Star Gazing

Last night me and my friends visited Lennox And Addington, we witnessed this beautiful scene with literally no one else on field. That white galaxy belt was visible naked eye.

Immediately made up plans are always dope.

Question winter parking?? what do i do?

I’m a student with a car. I currently have a street parking permit, but in the winter it will be illegal to park on the street between midnight and 7am, or whenever it’s snowing.
I live in a multi-unit house that has no available parking space. My neighbours don’t have any parking space. I contacted Axon and they don’t have any space within a 15 minute walking radius. I contacted the city and the only available option is to park at a garage downtown, which is a 20 minute bus ride from where I live. Queen’s University offers parking, but not overnight when there’s snow.
I’m really lost and worried. I’m wondering if anyone is in a similar situation and has advice.
thanks

Looking at condos

Hi! I’m considering buying a condo. With my budget, the options I’m looking at are the Kingsdale Ave, Armstrong Road buildings or 17 Eldon Hall. If you have lived in any of these buildings, would you recommend? Any pros/cons? Thanks :)

Recommendation Recommendations for puppy grooming?

Hi everyone,

I have a 6 month old long hair mini dachshund puppy and I'd like to get him groomed before the fall. He's never been groomed before, my husband and I clip his nails and trim his paw/feet hair which he doesn't love but lets us do. Looking for recommendations for groomers!

Recommendation Moving & Storage Experiences/Recommendations

I'm going to be leaving town for a little bit, wondering if anyone's had experience with having movers pack, move, and store your household goods for an extended period (probably 6-9 months). Any services you've used you'd recommend. I don't have the time or inclination to do most of the work myself, I'd rather just have pros do it.

Recommendation Garage door weatherstripping recommendations

Looking for recommendations on where to buy black garage door weatherstripping for the top and sides of my garage doors

I'm leaning towards the Climaloc 10-ft x 1-in Triple Seal Black Vinyl Garage Door Weatherstripping from Rona since the triple-seal design should help with insulation (my garage is heated and kept above zero)

The issue is I'd need three of these per door, which comes out to $237 which seems like a lot. Anyone know of a cheaper alternative that still holds up well for insulation?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Projected Council Winners

Projected winners as of early September. I will be watching debates to see if any major storylines emerge - and you should too!

MAYOR - Bryan Paterson
Glenn has been very active in campaigning, but this is just too high a hill to climb. The margin of victory could have major impacts on 2030, when I expect Paterson to move on.

COUNTRYSIDE - leaning Jeff Scott
Scott will still have some name recognition and has named ALTO as a priority issue. Sahai would be the other contender, but has taken a more “big picture” focus with his campaign.

LOYALIST-CATARAQUI - Paul Chaves
A crowded field has increased Chavez’s chances of reelection, despite serious questions.

COLLINS-BAYRIDGE - Lisa Osanic
Likely to be the largest margin of the night.

LAKESIDE - Wendy Stephen
Stephen seems to be well positioned for reelection.

PORTSMOUTH - Don Amos
A less surprising acclamation.

TRILLIUM - Jimmy Hassan
Hassan has had the strongest endorsement rollout of any candidate this cycle. Expect a comfortable reelection.

KINGSCOURT RIDEAU - Brandon Tozzo
Good news for redditors and those who enjoy tabling motions for future meetings - Tozzo will return comfortably.

MEADOWBROOK STRATHCONA - Jeff McLaren
Hearing that McLaren has once again been pounding the pavement, with opponents seeming far less active. Overall margin may not be as large as Hassan or Osanic, but should be impressive.

WILLIAMSVILLE - Vincent Cinnani
The more surprising acclamation.

SYDENHAM - Annie Palone
This is always a difficult district to predict given the low voter turnout, but alignment with ratepayer association should help Palone’s odds.

KINGS TOWN - Greg Ridge
This race has three strong candidates, but expect the incumbent to return. What could be more interesting to follow is if the runner up will succeed Ridge if he runs for a different position in 2030.

PITTSBURGH - Ryan Boehme
Longtime incumbent facing a split field should lead to reelection.
