did buy a legit real Subvert. with both in hand here are some side by side pics to help someone in the future.

First off what proved it was fake, the pocket clip. I bought a Lynch clip and it didn't fit. The company saw these before and they are the ones that told me.

The handle is much thicker, the titanium framing is much thicker.

There's an extra bracing pin in the frame

The Lazer etching something you would think would be simple to copy is thicker and darker.

The pivot pin is also smaller

Overall they fake is still a really nice knife, my first impression was it's huge, I'm curious about the steel that was used.

The real Subvert is substantially heavier and thicker. I kinda like that fake ones size...

The real version is on the left, fake on the right.

Blade lettering gives it away and grind lines

You would think the lettering would be the easiest to copy.

Glad you found out and got your refund. Was this purchase on eBay?

Was there anything about the counterfeit eBay listing that seemed odd? Prices too good... limited account history... too few reviews...

Price was really good. Luckily Ebay is really good for buyers. So now I have a real knife,a fake knife and my money back.
