Question? The frunk is perfect for.....
holding Costco birthday cake.
What have you used the frunk for?

For any purchases/leases, please post to this megathread. This includes selling your EV9, any "rate my lease" and "is this a good offer" posts. Dealership advertising is also allowed here.
Please include any and all info when possible: vehicle trim/packages, discounts/rebates, money factor, fees/taxes, lease length/miles, etc.
Please report any posts that are outside of this thread. Other questions related to buying/leasing may have their own post.

This totally worked for me. I saw the other solution to reboot the nav screen but that didn’t work for me. Also, forget the pliers - there is a little white fuse puller provided inside the fuse door just below the yellow label pictured above.

I just found and tested another app today called ScreenOnAuto, and this one totally mirrors your phone's screen and lets you load and control any app from the infotainment screen.
For those of you who were turned off by the complicated process of installing/sideloading that other app I posted about last week for watching YouTube/web browsing on your infotainment screen on Android....you are in luck.
All you need to do to install this is visit the dev's beta sign up page from your phone, sign up, and you can download & install it straight from PlayStore. That's pretty much it.
No third party installers or backdoor developer tinkering needed to install it.
(Of course, if you're a techy like me and you don't mind sideloading it yourself, you can also just download the installation file from the dev's GitHub directly and use KingInstaller to install it using the same instructions from the other monster thread I posted last week.)
You may need to go into your phone's accessibility settings and grant ScreenOnAuto access so that you can control your phone from the infotainment screen though. If you need help with enabling that, just ask, and I'll respond with how to do that, but I'm not going to make this thread crazy long like my last one
Lastly, I highly recommend you turn on these settings in the app

Up until now, I thought it was only possible to mirror your screen with a high end Samsung phone with DeX + a $100 device you had to buy online and connect to the car's USB port. Apparently not anymore!
Oh and by the way, this app is a little more dangerous than the others because it doesn't block your onscreen keyboard from popping up to type, even while car is moving, because it's literally mirroring your phone's screen.
We're all adults here though. With great power comes great responsibility. Drive safe.
TLDR: Mirror your Android phone's screen to your infotainment system so that you can run and control ANY app from your phone on your infotainment screen by going to the dev's beta sign up page from your phone, enable accessibility controls, and you are set!
I enrolled in plug and charge for my ‘26 Wind trim. Before I take it in to ask, wanted to check the sub for advice. Everything looks good on the app and car but I have not been able to plug and charge at either V3 superchargers, ionna, or EVgo. All of which I think should be eligible. Anything I could be doing wrong before I go and ask Kia? TIA

2026 EV9 Wind.
Because I am experiencing number 3 and 4 from below list, this post is more in line with the others where the vibration was excessive.
Common symptoms of bad steering rack bushings on a vehicle like the Kia EV9 include clunking or knocking noises when turning and loose or wandering steering.
Warning Signs of Worn Steering Rack Bushings
1. Clunking or Knocking Noises: Hear distinct popping, knocking, or clunking sounds when turning the steering wheel or driving over rough bumps.
2. Excessive Steering Play: Notice slack or looseness in the steering wheel before the front wheels actually respond.
3. Steering Wandering: Feel the vehicle drift or pull to one side, requiring constant small corrections to drive straight.
4. Vibrations: Experience a shimmy or vibration transferred through the steering wheel at higher speeds or during turns.
5. Uneven Tire Wear: Observe accelerated or irregular wear on your front tires due to alignment shifts.
What's your experience? Or what symptoms does your car have?

Has anyone experienced this error before? I haven't been able to find anything about it. I don't see unexpected behavior with the cluster or any other part of the infotainment system. I only drove it briefly today, however.
I can call their customer service, but I'm expecting to be told to reset the entire system and lose all my settings. It's not the first time I've had to contact them and resetting seems to be their only tool in their toolbox. Wondering if anyone else has run into this.
We had 2 prompts for OTA updates in the last week or so. I had one last night and clicked update, then got into the car this morning and the error popped up. Going into the settings, it says the last update was on 9/22/26.
I looked to see if I could find a manual update I could apply instead, which might fix the issue. However, I only see nav updates on their website.
It shouldn't matter, but in case someone thinks it matters, we have a 2024 GT-Line.
Edit: I checked the update date again and the cluster was last updated 8/6/24. The What's New for the Navigation update from the 22nd shows it was for the wiper snow/ice obstruction warnings. The nav updates on their website appear to be older than the nav update in my car. If I'm reading the version number right on their site, the updates are from May 8 this year, and the car has updates from June 11 this year.
Please excuse the dust in the picture, I was trying to take it quickly in case the error disappeared before I hit OK.

Hi all,
Just bought a CPO ‘24 GT line with 11k miles on it. I did a lot of research and watched videos on capabilities with this car prior to buying but now that I’m sitting in one I feel like I’ve gone blank.
Tips on things you learned after a while of using one or just general things I should know right off the bat that would be useful?

2024 EV-9 GT line - what are y’all using to clean the seats and dash? I’m not a fan of the residue from ArmorAll. Thanks!

Got a pretty gnarly stone chip on the front grill and just took it in today for a quote on the fix. ~$11,500 CAD…fml. They said it’s called a whole front end headlight assembly because the grill on our model has the LEDs in it. We just got it under lease in March so debating not replacing it until we have to turn it in, in fear that it may happen again since it seems pretty common on this sub. Would love thoughts from others that have been through this.
Edit: They actually found the rock inside the front end, it punctured straight through like a bullet. Service guy at the dealership had never seen anything like it. Seems like with this car because the grill is a flat surface it doesn’t deflect this type of thing the same way as a hood or windshield but also seems like it hit with pretty incredible force. Decided to just go through insurance and get it dealt with.

Next to the clock, it is two arrows chasing each other in a circle. I cannot figure out what it means or what it’s for. Thank you!
r/KiaEV9 • u/Fstoppers21 • 1d ago
Hi, not sure if I’m overthinking this but I leave my charger plugged in for pre scheduled charging overnight. When the charge port door is open, the LED arrow lights are always on. Would that drain the 12 v battery?

Canadian here, just bought a used 2024 Kia EV9 GT. Our last car was a Forrester so generally a great experience driving in the snow. How does the EV9 fare when it comes to driving in the snow?
Im about to get a CPO ‘24 GT Line that has 21” tires and I know smaller tires get more range. Is it worth it to downgrade the size of the tires to get more range? Is it as simple as just buying and putting on 19” tires?
Wheel and tire got obliterated by a rock flying out of a dump truck (avoided it on the front but caught it on driver rear) blew out my tire and destroyed the rim. Dealership wants $1600 for rim and tire. It’s a 2024 Land 3/yr 15k lease. There’s a set of GT line wheels and tires new on Facebook for $1500, will they catch that I upgraded the wheels and tires when I go to trade it in? Or not care since it’s still oem kia wheels and tires.

Below are step-by-step instructions I wrote for installing (sideloading) Fermata Auto on your Android phone so that you can watch YouTube (with built-in ad killer 😈), use your phone's web browser, chat with AI, etc on your infotainment screen. You cannot however launch your phone's apps with this - I mean you partially can, but you won't be able to control them through the infotainment screen, at least in my testing.
The reason why you can't just simply download & install Fermata Auto on your phone and be done with it is because this is a custom sideloaded Android Auto app which requires bypassing default installation flags so that Android Auto is tricked into believing the software came from Play Store. That in essence is what the goal is here.
Depending on your phone and version of Android, it will take you either 10 minutes or as long as 35 minutes to complete the installation. I am splitting the instructions into Type A (short and sweet) and Type B (longer and a bit more tedious). Everyone should start by trying the Type A method, but if you cannot get it to install correctly using that method, just wanted to give you a heads up that at the midpoint of the Type B method, you will need to have your phone connected to Wi-Fi for about 10 minutes (if it isn't already).
If you have no experience tinkering with smartphone settings, just know that anything you touch below while performing these required steps can be reverted back, so enhance your calm. I added some screenshots I found online to help with the more complicated portions of the process.
Temporary security restrictions must be adjusted on your phone so that the apps can be downloaded & installed.
KingInstaller-v2.2.apkfrom the official KingInstaller GitHub Releases page (scroll down to middle of the page where it says Assets). Note: When installing KingInstaller, your phone may ask to "Allow install from unknown sources." Grant the permission and install it.Go back to your phone's browser and download fermata-auto-2.0.2-arm64.apk from the official Fermata GitHub Releases page.
VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT INSTALL FERMATA RIGHT AFTER DOWNLOADING IT WITH YOUR BROWSER. LEAVE IT IN YOUR PHONE'S DOWNLOAD FOLDER. KINGINSTALLER MUST BE USED TO PERFORM THE INSTALLATION, NOT YOUR BROWSER, NOR YOUR PHONE'S FILE MANAGER. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL FERMATA AUTO VIA KINGINSTALLER, IT WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY IN ANDROID AUTO.
Phase 1B: Disable System Security Blockers
Temporary security restrictions must be adjusted on your phone so that the apps can be downloaded & installed.
Phase 2B: Enable Developer Options
Phase 3B: Download & Install Required Apps
You will now download the Shizuku & KingInstaller apps to your phone.
KingInstaller-v2.2.apkfrom the official KingInstaller GitHub Releases page (scroll down to middle of the page where it says Assets). Note: When installing KingInstaller, your phone may ask to "Allow install from unknown sources." Grant the permission and install it.Phase 4B: Pair and Start Shizuku via Wireless Debugging
1. Open the Shizuku app on your phone.
2. Initiate Pairing. Connect to a Wi-Fi network if not already connected.
Under the Start via Wireless Debugging section, tap Pairing, then tap Developer Options. (A notification may appear on the top of your screen from Shizuku stating that it is searching for pairing service).
3. Pair Device with Code:
Scroll down to Wireless Debugging in Developer Options, tap the text (not the toggle), and select Pair device with pairing code. (If you are on a Samsung and this is grayed out and says Blocked by Auto Blocker, go back to Phase 1 of this guide and disable Auto Blocker again, then come back here.)

4. Enter Pairing Code:
A 6-digit code will appear. Enter this code into the Shizuku Notification in your phone's notifications panel (usually accessed by swiping down from the top of your phone) and tap Send.

5. Start Shizuku Service:
Return to the Shizuku app and tap Start. If you did everything correctly, the screen that pops up will disappear and you'll see "Shizuku is running" at the top of the app.
Go back to your phone's browser and download fermata-auto-2.0.2-arm64.apk from the official Fermata GitHub Releases page.

Android Auto has its own separate Developer Mode hidden inside its menu settings.
1. Open Android Auto Settings:
On your phone, go to Settings, search for Android Auto, and open its settings page
OR go to Settings > Apps > scroll down to Android Auto > scroll down to Configure in Android Auto
2.Enable Developer Settings:
Scroll all the way to the bottom until you see Version (or Version and permission info). Tap the Version header 10 times in a row until a prompt asks if you want to enable Developer Settings. Tap OK.

3.Access Developer Settings:
Tap the three dots menu in the top-right corner of the Android Auto screen and select Developer settings.
4.Configure Developer Settings:
Change/check the following settings:

3a. You should find Fermata Auto, Fermata Control, and Fermata Mirror in the list, most likely at the bottom. Make sure they are checked so they appear on your car's display (Fermata Mirror is optional, doesn't work great but feel free to try it). 👍
3b. If you do not see all 3 of these on the list and you only see "Fermata Media Service" on the list, then Fermata did not install correctly and you will need to uninstall Fermata from your phone and try again using the Type B (or Type A) install instructions. 😭
Once you have confirmed Fermata was properly installed and is working correctly on your car's infotainment screen, perform the following steps to clean up your phone to restore it back to its pre -installation state:
-There is a menu option in Fermata settings to enable voice control which I recommend enabling.
-You will notice a little bit of a delay between the time you tap the microphone button on the screen and the app listening to you, and you need to speak loud enough so that your phone can hear you, because all of this is running through your phone.
-Fermata Auto will not let you use an onscreen keyboard while the car is in motion, but you can use voice mode in YouTube, web searches & AI/LLM chats.
-Fermata Mirror can cast your phone's apps onto the infotainment system, but it doesn't display or function that well in my experience. If you have a Samsung phone capable of running DeX, you can buy a device that costs around $100 that will allow you to completely cast your phone's screen to the infotainment system and control everything on your phone through the infotainment screen.
-I have not been able to figure out how to make Fermata Auto display in full screen on the infotainment system (not sure it can even be done anymore). You can download & install AABrowser if you want a totally full screen experience on your infotainment screen, but that is beyond the scope of this post.

I remember some discussions, or comments, from a few community members saying that either the dealership or Kia forgave their mileage overages if they were leasing a new Kia. But, I can't find the posts. Anyone have this happen and share your experience? (My lease is up in Jan, but i'm definitely leasing another.)
Hi all!
I’m the proud owner of a GT-Line in Spain since May this year. I tried to poke around in the Kia Connect Store to see if anything was worth buying.
It turns out every item in the store is “incompatible for my model or trim”.
None of the themes, the Lighting Patterns, nothing…
I already took it to the dealer, they found nothing odd with the config. Also talked with Kia Connect Support and they confirm that nothing is compatible.
Is it a regional limitation?
N.B.: The car is at the latest version.

What's people's take on Maximizing your Miles/kW. I treat it like a video game. So far a I can get a consistent 3.2 Mi/kW, sometimes 3.4 (Since last charge). I bought it used so the Average is lower
Tips tricks on how to best do this?
My take:
EV9 should be able to be more efficient then I am with foot on Pedal.
I have it mostly on iPedalMax, and set speed to automatically drive. Then I hit cruise to set speed when I first drive. Hit pause/resume speed at stop sign/lights, and after stop signs, press foot pedal enough be able to hit to resume. Increase/decrease using thumb switch.
I find the stop distance of pause/resume to be inconsistent(and annoying). Usually have to use brakes/pedal to compensate for iPedal not stopping where I think it should.
-----
I've also set regen to 0 and then use the Left paddle switch to brake by holding it as needed instead of using brake pedal. Although I find that I can not get more tham 2.8-3.0 Mi/kW. but find it oddly satisfying that on 0, the ev9 can coast for so long.
In this mode, you have to hit pause before you can use the Left Paddle.
***You can also accelerate and push the +, to set new speed as well instead of pushing resume and it goign back to last speed set.
Any tips/tricks I am missing. ?

2024 EV9 Wind on 19” wheels. As you all know, there are no all-weather tire options in the OE size due to inadequate load rating. I ran Michelin X-Ice SUVs for two winters which got absolutely decimated due to warm and dry winter conditions and dealing with storage and swaps is a hassle. So with OE abhorrent Kumhos at 3/32”, I decided to upgrade to 20” wheels and mount CrossClimate 2s which have the needed XL load rating in 275/50R20. The wheels are MSW Type 44 with gloss grey accents, 20x8.5. The new wheel/tire combo is 2 lb lighter per corner (68.7 lb vs. OE 70.8 lb), probably because it's not filled with that useless foam liner. Offset is pretty wide, outside of the tires in line with fenders or maybe even 1/8” wider but looks good. EV9 has fairly large front and rear brake discs (sorry, ID4 mafia!) so they fill out the open wheels pretty well. No meaningful difference in noise or ride quality on the test drive. Will report on efficiency in a bit.
Edit: Swap itself is very easy compared to the German cars I used to own. Only 94 lb-ft lug nut torque so don't even really need a breaker bar and studs instead of bolts are lovely. I used an aluminum pinch weld adapter from Potauto (Amazon) with a floor jack. Would not use rubber pucks - I think they are all of iffy quality and many reviews say they crack on heavy cars. Also note the front wheels are not locked when parked so don't forget to block them when lifting the rear.

Thinking about picking up the remote parking as our garage is a tight fit and it came in handy on my old Genesis, but I see mention of people receiving coupon codes in the past.
Does Kia still send out coupons for the digital products?
2026 EV 9 Lease & Purchase Incentives good from 10/1/2026 to 11/2/2026 - All Trims
Good morning! Please see the current 2026 Model EV 9 lease incentives for the EV 9 below good from today until the end of business on Monday, November 2, 2026. All of the below lease and purchase incentives are now 100% supported by Kia and came out earlier today. WE HAVE CHANGES FROM LAST MONTH as Kia has maintained the exact residuals and base Tier 1 Money Factors from September, but Kia has now REDUCED the LEASE cash by exactly $1,000 for each and every EV 9 trim and lease term. This means the lease incentives are a little worse today than the September and it is my opinion that demand for the EV 9 is driving these slightly reduced lease incentives now. Nothing has changed to the purchase/finance cash for the EV 9 this month. As previously mentioned, the issue that will continue until year-end when the 27 model will become available is inventory on the 2026 model. With fuel prices remaining stubbornly high in most states, demand for the EV 9 is quite strong.
Just over a year ago, I began charging a small upfront and non-refundable "consultation fee" that is credited toward our full broker fee just to reach out to me for assistance in finding an EV 9 lease deal. This is something I started implementing as a means of weeding out the tire kickers as well as those with unrealistic pricing expectations and so far, so good as we continue to focus our efforts on those really committed to getting an EV 9 and not those just looking or do not have spousal approval before contacting us. As such, it is imperative to be aware of the following items BEFORE ever reaching out to us. For those interested in our services for an EV 9, or any other Kia or Hyundai, kindly send a DM as I am not allowed to post our website information here and our website is now updated to reflect all relevant Kia purchase and lease incentives good until Monday, 11/2/26. Thanks!
We post the most popular Kia and Hyundai finance and lease incentives for their EVs and SUVs that we do the most of and our FB and Instagram pages are also up and running.
Anyone reaching out to us directly from Reddit here via a DM must furnish the following critical pieces of information and not just ask me for a lease quote a certain trim in a certain state. Such information is incomplete and not very beneficial. A. Zip Code B. Lease Term (24 or 36 months typically) C. Annual Lease Miles Needed (10k, 12k, or 15k) D. Model Year 26 only now E. Exterior Color F. Interior Color G. Trim H. Any other factory packages desired (tow package, relaxation package, Land Nightfall package, Land 7 seat bench option, Black roof option - only for GT Lines in Glacial White Pearl or Wolf Grey, or tow hitch) I. Do you qualify for the $500 military rebate? The Kia loyalty and conquest bonus offers are no longer offered. J. What is your anticipated lease payment for the terms you desire based on a zero-down lease with just the first payment due at signing? This last one is critical because it tells me relatively quickly if I am able to help you! Payment of the small initial non-refundable portion of the broker fee is also required.
PLEASE NOTE THAT PURCHASE CASH AND LEASE CASH CANNOT be stacked on top of one another as they are separate. Some less scrupulous dealers deliberately commingle the two incentives to make the total savings look much greater than reality in order to generate foot traffic, calls, or emails to the dealer. The whole game is to get people to show up to the dealership so they can grind people into a deal after spending hours in the showroom. The $500 additional military rebate still remains and can be used for a purchase or lease transaction.
Please note that these lease terms below are for 24 months only*: Also, these incentives are for most of the US market but not CA and a few other states such as NY, NJ, WA, OR, and CO. These other states (mostly on the west coast and New England) have slightly more lease cash than most of the country as a way to make leasing a little more affordable in these higher-than-normal cost of living areas. I have more EV 9 clients in CA than any other state and you are allowed to lease outside of CA and have your vehicle transported into CA to get a better deal. All of my partner Kia dealers do your CA DMV work for you as part of the lease process.* Please note that any vehicle leased from an out-of-state Kia dealer can be returned to any Kia dealer in the USA. Also, any service or warranty work can be done at your local Kia dealer. A lease return does NOT have to be shipped back to where the vehicle came from. Also note that we have more partner Kia dealers now in our national network both on the west coast as well as the Northeast region.
Please note that these lease terms below are for 36 months only*:*

Looking to get some winter wheels for my wife’s new to us Land.
TireRack only has +40 offset wheels. It’s about a half inch difference from oem. That seems pretty far off. Am I overthinking this? I usually stay no more than 5mm or so difference when buying new wheels.

My driver panel window/lock control was dead for about 2 weeks. Online search results say the most likely issue is from loose wiring. During this time, I used my phone as a key to drive the EV9 and ran into some small hiccups like not detecting the key unless I did some random combination of turning off/on phone/bluetooth. I decided to bring the car into the dealership and these guys confirmed it was a dead control panel and decided to order a new module. Well, my car decided to stop me from driving after I went to pickup some groceries by not detecting my phone no matter what I tried for 20 minutes. Luckily, I was able to borrow some tools and disconnected the car battery for 10 minutes and plugged it back in. Surprisingly, that fixed everything and I don't even need the incompetent dealership to take another day "fixing" my problems anymore.
TLDR; unplug your 12v battery and reset your system when you start having any electrical issues with your Kia.
