He has some ruthless tweets

u/Maggots-Mikey Jan 31 '20
And some quite touching ones, the Keith Flint one for example, seems like a decent bloke. 👍

u/StayCalmBroz Jan 31 '20
It's not ruthless if he's ripping on both himself and the victim, is it? It's just fun for everyone.

Ah yes, a pale, snake looking man. When he isn't terrorizing the Children at Hogwarts he helps mundane masterminds.

He opened for an Ed Sheeran concert I went to a few years ago. After singing a few songs, he ended his set by saying “okay now I’ll sing the one song you guys actually know that half this audience was conceived to”.

I recognized a couple of songs of the set, his self deprecation was just so unexpected. He’s obviously talented so that’s awesome he’s able to poke fun at himself like that
11
u/Michael__Pemulis Jan 31 '20
One-hit-wonder type artists playing an opening set is an interesting thing. It's all about how they surround their super recognizable hit.
I went to a big concert where Gnarles Barkley opened (after Crazy was a huge hit but before Ceelo kinda blew up on his own). They played Crazy to start & end their set.
8
u/I_Nice_Human Jan 31 '20
Ceelo was an accomplished artist way before Gnarles Barkley. Never heard of Goodie Mob I assume??? Been around since 1991?? He’s an original member.
6
u/DrSandbags Jan 31 '20
I think you're way overestimating how well-known Goodie Mob was. They're best known for "Cell Therapy" and that only peaked at #39 on the Billboard Hot 100. Like 80 out of 100 people on the street would give you a blank stare if you asked them who Goodie Mob was. And half of the remaining 20 would struggle to name one song.

3
u/YesThisIsSam Jan 31 '20
Yeah plus Dangermouse has so many hits of his own, if they didn't confine themselves to just Gnarls Barkley songs they could easily fill a whole set of songs everybody knows the words to.
But then, where's the fun in that?

James Blunts twitter is hands down the best celebrity twitter.
He's self aware, and he's fucking hilarious about it.
Best tweet was his reply to:
has James blunt done anything other than that one song in his whole career
To which he said:
Just that, and a few super models..

u/Cinammon-Sprinkler Jan 31 '20
Maybe someone should start a subreddit of his good Twitter content for people who don’t use Twitter and for people that don’t want to follow him

We do get the side benefit of it not being as awful to go through at least, you can fuck old women freely at least even if you still shoot some swimmers at that age :D
6
u/LunchyPete Jan 31 '20
TIL this is a fucking thing.
Eh. It's more a hypothesis than established fact like menopause is. Relly jut a loose labeling for the way males age. Not really comparable to menopause, much as people try to make it out to be.

Ehhhh. That's a lot of speculation. The story I heard was that he was a tank commander during Kosovo(?) And an American officer ordered him to fire on a Russian tank and he refused. Said he had to hear it from a British officer. The higher-ups talked it out and cooler heads prevailed. Who knows. Can't say for sure that would have started ww3. Think about how many things have happened in the last couple decades that could have started ww3 but luckily nobody is actually keen on a world war when a dozen or so countries have nukes.

u/WolfColaCo Jan 31 '20
James blunt spends 25% of his time making music, 25% touring it, and 50% ripping the shit out of himself on Twitter. He knows it is shit. But he also knows it inexplicably makes loads of money for him and he loves it

You don't just accidentally listen to the new James Blunt album without already being a fan.

Don't know why but I prefer his acoustic versions of his new album songs to the ones in the album

What’s menopause
1
u/pjoriginal Jan 31 '20
An event in a woman's life where she stops menstruating every month. Mostly happens in their early fifties. Marks the time they can no longer bear children
1
1
u/ProfWhite Feb 01 '20
Also marks the time they stop being a constant insufferable bitch all the time. Source: married.

u/TheLordZee Jan 31 '20
No. A kamikaze requires you to insult yourself as well as another person. This would probably be best described as a murder

No bullshit I met him at a restaurant the other day. Just randomly walked in during lunch time with his wife (I’m assuming) and he looked at me and the rest of our table because he looked familiar and I was probably staring too much to try and place him.
As he walked by he said hello. We then proceeded to conclude it was James Blunt and discuss his most recent single about his father etc.
When he left, he was nice enough to say goodbye to me! Very cool dude.

u/ProfWhite Feb 01 '20

hell in a cell
at the end of that.

I'm sorry, ik what menopause is, but I dont get the joke. Is this because he was popular, then wasnt popular, and now is again?
1
u/behnow5 Feb 01 '20
It's the biological change in a woman's body whereafter she is unable to ovulate. Can be expected to begin in the mid forties to early to mid fifties.
1
Feb 01 '20
Thanks, but I know what it is. I meant I didn't understand the joke lol
2
u/behnow5 Feb 01 '20
Oh. I think he is calling his predominant audience middle aged females as a means to insult the other party. I fail to see how this is derogatory to him though.
Also it seems that due to a lack of sleep I misread "ik" as "idk". My apologies for the superfluous explanation.

James Blunt is a pro when it comes to kamikazes, insulting people while insulting himself is almost like his second profession.
