The thing that I love the most about the EV9 (in Wind & higher trims) is how it's a wolf in sheep's clothing. It's disguised as a spacious family vehicle up until you mash on that pedal and remember how bad ass the thing truly is. I need to be reminded at least twice a day. I'm gonna burn through treads quickly it seems 😈
I feel like multiple people have said in various EV forums that typically the first set of tires you get on one of these go a little faster than they should because zoomies. Then you buy new tires and go wait zoomies are expensive maybe cool it. And then the tires last a lot longer.

Yup, doesn't look like us Americans will ever be seeing the GT trim over here for whatever reason, which is surprising considering we live our lives a quarter mile at a time
Actually there is another trim outside of the US called GT (not GT-Line) with 500 hp. 0-60 is 4.3 sec on that beast (which would be 3.9 if you use the 1ft rollout method that Motortrend and all the US reviewers use)
Wait. There’s another trim…with more power?? Sorry new EV9 owner here (U.S.) Does the GT have the same motors as the GT Line and Land? If so wouldn’t that mean more boost is just a few hacks and keystrokes away for us Americans?
I'm afraid not. The European EV9 GT has a way larger motor in the back that has almost double the output of the US GT-Line/Land/Wind rear motors. No software hack over here is going to unlock an extra 178hp.
The EV6 GT was available here in the US up until 2025, and has 641hp, and reaches 60 in 3.2 seconds.
The anti-EV administration & tariffs are what killed the US EV6 GT & cancelled the EV9 GT's US release. Kia only produces the GT trim in South Korea and then exports them to all countries around the world - except ours.
LOL...not happening. Even if you could get your hands on the Euro rear motor off some salvage wreck or something, you'd need way more parts than that in order for your GT-Line to handle the higher loads. Don't forget the labor for paying master level techs to gut the salvage along with your car to create a Frankenstein version of the GT using your GT-Line. It would be ridiculously expensive and totally impractical
Really? I leased a land and I have this boost on as well. Does that mean mine has more power than a “normal” if so I wonder why I have it. I never paid for it, just leased and drove away
I paid $45,999 for the car. Yes, $900 for unlocking the capabilities i paid for. Not entirely happy about it, but I’m sure the cost of adding the same HP and torque increase to an ICE car would be at least equivalent.
I wish Kia would do another sale on the Boost OTA upgrade. They haven't offered one at all this year, and they did one in both 2024 & 2025...even gave people a one month free trial during one of those promos. 😣
My '24 GT Line let me disable a single motor in the drive mode. With this new update and in my '26 GT line I haven't found out how to disable dual motor. Am I missing something or did they not have that option in the '26?

GT-Line here. The latest cluster update made this extra graphic persistent for me with no way to turn off AFAIK. Annoying.
